I appreciate you talking about the desperate situation of war that has continued through today. I’m in my mid-age now. Since age 11, I started to learn about the devastation of WWII; the annihilation the Jewish population remains devastating! I have shed so so many tears for stories like this one, and too many others! The Brave & Strength it took to hold-on to your precious children still amazes me!
Thank you for sharing. My paternal Grandparents were in Poland during the war. My Grandmother was a slave laborer under the Nazis. My maternal Grandfather was one of the US soldiers that helped liberate Dachau. Thank you for the interview.
Just can’t begin to imagine what your mum and you girls went through , your mum was incredibly brave so sad the wonderful lady who took you in died life can be so cruel to good people . The Roma and Sinti Gypsy families were targeted as antisocial and were killed in the death camps, by the death squads in German occupied territory in Russia, Ukraine, Romania. Their stories need to be told as well.
