- Here is some never befores seen footage of Ronnie Montrose from the Msytic theater In Petaluma. this is from a DVD project I directed for ronnie. Ronnie was a friend and I had the pleasure of working with him many times! enjoy this unreleased footage from Global Recording Artists/fatbelly productions and thrillcat media. RIP Ronnie we are going to miss you.
I saw Sammy Hagar in late 1976, or early 1977, touring on his first solo album, 9 On A 10 Scale. Then Ronnie Montrose, in '78. So I got to hear "Bad Motor Scooter", from two different people who should have been playing it and singing it together. But one thing about Ronnie Montrose, he had an eye(and definitely, an EAR) for Rock talent. And THIS UA-cam video, proves it AGAIN!!! The singer, reminds us of Sammy, but he's NOT trying, he's really just another example of talent that Ronnie Montrose hooked up with. And the Megadeth bass player is someone else who should be playing with Montrose. During the '74-79 years Rockers KNEW who Ronnie Montrose was. He was a guitar GREAT, but he didn't do any Nugent screaming, or do ANYTHING but ROCK OUT on his guitar. I was sure sorry to hear about how his life ended, but then again ALL of my ROCK HEROES from the '70s are either IN their 70s or dead. We better enjoy the ones that are STILL ROCKIN'. Ronnie Montrose was a GUITAR MASTER and he ROCKED his ass off!🎸🤘RIP-MONTROSE.
Man, that first Montrose album just blew me away in high school. Wore it out on the Turntable.
Same!

Me too. I couldn't afford headphones so I laid on the floor with 2 speakers either side of me head lol
I was the Chief Sound Engineer at the Mystic for this show.... god I miss mixing him live! Randy Teaford
this makes me believe in some sort of cosmic rock overseer that just lets this rip. JUST THE BEST!
thanks for posting one of the best videos I have seen. The Man was such a great guitarist. I saw him in San Diego early 90s in a few small clubs. I particularly like his instrumental stuff over the decades
Saw Ronnie Montrose at Cobo Hall in Detroit back in the 70's and the show kicked ass!!!!!
Makes me want to hug my guitar and motorcycle
Great footage...RIP Ronnie
That slide that glass jar on his finger that's what makes that noise
Holy Crap...Dave Ellefson on bass
That's just bad assed! RIP Ronnie!
I saw Montrose in the Cotton Bowl in the 70's and they rocked the place. I always thought he was one of the best and so underrated. RIP Ronnie
Excellent rendition of Bad Motor Scooter - long version is always best.
