Bro love this video lots of laughs at your expense so sorry lol I am seriously thinking of getting this car Looks durable as heck! Thanks for the video great video!
Man thats quite busy road back there, what a good run, 🙆 My HSP 1/10 went 100kmh with 3s stock 29pinion and 64gear, still ongoing for higher gear soon..
Thanks man! Made more runs today but no joy. The rear end seems to have an issue and the Ford GT body is in tatters. New lid should be here this week and I'm opening up the rear now to see what's going on. We'll get her there!
I just dropped you a sub, I tried to hit 70 out the box also but mine was brushed haha but now it's one of my favorite bash vehicles to drift my culdesac I've been running be Good year Traxxas rally tires what do yellow lettering and they have lasted a ridiculous long time but they have no hook off the line. I don't want to run foams so I ordered a set of protoform vta tires. My first upgrade months back was a castle system.
Let me know how the VTA tires do traction wise. I have ordered some gonebanannas skinz for future speed runs, but It looks like I won't be making any runs until it warms up some. I had some issues with the GRP CV axles I ordered and it took them a month and a half to get me replacement parts.
Thats why I like old fashioned battery straps. Max amp batteries are money! Just get an smc next time. They have nice 120 amp c 3s batteries more than that esc puts out for less than half the price. Esc is 65 amp continuous or 80 at the most and like 320 burst for a second. Thats is most that thing puts out. Like my max 10 its 760 burst but only 120 continuous on my 2wd speed modded stampede that goes 85 on dual smc 2s 75c 8000s on 2650 kv 3674 motor with mod 1 gearing 26p 34 spur. Its on grps and -3° camber in the rear. Has j concepts hi flow speed body with half pound added to the front to keep nose on the ground. I went with rpm mods and s7 grp slicks with 17mm hub adapters. Its pretty wild with that big ass 8th scale system and temps stay safe after 15 minutes of wide open throttle 80+mph passes
@@donaldbarron7916 What video did you watch? These are really dumb and annoying questions! People spend all this time to make a video give you all the information, and still you need someone to hold your hand!
There about as durable as an egg. Some hard body's are stronger then others. But new bright body's with shatter very easy. High speed crash would be end of the body. On side note drifting into a wall would look cool on SlowMo as body shatters on impact
How does that car take the abuse over the runs you put though it? Can you please do a video about a detailed review over this car like how temps are when you run if you know. How many passes you have in that car now and are those xt60 plugs or xt90?
On the EZ Peak charger you mean? or On the ESC? For pure speed runs you really don't need the fan on the ESC. If you plan to make 5 or 6 runs in a row It wouldn't hurt, but chances are you are going to stop every run to check your GPS, reset and go again. I never had too many issues with heat. As for the EZ Peak charger itself you shouldn't need to add any fans to it, but I don't use Traxxas batteries so I can't speak from experience on that.
You're confused on how gearing works a bigger spur gear would make it slower 70t is way too big the pinion gear is what you want to make bigger but they are nowhere near 55-70t
I subbed and appreciate one back. Im having hard time deciding on this car, xo1, or infraction. I was wondering what car holds up best in terms of not blowing out major parts and things overheating. I want it for hard passes and maybe occasional drifts. Can stock system hold up hard bashing on 2s? I know it probably will overheat on 3s if you stay in the pedal with large caps mah batteries running 15+ minutes beating on her hard. Seem like all rc cars you need bigger system to run cooler
Yes you can bash hard on 2s, the gearing is more important than the cells as far as heat is concerned. As far as durability as long as you dn't slam into curbs or crash at 70MPH these things are VERY durable. I can't speak to the other two options as I don't have them. I know the XO-1 is really meant for speed only and not so much bashing.
They are close. The VXL also has turnbuckles all the way around in the suspension. The Brushed car comes with some plastic bars that are non-adjustable. You could easily add turnbuckles to the brushed version as the mounting holes are all there.
ZachAttack498 no the ESC and motor are completely different the brushless is a crap run faster than brushed plus this car that he is running got TSM witch is Traxxas Stability Management plus you can add sensors too
@@diegocastro8772 TSM is a good call out. I actually turn TSM off for just about everything (especially speed runs). TSM really can't keep up with the 4 Tec on 3s. It winds up sending you into a death wobble at speed.
@@ironforgerc4799 Thanks for this info! I just bought the brushed version, mainly because Hobbytown did not have the VXL in stock. I did the math and found that with the coupons I got from buying the car, I could go back and by the Velineon system for a few dollars less overall, and then use the stock brushed system for my 8 year old daughters Rustler which she burned up. Plus the brushed version came with a painted body. Afterwards I realized that I wouldn't have the TSM and was disappointed. Good to know that is not a big deal since it's not very useful according to you on this car anyways.
Well the mah won't have any impact on speed, that's just how much gas is in the tank. If you stick with 3 cell and can get 80-100c you should be able to see the same speeds as mine. If you go 2s you are probably going to cap out in the high 40's.
Haha, fair question! Few reasons, first I'm not the most experienced driver. Second, the location I chose in this video is just plain poor. The road is rough which upsets the cars stability, and it's got a significant crown to it so the car is constantly wanting to turn off to the shoulder. Third, I actually lost a drive pin in one of my axle cups so I was only driving one rear wheel, which further pushed me off to the side, I did not discover this missing part for several runs.
AAAAND THATS WHY MOOOST PEOPLE SHOULD NOT TRY TO HIT TOP SPEED A.S.A.P!!! (EVEN MYSELF IVE BEEN INTO RC FOR THE PAST 8YEARS AND I HAVE MY FORD GT (BRUSHLESS CASTLE SW3 SYSTEM SENSORLESS)(2CELL TRAXXAS LIPO =50ISH MPH AND ITS PERFECT!!!!
To each his own. If you are happy cruising at 50MPH then that's awesome. I prefer to push the limits. They are cheap to work on, easy to fix, and parts are abundant, breaking them is not really a big deal.
@@TheK20eg You can actually drive around a fair bit on 3S with that gearing without issue. If you are ripping on it it will heat up fairly quickly, but just your average cruise around you could go quite awhile before needing to cool it down.
Do you mean the trim knobs? (knob is spelled with a k). You can't out trim a missing axle pin. This is not my first RC car, but it is my first on-road RC.
Great attempt brother! Thanks for taking us on the journey! Congrats on finding everything after a 68mph crash! Unbelievable!!

@@ironforgerc4799 lol! I was just kidding about me getting dizzy.
Can it fit the traxxas rustler 4x4 vxl with some body mods
Yes, I believe it could. I've been considering a Castle system to break the 100 MPH mark.
good review
How fast did you get on stock gearing 29t pinion and 70t spur ?
Right at 70 MPH

Try using the optional high speed gearing, 55t 48p or even 70t 48p. Then you’ll be pumping up to that 70+ mph mark.
How do you do that is it seprate

crazy fast
Did you have to change the gear that came with it are is it the gear that installed with the car
I’m pretty sure he put the high speed gearing on that cane in the box
Mine gets to around 50mph and I can't control it starts to get air borne.
Do you think a 3s 9000mah 100c battery will be too much for the car stock with the optional gearing?
No I don't think it will be too much, the ESC will only draw what it can so having some extra capacity won't hurt. It might be a bit heavy though.
@@ironforgerc4799 yea weight might be an issue but i guess I’ll figure it out thanks for the quick response

actually not much, the body was pretty much ruined, and the battery came out. The only broken part was a wheel cup and a lost dogbone.
