I love kink, but I went with a Framed Attack for $138.00. It has a tri-moly frame, the only thing is, it has loose bearings and an American BB. I upgraded the BB and headtube with sealed for $60.00 and it is amazing now! All for under $200.
Sup Dougsterbob! I'm looking to get a kink whip. I'm 5'6", used to ride a 21tt back in the day jumping dirt. should I try a 20.5tt or 20.75tt or should I stick with the 21tt?
My whip is perfect for me. I’m 5’6” barely I don’t care for the long chain stay but I think the shadow 19s I ride and the geometry of the Merritt bars make up for it
I just bought Kink Cloud,,,,its because ive no many choice of bmx in my country,,,i actually want sunday ex julian ortega,,,but i could not buy it in my country,,,,so it is was it is,,,its kink cloud finally,,,tq for this channel & Bro Doug,,,
Great video man was on the fence between the Gap and Whip. (My 8 year old son has a 2023 Gap) Ordered the Whip today! As a 40 year old rider with my newest bike a 1991 I'm excited to ride modern
Hey, i just bought a Fitbike co Prospect, pretty much new, its stock. Is it any good? would somebody recomend it for early to mid level? and doing trails. I dont see that much reviews of it but got my attention and we dont have that many choises in Argentina, thanks in advance.
I’m in between 5’6 and 5’9 and thinking about getting eaithet the drifter or a gt performer I’m a little over 200 pounds witch one should I get 26’ or 29 inch
Interestes to know your thoughts on the stolen Zeke 26". All chromoly double wall rims, I got a 2022 for 440 which seemed like a great deal. Do you have a. Review of this!
Thanks for this video I’m 35 and used to ride a lot when I was a teen and want to get back into it , and the kink switch looks good for me I’m 5’11 and 185 lbs so that seems good for me I’m not doing anything crazy maybe some grinds and some 6 stair 180’s if I still got it 😂also it’s upgradable so not worried about it , just some better tires and chain , maybe some different other things and also I’m painting that Frame because it looks naked and ugly , so maybe spray it orange and put some decals on it
As a 47 year old new to BMX I love your videos. I ride a 2013 Kink Whip and love it. But a few people at the skateparks have suggested it is too small for me. I'm 5'9" and around 175 pounds thinking of getting the Whip XL. Should I do that or just stay with the normal Whip?
IMHO there's no better bike for the price than the Kink Whip. Full chromo and a solid build out of the box. Only reason to spend more is more aggressive geometry.
Picked up a mint 2014 Norco Nail for 220 cad. Full chromoly frame, forks, bars, crank, integrated headset, double wall rims and sealed hubs front and rear. Why would anyone drop 400 plus usd on a bike and get none of those things?
I agree and that applies to after market frames and not complete bikes. Typically the people buying complete bikes are brand new so they don’t have a baseline for determining “preference” so that’s kind of irrelevant anyone riding longer than a year understands the discrepancies between sizing of different parts but new riders need a general recommendation to make their first choice
@@Dougsterbob I just think it would be helpful to throw in maybe a one liner like it’s also personal preference. A lot of people may watch especially those that are new to the game and think they have the wrong bike when toptube length is not gonna make or break a rider. I have been riding for 13 years and have rode a little bit of everything. I believe that chainstay length plays more of a role than TT.
Dont buy completes at all, just build. If you do it smart, it doesn't come out super expensive, and you get a quality bike. That being said, I think the high tensile steel thing is hyped up too much in a negative way. Everyone hears these things and then think the bike is gonna break on their first bunny. Like not even walmart bikes do that. But they will never get this silly notion out of their head because they hear it so much by everyone. How many people have actually ever broke a frame, from the average riding? Most dont have that experience.
Wish you and others in the BMX review space would quit calling the bikes build specification their "quality" a WeThePeople hi-ten bike is probably better QUALITY than a cult chro-mo bike despite being lower BUILD SPECIFICATION. It's confusing to people who may not understand what you're actually saying.
Dougster Bob is back! I myself, being 5’8, love a 13.25 back end. Perfect for all styles of riding.

20.5 TT is best, I'm also 5'6
Love the wipe-off board explanations as it covers most every question I have on geometry and the impacts. Thanks for another great one.

It seems like doug is whipped on the whip! Btw Im pregnant doug! With twins! 😅
Just bought the 2025 whip, looking to buy, a gyro, hub guards, and pegs, can you guys help me pick some good ones
Miss ya Doug🥹
I get why you’re drawing, but where did your moving graphics go?
Anything good for a rider that is 200lbs and 5'11'? Looking at the Whip vs Whip XL.
Get the whip XL I’m a tall rider and bigger frames are a must. I reccomend buying a set of 10inch rise handlebars aswell trust it’ll help your back
@@nate2966Thanks. If I get 10” bars, do I need to adjust the brake cable or replace it due to the higher rise?
I’m 5’6, do you think a kink switch is too big for me, or would it be ok. I’m done growing fyi
depends gotta sit on it and see how it feels. I,m 4,11 and still growing and i feel great sitting on a 21" tt
