@@chrisanimates99 I used a combination of your tutorial and neonthecoders tutorial to make a system where the weapon is loose on the floor and when you walk up to it you press down to pick it up. I'm having problem where if there are 2 weapons in the same spot then he picks them both up and they overlap. Any suggestions for ensuring I can only pick up a single weapon at a time . Perhaps make it so that the weapon position tag in his right hand can only hold one zone at a time.

Came back to edit, realized that the microchip on the hand was what i needed to zone into instead of the sword when trying to mold the blade into my puppets hand. hope this helps anyone
Could you do a tutorial on directional dodge rolling? I need four separate animations for each direction, but it involves splitting the left analog stick twice and we'll things get messy from there.
Kaneki The character and the weapon you have most likely collide with each other. You might have to turn off the collision on the weapon so the puppet will act right.
Around 4:20, you’ll see I scoped into the hand before stamping the microchip on the hand. Make sure you’re scoped into the HAND and STAMP the microchip on the hand by holding L1 and pressing X. Hope this helps 😃
Phantom Unseen I’m sorry about the trouble. Make sure the tags and wireless receivers are exactly the same. And the tags positioning is right. What part did things start to not work?
Can you do it with working guns to? Also, can you do this with multiple weapons at once? Like right d-pad brings out pistol and left d-pad brings out a melee weapon or something like that?

Get out a keyframe and make sure you’re in edit/animate mode. Now go to your weapon, open the menu of that weapon, and turn off visibility. Now exit animate mode and connect the port from the selector (Either A or B) that activates the unequip wireless transmitter into the keyframe
Toxic Nova Thanks and where do they go? If you press the tags labeled weapon position (or whatever else you named them), the ball with arrows should pop up when you press play. If the arrows don’t show, a circle should be visible. If you move it and then press play, a ball with arrows will show up. Move the ball with arrows to the desired position while the scene is unpaused. If you try to move the weapon itself, it won’t work.
With the selector, whichever port is assigned to a specific gun, make sure you connect that port to that gun’s shooting logic (emitter or whatever you use). For the other gun, do the same thing, but with the 2nd port from the selector. So if port A of the selector is assigned to your first gun, connect port A to the emitter’s power port. If your emitter’s power port is already connected by a wire, then put your emitter in a microchip and then connect port A into that microchip’s power port. For the other gun, connect port B of the selector into the emitter’s power port (again, if you have to, put the emitter in a microchip and connect port B into that microchip’s power port).
Hi! If you mean the Dreamiverse, it works, but people tend to put their own logic in their puppets which can create problems. People also can have rigging and collision problems. However, you should still be able to do this if you remove unnecessary things and add everything you need to get what you want. As far as not being able to open the puppet menu, I don’t know how to fix that unfortunately

Bodee Groos Follow the same steps as the 1 handed weapon equip and you’ll be fine. Now to get your puppet to hold the staff with 2 hands, you’ll just have to position the weapon/hand to make it look like he’s holding it. Idk I haven’t really experimented with it yet
Followed this tutorial for 2 hours rewatching and double checking and still it doesn't register the button input to equip weapon. How do you even enter test mode? I've been having to play check and nothing works. Sword is on my back and shakes vigorously that's all that happens.

I’m the reason??? Man thank you so much! 🙏🏾🙏🏾 There is a way. Just connect the counter gadget associated with the unequip animation to a new keyframe. Now edit that keyframe and go to your weapon. Now open that sculpt (or group... however your weapon is made), and turn off visibility. Now whenever you unequip your weapon, it’ll turn invisible. And nice!!! I hope to see your sculpts in Dreams!!
How would I make it so that when I start running (not walking, I added an L3 to sprint logic) it holsters with out pressing a button cos I don't want the button that unholseters to also be holstering I just want it to be that when I run it holsters. Sorry if this was a long comment but I'm clueless as to how to do this so I need help please.
For some reason I can see your reply in my notifications but I can’t see it here. But basically make sure that you adjust the tag position (the ball with arrows) and not the teleporter position (the ball with no arrows). And make sure you’re scene is unpaused while you adjust it

when i select the tag it doesnt move the weapon but only the small circle and when i press the chosen button it holds the weapon unlike what i want im trying to make a monkey with a banana sword and i dont know how to stop the head moving with the controller
Hmmm... first, turn off the collision in the weapon. Now, when you select the tag, unpause the scene and the weapon should move with the circle. To stop the head moving with the controller, go to the puppet menu, and go to upper body. Go to the first slider that says motion sensor movement and put it at 0.
It’s not working for me and I rewatched the video and redid it 3 times. It only works when I delete one of the wireless transmitters at the end. If not it won’t do anything once I click the right button. Any idea what it could be?
So I followed the tutorial but I was applying it for VR w/ Motion Controllers and it worked but the thing is when I move the hand the weapon stays roughly in the area of the hand but floats around. I’ve scoped the mc way into the hand until I couldn’t anymore, I made sure that the settings said [In Scene] when selecting an area shape. What did I do wrong? Any suggestions?
When I press Play my sword impales the puppet (just like in your tutorial) but I can't seem to reposition the sword. I press the tag and get the xyz arrows, but the sword and the xyz ball move separately and the sword doesn't stay where I put it when I go to Play. Thanks for any help.

VR Artist Easy fix. Don’t move the teleporter’s arrows. Reset the arrows by pressing triangle on them or delete that teleporter and bring out a new one. If you make a new one, name it the exact same as before and turn on those buttons. Now instead of moving the arrows from the teleporter, make sure your in play mode, and press the tag. You’ll see a small circle pop up. While still in play mode, move that circle. If you move it, arrows will start to pop up. You should be able to place the sword however you’d like. And if everything is on and named properly from the teleporter, the sword should be moving with the tag’s arrows.
Love watching these tutorials following step by step only for nothing to work, looks easy sounds easy but never work. Not criticising this video but seems where ever I go it's the same. Thought Dreams would be a little easier to get stuff running. So frustrating. Thanks anyway for trying to help 😤👍👊

It snaps the weapon to the characters back and then the character slowely walks in a random direction, no idea why I even made it to where the weapon doesn't touch the character and still results in him slowely walking forward
Hey man, I did everything in this tutorial correctly except for this. Whenever I press my button to equip and unequip, my weapon only equips and does not unequip. Hopefully you still reply.
@@chrisanimates99 I just fixed it. I used a keyframe and wired it to output D and placed the staff in my characters hand allowing me to unequip. But I couldn't of done it without you man, thanks. :)
How would I make it so two hands hold one weapon. I tried to to do this but only one hand attaches itself to the weapon and the other one won’t. Thanks:)

NoFace Try turning off collision on your sword. If your sword is made up of multiple sculpts, you’ll have to scope into each part and turn off the Collidable button. Also, you’ll have to de animate the arm the sword is with. I’ll send you a video to show you what I mean exactly!

the wolf 01x Okay cool, so connect the selector port “A” to the microchip that has all your combat logic! I’m assuming port A is the port you used to equip the weapon. If it’s port B, then use that. But essentially whenever you’re not in the port that equips your weapon, you won’t be able to attack! Hope that makes sense

Josh Myers Hey Josh! It could be a number of things. Make sure the tag, microchip, and teleporter is powered on. Also make sure you named everything correctly, making sure you didn’t misspell or capitalize something by mistake. If you still have trouble, let me know and send me a video on Twitter or Reddit of your logic and problem!
Hey man! Yeah I've been checking through my logic, everything was named and powered on correctly and all. I think my problem was when placing the microchip I didn't scope into the body part/weapon and group them. Thanks for the help! Plus I saw your newest vid...they are some damn good animations!
Love your vids! Ok so, I had the same issue as 90% of the comments...easy fix, you are not very clear the importance of holding L1 when attaching chips to torso, sword...that was my issue, after watching the video 30 times i realized you quickly said hold L1 when attching...hope this helps

Boxes Have Feelings You probably have to press the tag labeled “weapon position” on the part of the body where the weapon is unequipped. It should bring up either a circle, or a sphere with arrows. Press play and move the circle or sphere to the desired position you want the weapon to be in when its unequipped.
Can some one please get this message to Media Molecule, I cant seem to get it to them. Hi :) I have some important info about improvements that needs to be made in Dreams. Improvement 1: When a player goes to delete a creation they made, it automatically wants to delete all creations that creation is in, this is HORRIBLE. Player needs to be able to un-select that which they don't want deleted so it only deletes desired selection. Improvement 2: When player creates object and then saves it as an individual sculpture, The game needs to NOT keep that individual sculpt linked to anything else in area the sculpt was originally created in, as is it does and this is bad, it makes it so if player ever deletes the area the sculpture was originally created in, the game will force you to delete the sculpture that is sitting in it's own save. Improvement 3: Players need to be able to create and save a collection (Not to be confused with other saved collections function) of there own starting setup areas. You know how when a player clicks on create new sculpture and it brings the player into an area to create things in, and all there is to start is a little peach floor. Well instead of this a player could have an area they have created and then saved as startup area for creating. Example: Lets say a player creates an area that looks like a science lab and then they not only save the creation itself, but they also have the option to save it as a starting area for each time they select create new sculpture. P.S. I LOVE DREAMS Well done MM :)

Then, make sure that the tags, wireless receivers, wireless transmitters, and teleporters are named correctly. If it still doesn’t work, I will be able to fix it! @@chrisanimates99 basically all that happened is it was all normal attached to the body but when I equip it it floats in mid air, the character doesn’t hold it.
@@ah2972 hmm.. I’m not sure. It would be hard to tell since I can’t actually see it. All I can say is it’s either a collision issue or a tag/teleporter issue.
colt b Is the teleporter named the same as the tag on the back? Did you position it right using the tag? Are all the wireless receivers and transmitters named correctly? Is the weapon non-collideable? The weapon might collide with the player which is what you don’t want.
What advice would you give to anyone having issues with this? I’ve followed your directions to the Tee for a Single Weapon, but it just dosent seem to work/teleport into the players hand when I go into play mode and press my designated button input. (Right on D-Pad) I made sure to check everything was named properly etc. so I’m pretty confused here. Any help would be much appreciated. 🤘❤️
Christian Lewis Yes I do, I can send you a short vid if you would like. But as I stated above^^ - it’s just when I press the button input during testing, the weapon does not become equipped. It stays on the puppets back. And from the looks of it I did exactly what you did to the Tee :/

For the other gun, connect port B of the selector into the emitter’s power port (again, if you have to, put the emitter in a microchip and connect port B into that microchip’s power port).

Hi! If you mean the Dreamiverse, it works, but people tend to put their own logic in their puppets which can create problems. People also can have rigging and collision problems. However, you should still be able to do this if you remove unnecessary things and add everything you need to get what you want. As far as not being able to open the puppet menu, I don’t know how to fix that unfortunately

Bodee Groos Follow the same steps as the 1 handed weapon equip and you’ll be fine. Now to get your puppet to hold the staff with 2 hands, you’ll just have to position the weapon/hand to make it look like he’s holding it. Idk I haven’t really experimented with it yet
Followed this tutorial for 2 hours rewatching and double checking and still it doesn't register the button input to equip weapon. How do you even enter test mode? I've been having to play check and nothing works. Sword is on my back and shakes vigorously that's all that happens.

I’m the reason??? Man thank you so much! 🙏🏾🙏🏾 There is a way. Just connect the counter gadget associated with the unequip animation to a new keyframe. Now edit that keyframe and go to your weapon. Now open that sculpt (or group... however your weapon is made), and turn off visibility. Now whenever you unequip your weapon, it’ll turn invisible.

For some reason I can see your reply in my notifications but I can’t see it here. But basically make sure that you adjust the tag position (the ball with arrows) and not the teleporter position (the ball with no arrows). And make sure you’re scene is unpaused while you adjust it

Hmmm... first, turn off the collision in the weapon. Now, when you select the tag, unpause the scene and the weapon should move with the circle. To stop the head moving with the controller, go to the puppet menu, and go to upper body. Go to the first slider that says motion sensor movement and put it at 0.

It’s not working for me and I rewatched the video and redid it 3 times. It only works when I delete one of the wireless transmitters at the end. If not it won’t do anything once I click the right button. Any idea what it could be?

So I followed the tutorial but I was applying it for VR w/ Motion Controllers and it worked but the thing is when I move the hand the weapon stays roughly in the area of the hand but floats around. I’ve scoped the mc way into the hand until I couldn’t anymore, I made sure that the settings said [In Scene] when selecting an area shape. What did I do wrong? Any suggestions?

When I press Play my sword impales the puppet (just like in your tutorial) but I can't seem to reposition the sword. I press the tag and get the xyz arrows, but the sword and the xyz ball move separately and the sword doesn't stay where I put it when I go to Play. Thanks for any help.

VR Artist Easy fix. Don’t move the teleporter’s arrows. Reset the arrows by pressing triangle on them or delete that teleporter and bring out a new one. If you make a new one, name it the exact same as before and turn on those buttons. Now instead of moving the arrows from the teleporter, make sure your in play mode, and press the tag. You’ll see a small circle pop up. While still in play mode, move that circle. If you move it, arrows will start to pop up. You should be able to place the sword however you’d like. And if everything is on and named properly from the teleporter, the sword should be moving with the tag’s arrows.
Love watching these tutorials following step by step only for nothing to work, looks easy sounds easy but never work. Not criticising this video but seems where ever I go it's the same. Thought Dreams would be a little easier to get stuff running. So frustrating. Thanks anyway for trying to help 😤👍👊

It snaps the weapon to the characters back and then the character slowely walks in a random direction, no idea why I even made it to where the weapon doesn't touch the character and still results in him slowely walking forward
SuperSonic1116 it’s simply the collision. Make sure the weapon isn’t collideable, and that should fix it!
Hey man, I did everything in this tutorial correctly except for this. Whenever I press my button to equip and unequip, my weapon only equips and does not unequip. Hopefully you still reply.

@@chrisanimates99 I just fixed it. I used a keyframe and wired it to output D and placed the staff in my characters hand allowing me to unequip. But I couldn't of done it without you man, thanks. :)

NoFace Try turning off collision on your sword. If your sword is made up of multiple sculpts, you’ll have to scope into each part and turn off the Collidable button. Also, you’ll have to de animate the arm the sword is with. I’ll send you a video to show you what I mean exactly!

the wolf 01x Okay cool, so connect the selector port “A” to the microchip that has all your combat logic! I’m assuming port A is the port you used to equip the weapon. If it’s port B, then use that. But essentially whenever you’re not in the port that equips your weapon, you won’t be able to attack! Hope that makes sense

Josh Myers Hey Josh! It could be a number of things. Make sure the tag, microchip, and teleporter is powered on. Also make sure you named everything correctly, making sure you didn’t misspell or capitalize something by mistake. Love your vids! Ok so, I had the same issue as 90% of the comments...easy fix, you are not very clear the importance of holding L1 when attaching chips to torso, sword...that was my issue, after watching the video 30 times i realized you quickly said hold L1 when attching...hope this helps

Boxes Have Feelings You probably have to press the tag labeled “weapon position” on the part of the body where the weapon is unequipped. It should bring up either a circle, or a sphere with arrows. Press play and move the circle or sphere to the desired position you want the weapon to be in when its unequipped.

get it to them. Hi :) I have some important info about improvements that
needs to be made in Dreams.
Improvement 1: When a player goes to
delete a creation they made, it automatically wants to delete all
creations that creation is in, this is HORRIBLE. Player needs to be able
to un-select that which they don't want deleted so it only deletes
desired selection.
Improvement 2: When player creates object and
then saves it as an individual sculpture, The game needs to NOT keep
that individual sculpt linked to anything else in area the sculpt was
originally created in, as is it does and this is bad, it makes it so if
player ever deletes the area the sculpture was originally created in,
the game will force you to delete the sculpture that is sitting in it's
own save.
Improvement 3: Players need to be able to create and
save a collection (Not to be confused with other saved collections
function) of there own starting setup areas. You know how when a player
clicks on create new sculpture and it brings the player into an area to
create things in, and all there is to start is a little peach floor.
Well instead of this a player could have an area they have created and
then saved as startup area for creating. Example: Lets say a player
creates an area that looks like a science lab and then they not only
save the creation itself, but they also have the option to save it as a
starting area for each time they select create new sculpture.

colt b Is the teleporter named the same as the tag on the back? Did you position it right using the tag? Are all the wireless receivers and transmitters named correctly? Is the weapon non-collideable? The weapon might collide with the player which is what you don’t want.
