Sablin, stirring from the daze of shock and impact, realized his machine was moving on its own, and then watching in a different kind of shock, saw that with each enemy defeated, the LEN seemed to move faster and faster. Until at last there were no more loyalists left to fight. Sablin and his mecha stood there in the square, surrounded by wreckage and silence. Sablin listened to the Hum of the engine. It was no longer the ragged puttering of an old and rusted obsolete LEN, he realized. Now, it hummed with new life and renewed vigor. LEN-1N was young again.
