If they are that big - looking at the primary flight feathers, and still missing feathers from the head and the neck, they you have tricho in a systemic form. That might be the reason why they are not eating well. Tricho can be present in many forms. And I think that is the problem in your case because feathers are also missing from other parts like around the vent.

Rigid. Stiff. Not circular tubing. I have used 5/16” ID 3/8” ID. You need to make a sieve to sort out the sizes. Too big. Feed this to adult pigeons. Too small also. Do not use any split peas at all it will jam the tube. Peas in the tube too long will swell. Now tropical fish stores that cater to those using under gravel filters carry the tubing. If not try the internet. They come in 3 foot sections. Cut it into 3. 1 foot pieces. Sand or file the one end that goes in the throat. The piece that goes into the bulb has to be heated and crushed smaller to keep the peas out of the tube only allowing water to pass.

I've trained her to locate her food and water bowl in her cage but she only eats small parakeet bird seed. She throws out large pieces, needless to say she seems very underweight, her breast bone protrudes past her breast muscle. Do you have any recommendations? I want her to gain weight, but not be miserably hyperactive with no way to expend excess energy since she can't see or fly.

I am not exactly sure what you need to know. Sometimes the baby gives you a hard time. Is this a little baby or a bigger baby. A bigger baby you can hold against yourself so he doesn’t move when you feed him.
@@ShortBeakBudapest It is a bigger chick that hasn't yet started to eat, but its parents are going to have now chicks soon. Every time I try to feed it it shakes its head and doesn't let me put the pump inside its beak. I think without feeding by me it is going to die cause it seems the parents don't feed it enough

Then put your hand over his back and he will grab the dowels sticks open his mouth and then insert the tube and immediately squeeze the bulb to release the round seeds. If this doesn’t work then hold him against you and try holding him and opening his mouth and try feeding again. You can also just take him away from the parents. Put him in a cage with heat. Put an older baby in with him that is eating and he will watch that bird eat and he might try himself. If he takes any grain never touch him again. Wheat is the first seed the babies pick up. Use pure wheat in the dish.

Use a baby enema syringe or an ear wax syringe bulb. Force the plastic into to the bulb. Use soap. Then wash it out. I need to make a video with no sound and just show the building of the device.

You can moisten the feed and push it against the beak near the nostril. Try wheat. Or rice. It’s easier to work with.

you could use this technique and only give her as much as you want her to eat. She might not like it but at least she will gain some weight.
