This is a very good set up video. I liked that you kept the information limited to the subject at hand and gave reasons for why you did what you did. I am technologically challenged and I was able to do this on my own (with my husband for moral support during the wifi set up). I actually want to use the printer as a regular printer not for sublimation. The only videos I could find were for sublimation...and I took a chance that the only difference was the type of ink installed. Thank you so much!

Extremely helpful! Had to change outlets so that the printer was the only thing plugged in but it works great. I also skipped the part about the Cosmos Ink having a seal and totally thought my printer was seriously broken 🤣🤣🤣 But it's all done now, thank you so much!

I had a printer about 5 or 6 years ago that I didn't remove all of the tape and nearly destroyed the printer so that was a confirming that was a huge relief! Thank you!

Hey Patti! Don't stress, I promise it is much easier than it seems! Be sure to check out the free resources at Design Bundles to find designs to play with (if you don't already have some) and consider using a program that you are already familiar with until you are ready to tackle actual designing. You can even print from Microsoft Word and Microsoft Publisher, many people do! Then once that is done, we'll talk about other programs that you can do more to modify and customize your designs! Thank you for this very informative video! Can I ask you.. can I use this print on a heat transfer 3D vacuum machine to sublimate ceramic plates? And will they be food and dishwasher safe?
The ET-15000 is next on my list to buy. I started sublimation with the ET-2760 and I like it, but the 8.5x11 is always small for Large and XL T-Shirts.
I'd you do not mind how are you printing shirts from the 8x11?
@@sonaturalc4132 the standard 8.5 x 11 print works for small and medium t-shirts using sublimation. For sublimation, I flip the image, print directly from photoshop or illustrator to the sublimation printer on sublimation paper, then press to the t-shirt using a heat press.

If you needed a smaller printer then you could also go for the Epson SureColor F170 which is designed for dye sublimation printing. It includes dye sublimation Epson ink bottles.
What size paper does this print up to ?
@@YumBonBon The SureColor F170 can print up to 8.5x14 size. It is smaller than 13x19, but the printer is cheaper and is designed for dye sublimation. Using Epson ink and transfer paper with the F170 should not void your warranty compared to using third party inks. With the SureColor F170 you may also be eligible for Epson SureColor F-Series Rewards as an additional benefit.

I purchased a Epson ET-4760 ecotank printer as I could not find the ET-15000 anywhere... so bummed!! Thank you for this video as it will help me a lot once I receive my printer on March 8th. I certainly hope that I purchased a good printer. I have a Brother ScanNCut and wish you had one so you can make tutorials about it 😀 I use CanvasWorkspace which is quite different from the Cricut software. Thanks you for your awesome video's!!

Does anyone know of if you absolutely have to use sublimation paper? Does laser paper work like it does with infusible ink?
I read on another site that you absolutely have to use sub. paper.
You have to use Sublimation Paper with the Sublimation Ink for it to work properly.

Hi Becky, I just got en epson et 15000 last week and I just started setting it up. I’ve done the print head nozzle check 14 times and it’s still printing out with a lot of missing lines on all colors 😩 I don’t know what else to do. Please of you can help me with this I’d be so thankful. I love how you explained everything here! Thank you
My 400.00 Epson eco tank didn’t last 8 months before it started printing bad and in all pink with lines thru everything ..It was when they first introduced them..
I have been torn between this and the Sawgrass. I think I am sold on this one as it prints larger for the same price, basically. You mention in your comments you are trying Cosmos ink. Hey Leanne! For my WF-7710 I use InkXPro and have been happy. Cosmos Ink is working well also, both colors seem to be vibrant and print from Silhouette Studio with no major discrepancies. Hope this helps! ---Becky

thank you for this video it was great. How is the maintenance with this system, since it is not really made to sublimate how do you keep the heads from blocking up? Do you have a video on it? I would love to watch it and learn from you, again I loved your video?
Luckily I haven't had to perform any maintenance on this printer at all. I've heard that of most EcoTank models, but I do print at least once every few days, so it may be different if you let the printer sit for a long time. Hope this helps! ---Becky

Hey Dedrea! The Sawgrass large-format is quite an investment. I have no personal experience with a Sawgrass, but I do give my thoughts and input from research (and friends) on how Epson compares to Sawgrass, I'll link it below for you. You can only sublimate on light-color surfaces unless you involve a vinyl product like EasySubli or Glitter HTV. Hope this helps! ---Becky

Do we need the heat press pillows, when making shirts 👕? Love love your videos
You don't always need the pressing pillows, although I use them for most projects. They are most needed when pressing items that may have seams or thicker edges like baby bodysuits, polo shirts with collars, those types of things. Hope this helps! ---Becky

Can I set up a hard wire printer with the option of using wifi occasionally?or is it one or the other. And which do you prefer a direct connection or wifi?
I recently purchased this printer and it is great! This video was super helpful...HOWEVER...I am having issues getting it to print the size I am wanting. I used Silhouette Studio and it seemed to print the size I intended. But I normally use Gimp for photoshop things and when I try to print from there it's like it doesn't save the print page settings and will print an 8.5x11 image on my 13x19 paper. Any suggestions or ideas on what I might be doing wrong???
Hi there! Have you tried Canva? It's a very user friendly program that can be used for sublimation and pairs well with sublimation prints as the page size can be adjusted for all different projects and it's easy to upload and store projects! - Dawn 😊

Hey Judy! I do not, other than when this happened with my Epson WF-7710, I would be able to run a few printhead cleanings and go back to printing as normal. Hope this helps! ---Becky

@@judyblaise1639 my suggestion is to at least every 3rd or 4th day, print a nozzle check, this keeps the ink flowing and uses hardly any ink at all, this will prevent the nozzles from getting blocked due to dry ink.

I had the cd so I set it up and then was watching yours. Didnt see until you were done to not to the updates. If it was this huge like the only thing that would ruin your printer. Maybe say that since some people had the cd!
Hey Anna, I'm not sure what you mean, the firmware updates on your printer aren't affected by the CD, the CD is the drivers you need for you computer. Hope this helps! ---Becky
I am curious, once you set up a printer to do sublimation does that mean you cannot use it as a regular printer anymore? I received a StarCraft SOLO for Christmas which apparently has a wonderful Print then Cut capability so I’d like to try stickers but if I put sublimation ink into a printer does that mean it can never go back? I understand as long as there is sublimation ink in the printer it will sublimate but once the tanks are empty can they be filled with regular ink again? Does anyone do stickers and sublimation? If so, do you own multiple printers?
I’m just starting with sublimation and got et16600 that I guess is the same concept just bigger and I have a question. How long it takes to print 1 page with that printing preferences set up you show in the video? Asking because I printed my first 11 x 17 and it took a lil over 5 minutes to print if not longer.

Hey Sainz! It definitely shouldn't take that long to print one page unless it was edge to edge printing? Make sure you you have the print quality set to Standard, that made a big difference for me. Hope this helps! ---Becky

Becky I waited over a year for the Epson et 1500, finally canceled and got the 2803. Had watched several setup videos in past months while waiting on the 1500. Yesterday I made sure to take the original ink to a different room to ensure I put the sublimation in. I was going by the dvd instructions. Turned on the printer went by dvd steps. Added all inks ran test print was missing lines had print blank/ gaps. I ran head cleaner then test print 4 times with same blank/gaps saw Waite 12 hours. I can’t find any information how to solve. Shouldn’t have to clean print heads on new printer especially over and over. Can you help me solve this problem? I don’t want to start again 12 plus hour wait time without knowing the right direction don’t need to cause more problems
