Did Blinken mention the genocide in China or is it still considered a "cultural difference " as they die making your favorite style of shoes and other clothes?
Could the one young lady, who had escaped to Palestine (Isreal) been more effective staying there helping as others found their way out of war torn Europe? Helping with those who had lost everything and everyone? Didn't the British have updated intelligence alerting them about troop movements? It sounded like her life was lost on a mission doomed for failure. She was extremely brave but I wonder if her drive to save her Mom clouded her thinking? She had to be EXTREMELY tough to keep her mouth shut following her torture.
The Netherlands had such a high loss of Jews. Was it because of collaboration? Or because of the land: flat and wet. Very hard to hide families except in homes like the Corrie Ten Boom family. People had to use existing buildings. With the land so flat and the water table so high, it was very hard to build underground hiding areas.
I am so proud of the village helping to get rid of the Dutch collaborator. That was wonderful.
I can understand splitting the family. But why not place the baby with the mother who would be able to possibly breastfeed the infant? I can't imagine the strength and love it took to walk away from her "family".
