Very hard to hide families except in homes like the Corrie Ten Boom family. People had to use existing buildings. With the land so flat and the water table so high, it was very hard to build underground hiding areas. I am so proud of the village helping to get rid of the Dutch collaborator. That was wonderful. I can understand splitting the family. But why not place the baby with the mother who would be able to possibly breastfeed the infant? I can't imagine the strength and love it took to walk away from her "family".
