140 years old Golra Railway Station

Golra Sharif railway Station is almost 140 years old and its surrounded by banyan trees near Islamabad city,its small junction Station but very active and important Railway Station of Pakistan,
in 19th century when British laid the railroad in subcontinent, after that few railroad companies started their services for passenger's and this Station was the last Station towards north till many years,
after that British made their mind to conquer Afghan territory then initially the railroad was laid from Golra sharif Railway Station to Landi kotal Railway Station via Noshehra & Peshawar, this line was initially used by British forces for their logistics.
nowadays it's very famous Station and also part of Pakistan Railways Museum Islamabad
its Victorian style building is very famous which was made of sandstones by British in 1881 and it's also very popular among local and foreigners.
I also witness there 100 Year's old hand pump which was made in England and was used for drinking water at plate form for passengers, there were also other made in England items items was there during the British raj in subcontinent as like wooden furniture, wall clock, electric switch, British Guns and different British Railway artifacts,

Mr Admin, I suggest you please consult Pakistan Railways authorities to get permission to have a Trolley-Ride. As you know there are two types of inspection trolleys used on Pakistan Railways for the inspection of track & bridges viz motor-trolley & push-trolley. If you shoot a video showing the inspection of track on a trolley in ghat section, it would be of immense interest & information. I hope you would kindly oblige us. Thank you so much.

The Electrical Ceiling Fan isn’t from 1881. They’re from the 1920’s & 1930’s, I think Osler :), like the Pak Fan of those days. What a great place to visit, anyone who visits Islamabad should definitely go here. Thanks for sharing

Thanks for visiting sir, yes this Station is on main line ML1 and not far from Rawalpindi Station hardly 10km away,
This is a small junction Station which connects 2 lines (ML1 towards Peshawar almost 160km and then to Last Station Landi kotel at Pak/afg border, and 2nd line connect to this Station is a branch line which leads towards ML2 to the south of Pakistan
