The Altberg Tabbing Boots are by far the best boots for the military. I've tried them all (hanwag, lowa, etc.). I have a wide foot to the point where finding boots that fit is difficult. This company allows you to purchase the tabbing boot in an Extra-Wide version, they will also let you do split sizes so you can order a 1/2 up for your dominant foot if it's bigger, just contact the sales rep on their website. The soles of the boots almost have a 'bounce' to them so you'll immediately see your forced march time get better and they're so comfortable that they encourage you to walk. I really can't say enough good things about this company and am making this comment as a sort've "Thank You" to them and to help anyone else who may be on the search for duty boots
What a lovely guy. A nice video that’s also very informative. As a side note, I’m interested in a new pair of walking boots (and some shoes if I can stretch to it) and I’m just about to book an appointment with a company 2.5 hours away (in Yorkshire) to get a fitting, since they stock Altberg’s. After seeing this, I really do believe that the A-Forme is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Very much looking forward to seeing what they can show me.
As more and more people discover the benefits of allowing their feet to keep (or re-find) their natural shape (toes splayed and wide, not scrunched up from years of being squeezed into narrow, poorly designed shoes), those people will seek out brands who will/can produce footwear to support them. It doesn’t surprise me that Altberg are on board with this, they make the best boots in the world with customer satisfaction at the forefront of what they do, so I’ll be a lifetime customer 👍🏻
I’ve worn my Tabbing boots for 6 ish years now and had them resoled once. The last shape is amazing and suit my feet perfectly. I can’t go back to a standard last now. The boots are coming to the end of their life now and the next will definitely be replaced by another pair of Altbergs.
