Nice list man! I'm a very recent Sanderfan, so far I've only readl the mistborn novels, Elantris and some of his Novella's but I'm pretty hooked. I'll be hitting Stormlight real soon I'm pretty hyped for it, they seem to be some of his most popular books. Also, it was nice to see a Harry potter book included, it was a huge part of my childhood and I still have tons of fun going back to Hogwarts now and again.
Not a booktokker, but it's good to see a new face on booktube, so hey dude, good to have you here. Favourite fantasy story, though it is a horror story too, is Cabal by Clive Barker. The movie adaptation, Nightbreed, leans way more into the dark fantasy side of things which creates a kind of tonal dissonance between the two works (especially with the kind of goofy, early 90's movie feel that it has,) but both are incredible in their own right. My favourite fantasy book, in terms of how it's written, is The Heroes by Joe Abercrombie. I love an anti-war war novel and that book, with the characters, and the sequence where the character perspective changes every times someone kills someone else, is genuinely stunning.
My top 5 (personally) Fantasy books: 5: The Hobbit 4. The Coming of Conan the Cimmerian 3. Ill Met in Lankhmar 2. Elric of Melniboné 1. The Broken Sword
Huge Tolkien and Robert e Howard fan . I finished the Broken sword recently, one of my favorite books ever . And I have Elric and I’ll met in Lankhmar . Will be reading them soon . Great list good sir .
I am overjoyed. Seeing more guys, more POC on BookTube!!! This made my week. Also, thank you for the amazing video and the content I look forward to. Really wishing you all the best on your journey and thanks for inspiring me. Much love from South Africa 🇿🇦
Prisoner of Azkaban was a real game changing book for my love of reading too. I think what is magical about that book is how it totally redefines so much of what we the reader know about the world without changing any of the foundation laid in the first two books. It's all the same as it always was, Harry - and by extension the reader - is just looking at it differently.
If you love fantasy, be sure not to burn yourself out on the epic stuff (I know I did). There's some shorter, pulpier fantasy that's just as good that also make great "in-between" reads. The Elric Saga, the Fafhrd and Gray Mouser series, and Chronicles of Prydain are all quick and crazy good.
I could listen to you talk about anything, but I'm especially happy that it's about books! As a kid, HP & TPoA is also what captured my imagination and turned me into the person I am today. Welcome to UA-cam and I can't wait to see more!
Oh, don't worry, The Sword of Kaigen is one of THE most highly acclaimed self-published fantasy in the booktube community. I agree with everything you said about Words of Radiance; the 'arena' scene is one of the best in fantasy 😁
I love your tiktok vids and loved this first UA-cam video. As a recommendation maybe you can try to center the video a bit more horizontally and vertically. Also, maybe you can try videos standing up! This was a great first video!!
Prisoner of Azkaban gave me that same feeling when I read it for the first time in 4th grade. Always chasing it ever since then! Definitely formed my love for reading because it was nothing but fun. You articulated that feeling well in this video! Keep it up
I never subscribed so fast ❤️ reading words of radiance right now. I have not read mistborn trilogy yet but mistborn got my husband out of a reading slump of 5+ years so I believe you. And oh man and the prisoner of Azkaban 100%, i felt everything you said.
Hell yeah! Gods we need more men of color in the booktube space. Booktube is mostly dominated by women, which is fine. The ladies reviewing our books are lovely. But I’m a young Indian dude and it’s nice to see another man of color in the literature space. Really looking forward to seeing your channels growth bro.
So glad you’re on UA-cam! I deleted tiktok cos brainrot but missed your recommendations. Because of you, I read The Sword of Kaigen and loved it! Can’t wait to follow your BookTube journey!
I also love words of radiance, the prisoner of Azkaban, and Mist Born. My top 10 are 1. The Tale of 2 Cities 2. Beyonders 2 3. Stone of Tears 4. Words of Radiance 5. Fablehaven 4 6. The Way of Kings 7. Magic ship 8. Wizards First Rule 9. Mistborn 1 10. Lord of Chaos
I'm new to your channel, and I love its format. There is no fluff, just straight-up book talk, siimple, informative, and to the point. I also now have more to add to my TBR, and I look forward to more videos from you!!
Love the Mistborn trilogy, its the series that got me started in reading fantasy. Mostly though I'm so happy to see you put "The Rage of Dragons" on this list. When I first read this book it was new and didn't have many reviews. I figured i'd give it a try and if it sucks i'll shelve it and read something else. Nope, it was awesome! I had so much fun reading it that when i finished it all I could think was I wanted to contact this new author and make sure he keeps writing!
welcome to book tube! I always like to recommend Malazan… it’s a series not for everyone, but for the people it is for it is almost always in their top 5 series. excited to see more videos!
So glad to see more diversity in booktube and esp in the fantasy community. It also sounds like you have great taste! I recently joined booktube as well and would love to collaborate if you’d be down for that! I wish you all the best
Great list, love the Sanderson picks! Way of Kings is my favorite Stormlight book so far though. The way it builds to the end with the mystery of the Parshendi, Kaladin's chartacter arc - so good.
I literally bought Rage of Dragons based on a book rec last year! I need to read it. Thank you for sharing your book recs with us! I typically read romance and memoirs, but lately, I have been picking up fantasy novels and giving them a chance. An Ember in the Ashes was good and Children of Blood and Bone.
I just read the sword of Kaigen because of your recommendation and it got me out of my reading slump. It is such a beautiful piece of work with the perfect blend of action, worldbuikding, and emotion. Tyyyyy
I haven't been reading much fantasy lately, but I watched this from start to finish because of your enthusiasm! It makes me want to pick up a book right this second. Looking forward to more videos. And love the library.

Rage of Dragons series!!!!!! Can't wait until the third book. Excellent list, keep up the great work.
Series is incredible honestly! Thank you!
Love the video brother and happy to see you starting this!
@@shanecavanaugh4679 happy to be here!
Appreciate that and yea I have Joe Abercrombie on my list this year for sure
My top 5 (personally) Fantasy books:
5: The Hobbit
4. The Coming of Conan the Cimmerian
3. Ill Met in Lankhmar
2. Elric of Melniboné
1. The Broken Sword
I haven’t checked these out yet so you just added some to my list!
Where is asoinf😭😭
you gotta look into asoiaf brother, happy reading.
Huge Tolkien and Robert e Howard fan . I finished the Broken sword recently, one of my favorite books ever . And I have Elric and I’ll met in Lankhmar . Will be reading them soon . Great list good sir .
Hell yeah, love that Mistborn trilogy love. I really want to see that adapted into a movie or TV series.
You and me both!
honor is dead... but I'll see what I can do!!!!!
I am overjoyed. Seeing more guys, more POC on BookTube!!! This made my week. Also, thank you for the amazing video and the content I look forward to. Really wishing you all the best on your journey and thanks for inspiring me. Much love from South Africa 🇿🇦
@@sirralton ahh so amazing thank you!
Shelf tour please. Love your Tiktoks. Happy to see you on BookTube x
Might have to do it!
Yes spot on!
Thanks for the heads up!
Somebody recommended Chronicles of Prydain as an introductory series for fantasy. I will check it out :)
I could listen to you talk about anything, but I'm especially happy that it's about books! As a kid, HP & TPoA is also what captured my imagination and turned me into the person I am today. Welcome to UA-cam and I can't wait to see more!
Thanks for the welcome and yes the prisoner of Azkaban turned me into the reader I am today as well!
Love your vids, love your tiktoks! if you havent read the shadow of the gods, please do!
It’s on my list for sure!!
@@Smitty1423 Perfect, im sure you´ll love it. the third and final book comes out this October. Keep up the great work
Shadow of the Gods....soooooo good!
@@macgal74 it’s on my list!
Oh, don't worry, The Sword of Kaigen is one of THE most highly acclaimed self-published fantasy in the booktube community. I agree with everything you said about Words of Radiance; the 'arena' scene is one of the best in fantasy 😁
Peakkkkkkk
I love your tiktok vids and loved this first UA-cam video. As a recommendation maybe you can try to center the video a bit more horizontally and vertically. Also, maybe you can try videos standing up! This was a great first video!!
@@sofiabonilla9569 got you thanks for the advice!
Prisoner of Azkaban gave me that same feeling when I read it for the first time in 4th grade. Always chasing it ever since then! Definitely formed my love for reading because it was nothing but fun. You articulated that feeling well in this video! Keep it up
Ahhh so glad you agree!
Rage of Dragons has some of the best fight scenes I’ve read.
It’s so insane
I never subscribed so fast ❤️ reading words of radiance right now. I have not read mistborn trilogy yet but mistborn got my husband out of a reading slump of 5+ years so I believe you.
And oh man and the prisoner of Azkaban 100%, i felt everything you said.
That’s incredible!
Hell yeah! Gods we need more men of color in the booktube space. Booktube is mostly dominated by women, which is fine. The ladies reviewing our books are lovely. But I’m a young Indian dude and it’s nice to see another man of color in the literature space. Really looking forward to seeing your channels growth bro.

Thanks for the suggestion on Evan Winter! It's a name I heard but never saw on a shelf, so going to try to order online.
You got to let me know what you think!
I'm new to your channel, and I love its format. There is no fluff, just straight-up book talk, siimple, informative, and to the point. I also now have more to add to my TBR, and I look forward to more videos from you!!
@@stephaniesanders544 love that so much! Thank you!
@@Smitty1423 You're welcome! I added Sword of Kaigen to my TBR on my Kindle and it's free if you have Kindle Unlimited!
Heard about rage of dragons a little here and there but you convinced me to pick it up next time I come across it!!
This might be your sign!
welcome to book tube! I always like to recommend Malazan… it’s a series not for everyone, but for the people it is for it is almost always in their top 5 series. excited to see more videos!
I will look into it!
I have been looking for someone like you forever. Thank you for existing
We here ✊🏾
2 minutes in and just wanted to say that I love the ambience you've created here and the genuine love for books. Keep that energy 🌟
I appreciate that so much!
Great picks! Its so hard to rank my favorites, but i love seeing others do it. Watching the list evolve over time as new books are added is fun too!
Yes for sure!
So glad to see more diversity in booktube and esp in the fantasy community. It also sounds like you have great taste! I recently joined booktube as well and would love to collaborate if you’d be down for that! I wish you all the best
Thank you!
Great list, love the Sanderson picks! Way of Kings is my favorite Stormlight book so far though. The way it builds to the end with the mystery of the Parshendi, Kaladin's chartacter arc - so good.
@@jacksonr260 nice!!
You should read it I think you would
Love Rage of Dragons
Finding your tik tok page a while ago was great. I was tired a constantly being recommended romantasy and smut
I just read the sword of Kaigen because of your recommendation and it got me out of my reading slump. It is such a beautiful piece of work with the perfect blend of action, worldbuikding, and emotion. Tyyyyy
@@Dragunluvr ahh this is so incredible and that book holds a special place for me
I haven't been reading much fantasy lately, but I watched this from start to finish because of your enthusiasm! It makes me want to pick up a book right this second. Looking forward to more videos. And love the library.
