He knows much more about fish than you ever would. He has tons of animals and most of them are fish and are living great. At least he’s putting it in a 10 gallon tank!!
you gotta add some live plants. Add some epiphyte plants (anubias, java fern, buce). They don't require substrate and will add more detail and hiding places for the bettas.
Hey Paul! Glad you got a betta fish but with having females you should have a odd number like 3 or 5. And you need a minimum of a 20 gallon tank. You should also need to have more live plants or hiding places. And you need to filter the water for deceases!
Those 2 females are probably gonna tear each other apart 🥲 Good luck keeping them alive together, you don't even have enough females for a sorority and you have hardly any spots to hide in that tank.
You need a few more females + more plants to make it work and spread out the aggression. Or you could easily divide the tank. Just two and one will end up picking on the other and stress each other out.
@Aspect No one is above constructive critique and all the respect in the world to Paul, but he isn’t a professional. Tommy is a professional. Also I’ve kept betta for nearly a decade so wouldn’t that make a professional as well?
@Aspect the tank isnt fine it is important to cycle a tank even if you have quickstart/benefical bacteria added u need 5 females for a successful sorority in a heavily planted 20g or more tank neither do I recommend buying females at PetSmart for a sorority i recommend just getting non aggressive sisters from a breeder if you plan on keeping a betta by itself it wont matter in my opinion also with other tankmates besides bettas should be fine just depends on the betta but these bettas are likely already dead
Maybe add plants, they help the ammonia levels stay low and make the fish happy, also cycle the tank!I know it can be frustrating waiting but I’m currently in the process of cycling my tank and I don’t mind,I’m using the time to research.
At the start of this video, I was like: YAY Paul is finally buying a good-sized tank for his fish! Once he started implying he was going to try and make a sorority tank I was like... NOOOOOOOOOO! I can guarantee that one of these bettas will be dead within a few days as this tank is far too small for a sorority. For anyone who wants to know how to properly do a sorority, you will need a tank of at least 20 gallons and a plant of cover in the form of live plants, will then need five female bettas, the bigger the tank the more fish you can put in although it must always be an odd number to make sure there a stable pecking order. The most challenging thing about buying lots of them though is you have to add them all at once and once they are in you cannot add any more because adding more will destabilise the current pecking order that the current fish have created and they will all just start fighting. In short, These fish are doomed one to die and one to live the rest of it's life in that horrible tank.
I don't think Paul really cycled his tank, so maybe he should think about doing that in the future so his fish don't stress or get ammonia poisoning. Also, he only got two females for a sorority in a 10 gallon tank, and there's literally no hiding spaces. They'll both get really stressed, and it's possible that one could kill the other one. I'm seriously not trying to be mean, just trying to be helpful so Paul can learn more about taking care of fish. Hope this helps if you see it, Paul!

Is it just me or does anyone else don't like fish tank with artificial plants and decor once you start keeping live planted tank. Love the video though, cool ideas for kids 👍
Yes Paul you will see these comments XD. 10 gallons is actually a decent size. I might only be 13 but I know my bettas and I have owned hundreds and still do. One suggestion is to get more plants. Bettas really like the slow current and love plants. Also I have a name for the 2 of them. Alpha and Omega which stands for begining and end. Have a great day love your content and stay safe
Maybe you should buy a tank divider so you can put one fish on each side of the 10 gallon because those fish are most likely going to fight and kill each other. You can buy a tank divider or make your own!
First of all no hate or anything i like Paul but for the love of god please, pleaseee! cycle your tanks before adding any fish, just because you doused the tank with bacteria doesn't mean is ready to go, cycling can take several weeks up to a month. Also you just did a sorority in a 10 gal with hardly any hiding spots get ready for aggression, It be nice if add some beginner live plants like anubias, java ferns/moss. As a caring fish keeper i wish you would listen to some of us in the hobby who give you tips so you can improve your fish keeping, again no hate just take these into consideration ppl will love you even more if do the right thing.

Tbh , if he used a filter pad from another tank I don’t see anything wrong with starting the tank like that , since the beneficial bacteria is basically kick starting the whole tank
btw this was not hate tward u lol i was just agreeing with u while i was pissed how fish abusers get so much clout like my dude go watch some fish for thaught or like aquarium co-op or KGTropicals but not this guy hes teaching people the wrong thing and many new clueless people trying to get into the hobby are being taught the wrong thing im just saying, u should not be ashamed to hate bcs the guy deserves all the hate he can get he should come back when he educates him self. thank you for reading.
@@Vandamian_hollandlops yea but still even then there are still so many things wrong like a betta sorority with only 2 bettas u need more bcs the more dominant betta will pick on the less dominant versus if there are many they will all distract eachother form just hurrasing the other betta and the filter media does kick start but he should still leave it for at least a week and the fact that he let thoes bettas sit in amonia over night is just sad. btw not trying to get mad at u and if some 8 year old comes at me and tells me ik nothing bcs i cant spell i swear to god i dont have time to chech my spelling when trying to save fish lives like sheesh. thanks for reading.
As a betta owner I have several tips that can help you with this tank. I really don’t recommend painted rocks or decorations because sometimes they can leach toxins into the water. Also just using quick start is not cycling your tank. You NEED a water dechlorinator such as sea chem prime. SEPARATE THESE FISH!!! Bettas WILL fight!!! At least get a tank divider and divide the tank up. This is a really bad idea and will result in losing a fish and one left with severe injuries. Also NEVER EVER hold bettas like that!!!! They have a slime coating that protects them. Don’t hold them out of the water like that either. They have labyrinth organs that need water AND oxygen to survive. The filter needs to be changed as well, switch to an aquarium co op sponge filter. The top fin filters like that are really bad. Please please please if you need help setting up a tank go check out my basic betta care video and comment any questions or ask for advice. I’m going to be uploading series of betta care and basics water conditions. This isn’t hate I just didn’t like what I saw with these little babies. Edit: The under tank heaters are specifically made for reptiles and I really just recommend using the heater that came with the tank. I’ve been using those and never had a fish get burned.
@@4riz_gmzx505 They will end up fighting to the death and the remaining fish will have severe injuries, they bite the others fins off until it cant swim to the top for air.
Finally some real comment. It's sad many people still don't see how wrong it is and clueless on how to build a proper Betta fish tank. I'm a newbie myself and I watched lots of videos to keep myself informed and even as my starter I use all natural stones, and plants. The only right thing I can remember about this video is the size. 10 gallon fish tank is proper for one Betta.
I pray to god , this is your 6th time with a betta please give it a big enough tank this time . High expectations because you have come a long way since the female bettas ! Edit Welp you have smashed it but c'mon man I don't think those plastic plants are good for them . No hate been here since the 3rd vid you have made .
plastic plants are okay as long as it dosent hurt the fish but 10g isnt the best for a betta sorority more like a 20g so u can add more fish to lower down aggresion and add more plants for them to hide.
I personally hate that Bettas are so popularized. I can’t stand that they’re in little containers in most pet stores (for ammonia reasons) and there are so many. Also advertisement makes it seem as if they will be completely fine in small vases or makeshift tanks, or tanks in general with no filter, it blows my mind. Like even buying a small kit like the one you bought is adequate
Might as well only name one of those fish. Even females don't get along half of the time. With such a small tank without many hiding spots, it becomes a matter of when, not if.
It's all good. Paul is an experienced Betta keeper. this is not his first time with multiple Bettas in a tank. In fact he used to have 4 Bettas in a 6.5 gallon along with a bunch of other fish. I mean, they did all disappear but like the good guy that is, he kept them alive for a long time through lies. Never did we see them again but we heard the tales of them still being alive.
Haven’t seen one of ur vids in a while Paul hope ur still doing good love to come back to the channel and see all your updates now and then ❤️❤️ stay safe man

I'm getting a betta fish soon like in 4-5 days! But you need to cycle the tank so there is beneficial bacteria. you also need to make sure you need to acclimate the fish so it dose not DIE from stress because that can happen. And get a heater the water bethel can also die from being too cold the water needs to be 75-80 degrees F°. And make sure the tank is ATLEAST 5 gallons per fish. You should name one memo and squirt
Name the battalion fishes 1 Paul 2 cuffaro

Sometimes it’s nice to have a video on a small fish instead of the giant fish. Keep switching it up Paul!
Your tank size is fine if it's just the betta. Is strongly recommend getting live plants as soon as possible. They like lots of plants and it will promote the health of your tank and fish. Your Def on the right track though
Is it just me or does anyone else don't like fish tank with artificial plants and decor once you start keeping live planted tank.
Love the video though, cool ideas for kids 👍
Name the other pig Penelope. That’s a cool name!
There already is a Penelope
Pretty sure finatic had a goose named Penelope and it’s a sad story
@@kolbybounleuth3946 he had a duck named Penelope. Very sad story.
@@alekm.9616 so probably out of respect he won’t name the pig Penelope
You could call the pig mystery !! It looks like it would fit her ! I know I am 2 yrs late lol
I love when he makes betta tank set-up videos such nostalgia 💛💛
yeah, it really makes you remember the four bettas in the tiny kitchen tank.
@Michael Rasmussen ya and he said they weren't small I been wondering what happened to all the fishes he had they all disappear isn't strange
You should name the pig ‘Pua’ (moana’s pig) as he is full of puppy energy and love intentions
SHRIMP THEY GO AMAZINGLY WITH BETTAS
LETS GET HIM TO 2 M SUBS!!!!!
How have you owned 100s of Bettas at 13? Do they die every 10 day

I just got a “Stars and Stripes” male beta fish in honor of all the fallen troops
Me too
That’s pretty cool
Me to but I switched them out for a veil tail cuz I don’t believe in spending 20 for a fish
Haha thought you were gonna say stars and stripes puffer for a min then 🤣
Maybe you should buy a tank divider so you can put one fish on each side of the 10 gallon because those fish are most likely going to fight and kill each other.
As a caring fish keeper i wish you would listen to some of us in the hobby who give you tips so you can improve your fish keeping, again no hate just take these into consideration ppl will love you even more if do the right thing.
tbh u should not b ashamed to "hate" bcs this guy knows nothing abt fish u need at least 4 betta fish for a betta sorority he probablly hes not even heard of a betta sorority he just does not know anything and wanted to experiment. i mean admit it this guy should just stick to farms he has no idea how to care for fish did u see his betta falls tank ong mans was like "I tHaUgHt It WoUlD bE sMaLlEr" dude if he rlly thaught it would be smaller then .2 gallons what was he thinking. i mean not to rage but my guy knows nothing.
@@Vandamian_hollandlops yea but still even then there are still so many things wrong like a betta sorority with only 2 bettas u need more bcs the more dominant betta will pick on the less dominant versus if there are many they will all distract eachother form just hurrasing the other betta and the filter media does kick start but he should still leave it for at least a week and the fact that he let thoes bettas sit in amonia over night is just sad. btw not trying to get mad at u and if some 8 year old comes at me and tells me ik nothing bcs i cant spell i swear to god i dont have time to chech my spelling when trying to save fish lives
like sheesh. thanks for reading.
If u think he’s a fish abuser u should see his salt water tank
The other female pig you should name her Everest or blossom something earthy to match willow
Love this idea hope this us seen🙏👍❤
I agree but I feel like he should go the tree rout like willow and work or some thing like that
You should get some cherry shrimp because they would go well with the cooler
Bettas would probably kill em out of stress.
Name her Shadow! You said she’s super finicky, she’s dark, and she looks like she would be scared of her own shadow !! :)
I want to see live plants!!!!!!!!!
I feel like since he knows a few things about betta's he would know that they are going to SHRED each other, and the other fish-
Still remember Luna's tank setup ....oh the og,s will never forget these types of vids
But I thought he got females. Females CAN go tgt.....right?
@@4riz_gmzx505 Not unless it's at least a 29-gallon tank with LOTS of hides even then it's really dangerous.
Use more plants to make it look more realistic and remove sushi bar
I pray to god , this is your 6th time with a betta please give it a big enough tank this time . High expectations because you have come a long way since the female bettas !
Edit
Welp you have smashed it but c'mon man I don't think those plastic plants are good for them . No hate been here since the 3rd vid you have made .
plastic plants are okay as long as it dosent hurt the fish but 10g isnt the best for a betta sorority more like a 20g so u can add more fish to lower down aggresion and add more plants for them to hide.
Dude shut up you’re not a expert clearly you didn’t watch the whole video

- I’ve been watching you from so long and never get tired
I personally hate that Bettas are so popularized. I can’t stand that they’re in little containers in most pet stores (for ammonia reasons) and there are so many. Also advertisement makes it seem as if they will be completely fine in small vases or makeshift tanks, or tanks in general with no filter, it blows my mind. Like even buying a small kit like the one you bought is adequate
AGREE BETTAS DESERVE 5+ GALLON TANKS!!!
YALL ARE SPEAKING STRAIGHT FACTS!
Hi paul. You inspired me to get pigs. I have had them for 2 years now. Love the vids❤❤
Please see my UA-cam😊🌈
Piggy piggy
I think the rock cave would look better in there than the shushi bar and your betta would love that too 😊
Yeah same
But it’s his choice so
Might as well only name one of those fish.

That knows how to take care of a betta fish
With the correct care and big tank
All I have to say is thank you
But add more live plants and places to hide..
Is it though? He needs to add more and move them to atleast a 20-30 gallon with yeah more plants and hides. Also a fishless cycle. Love the guy but he really overlooks a lot of important care for Bettas in particular.
nope. he is a demon.
call her Haley it would fit her perfectly
Paul you should look into getting a dart frog vivarium!!!
One day some of us will be successful in life 😍
I’d prefer two of those plants that’s they lay on so the females don’t fight over one or just remove it ot can cause a bunch death match of dead
not 2 bettas especially without a huge planted tank they are most likely going to fight
ya he didnt even cycle the tank either
They’re both females so they most likely won’t fight. If they were two males it would be a bloodbath😂
@@sarahmorris121 not true, females are still aggro and have a cichlidae mentality and need the line of sight breaks or or the overcrowding to negate aggression.
@@oxdg827 he didn’t need to because he used a quick start. Would have been better if he did cycle it but it is fine
@@capsaicin750 you need to cycle so the when the benefical bacteria is at the point of being able to eat ammonia and nitrates

Yup i have a fever. 😂 Beautiful tank and Bettas!
You’d think a big successful you tuber like Paul Cuffaro would know that you can’t home Bettas of either gender together (apart from sororities), except from species like imbellis. Poor fish keeping from someone who would consider them self a large influence to younger/newer hobbyists
You can keep females together if there is a decent amount of space for them to hide. I have kept some together and never had issues. They just need lots of space, or hiding places. 😉
@@kristinastrait3774 To be fair and you’re right there, I just forgot to list sororities. I actually have one planned in a 37 gallon
Needs WAY more decor and hiding spots. This is a disaster waiting to happen.
Also the fact he's teaching people that it's perfectly okay to not cycle a tank.. I have a lot of love for the guy but this is poor form
@@eleanorkeast5182 yeah he’s essentially referring both those fish to a fish in cycle, but I don’t think he’ll even go as far as to water change the ammonia/nitrite away
@@kristinastrait3774 it’s only 10 gallons tho. If you’re housing 2 bettas together then you need at least 20 gallons because they’re extremely territorial.
Really proud of you from upgrading from a bowl to a 10 gallon
I'm getting a betta fish soon like in 4-5 days!
But you need to cycle the tank so there is beneficial bacteria. you also need to make sure you need to acclimate the fish so it dose not DIE from stress because that can happen. And get a heater the water bethel can also die from being too cold the water needs to be 75-80 degrees F°. And make sure the tank is ATLEAST 5 gallons per fish. And make sure nothing is too sharp because bettas are very delicate. And you need to have a odd amount of fish. These are all VERY important tips for bettas.
