I have 4500km on my NX500 so far--love the biuke onece i got it set up correctly for me--a light weight touring bike is what i went for--Michelein Road 6's and pannier boxes--new seat and windscreen and suspension work from a local shop juts shims and valving nothing expensive and its perfect. Nothing beginner about this bike except that its useable as all hell and not expensive. Its all i need and i expect to get into the 100's of thousands of km on this bike. I like the lack of electronics--i dont want cruise control etc. I also dont offroad i ride two lane roads touring mostly beat up small roads on it although i might switch out to Dunlop TrailMax Raids and run some dirt road trips. A poor mans BMW--i can buy 5 NX500's for the price of the BMW1300 where i live. I also love the looks more than the CBX it looks gorgeous to me.Last thing is the sound its addictive when you red line it sounds like a F1 car winding up.
Sounds like your having fun and enjoying your purchase. That's all you need really. You have your cases and it's ready for adventures. Cruise control isn't for everyone. It has the electronics you need for not much money. Like you said you can buy like 5 for the price of a R1300GS. 😂 Thanks for your comment and I'm sure you have plenty of trips planned.

After a test ride I recently bought a NX500 and the upgrades definitely improve it over the previous version. The instrumentation, wind protection, weight and engine mapping are all better. However I still think the CB500X edges it in the looks department.
Yeah it's still a good looking bike the CB500X. Anyone looking at the NX and looking for used should consider it. The NX500 is like an improvement over the CB500X with all those upgrades.

I’ve got a 2023 CBx and very happy with it. The NX is a missed opportunity in that it really could have taken the platform up to a higher standard of bike, particularly regarding off-road performance - and it’s just more of the same, albeit with a few tweaks. In particular the failure to put some decent travel suspension on the bike is really holding the bike back from what buyers want from the bike.
@@KeepItSimpleSailor I do agree with the travel suspension. They should have definitely looked at that on the new bike considering alternatives have better rear suspension. The CBx is a nice bike. I did a review on one last year. Very nice indeed.

Re The 2023 500x ( which I own) versus the new nx500, This upgrade is mostly a marketing ploy or technique, not that I’m knocking that. The biggest upgrades are the new screen and headlight. Performance, and mechanical, not so much. My wife is taking delivery of the NX500 next week. I will let you know what we think .
The thing is: why Honda didn't just upgreat the existing cb500x as is has a better windshield? So did the sit confort in the nx500 improved comparing to the cb50x?
The Honda Sync App doesn't work in Ireland. No one tells you that at the dealers. Still enjoying the bike though. Just a bit peeved about that non-working electronic bit. I was looking forward to the navigation tool.🤨

Mainly because I'm not doing so much 'off the beaten track' stuff these days. I'm 77 and the Honda half litre's a lot easier to manhandle when the need arises. Oh, and the Honda Road Sync App's still not available in Ireland.

Lived near JHB for a couple of years and used to head out on breakfast runs to Hartbeespoort Dam. Used to have a couple of Lion Lagers with a Vors roll. Cant believe we used to do that!
In Singapore, the CB already cost SG$26,000. I cant imagine NX400 price. I didnt wanna wait, so I grabbed the last few stocks of 2023 CB400X 😅 I like the looks of the CB more than the NX
The front of the CB 500 X look's much better i think. Wel i got my NX 500 on wednesday and i am very pleased with it, i could not get a better bike in my opininion. 😎
I’ve got a 2023 CBx - the instrument, suspension tuning and improved slow revs throttle response will al be good improvements. Electronics and Traction control is just pointless on this bike (but I am biased against all the electronics bs). Aesthetically I still like the gunmetal black CBx, and that muffler still sucks and is terribly heavy.
Electronics bring bikes into the 21st century. Abs and traction control are great and that's about as far as I would take it. Cruise control.. well they can keep that! 😂 The cbx is still very much a great bike.
I have the 2019 CB500X I could get it ECU from Moore mafia $400 & that will make it as good or better than the NX500 & I don't like how the forks & everything is "blacked out" in the United States (only color we get) I think the 2023 looks way better! + Gold forks.. NX500 just black, traction control? Na don't need that where I live. & TFT display whatever... Not needed. And then people talk about the dual disc brakes do you really need that when you have a skinny ass tire up front? NOBODY complained about the single disc, Honda had to do something to sell the 🆕 model That's just my opinion. (FIND A VIDEO OF SOMEONE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SINGLE DISK FRONT BRAKE) wouldn't know if u didn't look lol
@@honda116969 lol complaining... The bike simply looks better with a dual disc, it gives the bike a more balanced look. Also Having dual disc brakes also gives you better stopping power. There's so many bikes out there with one single disc I doubt 95% of people are not going to notice. A lot of people buy these bikes because they're simple now when you change the brakes you got to buy 2 sets of pads instead of 1, You got to buy 2 rotors instead of 1, You got to bleed out 2 sides instead of 1.. I'm just pointing out the obvious that Honda had to do something to the bike to make people want to buy it, It was more done for that purpose than it was for the stopping power. You guys act like a single disc is not going to lock up the front wheel, your tire has to grip the road as good as your your pad grabs the rotor. Trust me dude I could have bought either bike they had them both right there but I was not going to spend 2-3K more for an extra rotor & upside down fork.. when they had a used 2019 with 500 mi on it. I'm trying to help people shop & be logical, not get fuked & buy the newest latest & greatest but of course there's a lot of shills that want people to buy a brand new $10,000 motorcycle when they can get it used for $5-6,000. & if you're realistically logic about it it's the same damn bike. And most anything you want to change you could do it in the aftermarket for a much cheaper cost & probably better than the factory bike. I try to use my 🧠💪 or your 💰 will soon part

Absolutely detest the look of the NX, hated the Transalp look and this is just a junior version. CB500X looks way way better and the riding quality difference is nowhere near enough to convince me to change. Just bought a 2024 500X with 102 miles on the clock so now have the bike I love and saved a shit load of cash as well.
@ I look out my window and see a beautiful bike to me, to see the NX there instead would bug the hell out of me. Honda, we are not all Transalp fans and the Hafrica Twin was a lot more true to life than Trans Twin, for sure.
Sharp new looks? Nope, CB looks way better imo. The beak similar to the vstrom looks more off-road adventure to me than this.TCS vital? On 47hp? Really....they are making it more road oriented, probably to get people to spend more on the transalp instead.

To me ading to much rider aids doesn't help the rider at all. If you need all those rider aids, your not capable of riding a bike in my eyes. I grew-up with out rider aids and I've never needed them.

Its just marketing the cb500 is now a 500 hornet and the cbr got sportier. I think changing the names and design is just marketing for the nx500

For some reason, Roadsync does not exist in North America. The Honda nav system on my 2018 Gold Wing was pretty lame, so maybe it’s no great loss.

The design is good. Can't go wrong with that. It's very much a new design, something to get used too.

I have just bought a used 500x, could have afforded a new NX, but I just don't like the styling. My cb is proving to be brilliant, 80 mpg average.
