Thank you so much for the mention, Litsa! It's very much appreciated 🙏🙏💗💗 Great video! I also found this yarn so very, frustrating to work with! You are literally playing yarn chicken with each round - very stressful! And it took waaaay too long to finish just one granny square! Very challenging, but you are right, the colours are lovely. I think it's a great yarn for other projects - blankets, sweaters, beanies e.t.c - but, definitely not much fun to use for making granny squares! Good on you for sticking with it! ❤❤☺☺
Hi Mel 🤗I watched you battle with it and yet…thought hmm 🤔 I’d like to join in the fun! 🤣 Definitely too pretty to pass up, will use it for various makes! 🥰🧶🤩
Hi Litsa! I saw so many videos of people struggling and few that said there wasnt a problem. I only brought this yarn because it was on clearance for $3. (Regular price $8 at Walmart). I tried several times, several times 😳🥴😖. I was determined! and found I had to use normal tension, tighter tension or looser tension using J 6mm hook and I successfully understood that one ball of yarn and made 15 squares😁. I started on another colorway. It's still a bit frustrating but it can be done with a great deal of patience. I make my granny square differently than how you make yours🤔 . Well it can be made into a verigated something 😊 . Thanks for showing and sharing and your patience ❤❤❤
Oh my goodness Litsa!!! I got stressed watching you start over several times. That’s why I didn’t use this yarn for its intended purpose. Crochet is my Happy Place…no stress allowed🤣🤣🤣 I used 2 colors to make 2 of the 6 Boggy Creek blankets…sending pics. Looking forward to seeing what you make with yours!!! Stay safe and be blessed ❤🤗🧶
Colors are very pretty, but no no no I will not do that to myself. If I went through that for every single square I think I would run screaming from the room. I have seen all the others podcasters fighting with this yarn and it really is not for making granny squares. If someone has conquered this yarn I salute you. Thank you Litsa for proving yet again it is not a good choice for granny squares. 🧶🧶🧶
Litsa you have so much patience. I love the colours in the skein. Unfortunately I do not like the way the yarn worked up into the granny square. I would have go very frustrated. The granny square seemed so loose in places and I would never have tree chains in between. Thank you so much for making this video I do love the colours though. Take care. 💜💙
Hi dear Litsa, well done dear lady on your patience and perseverance with that yarn, the colour is gorgeous but definitely not for this old girl, simplicity is my thing 😅😅. I'm proud of you and in the true Aussie spirit you gave it a go. Big hugs and love my friend 🫂❤️
Omg you have so much more patience than I do! I found this entertaining and frustrating at the same time. Good for you for trying. Lynn aka Lynnpenguin 🇨🇦
I really enjoyed this episode. I live in the states and like a lot of crafters I had to try the brand new thing. Oh my gosh. Fortunately, I only bought one. It took me 45 minutes per square. I ended up putting a spike dc in the middle cluster of the 4th rnd because there was to much yarn. However, a few months later a local store had a clearance. Who can pass that up. I found it works great for a hexagon. Good luck with whatever you end up making.
Hi Litsa. This video certainly gave me a chuckle! 😂 I’m glad you gave it a good shot, I’m not that brave. There are to many yarns in the world to fight to make a loose granny square with this stuff.
Hi Shirley 🤗 hahaha 🤣 yep, I knew it would make you chuckle! I just can’t help myself! Hmm 🤔 I’ve got a feeling the challenge doesn’t end here 🤦🏻♀️ watch this space! 🥰🧶🤩
Good on ya for trying this yard, Litsa. I have yet to try it because it seems it's quite tricky to get the squares to work. That said, it's pretty, and I would probably use it as I would another variegated yarn.
I brought some Italian 100% Merino Granny Square yarn, it is beautiful, feels amazing and the square worked first time. Sorry. Lol. I had so much fun watching this video.
Hi Litsa I have a few of these in mill end bags I make blankets for my charity’s and put a plain colour with it, also it is in special at Spotlight this weekend for $12.60 😊
Wow 😳 now I want to know if the next square will work out because the purple was used to finish this 1st square off?? . I don't think I would have the patience to use this a granny square yarn. May be just in some random project where colours changes don't matter. I was watching Mel yesterday playing with this but I'm not sure how she went due to our power and internet going out in the storm, I must go finish the video. I do remember passioknit kelsie made up granny square bags out of this yarn when it 1st came out in America. Can't wait to see what you do end up making with it 😊
Hi Thea 🤗 I watched Mel yesterday too, that’s how I found out Spotlight was selling it…I was avoiding going, even binned the $25 voucher, had to find it! 🤣 I haven’t given up on making a granny square…watch this space! 🥰🧶🤩
Hi Litsa, this was fun to watch even if it didn't go the way you wanted. I've not tried that yarn, I decided it wasn't worth the hassle for me 😂 which I'm not big on putting squares together anyway. I am interested to know what your other ideas are so that will be fun to know! I have wondered how it would work up in other projects instead of purely just for granny squares, I imagine it would be similar to a variegated/striping yarns on the market. I do know Red Heart has changed their yarns over the years and it is so so much softer now. I got some old skeins from a thrift store when I first started crocheting and that was some rough stuff, like rub your fingers raw 😂 But it always washes up soft regardless. I do think it depends on the dye and the time of when it was made. They are definitely a great yarn company with so many beautiful colors though and that is why it has lasted so long I think. Thanks for sharing this experience 🤗❤️
Hi Julie 🤗 I’m glad I made you giggle! 🤭 I actually had fun battling with the yarn! The colour combos are beautiful! And yes, I agree with you, using it like any other striped or variegated yarn would work! 🥰🧶🤩
@cocoscrochet6380 yes there are some beautiful color combos for sure and it really is helpful for those that have a hard time putting colors together. Even just to copy a similar color pallet with other yarns too! ❤️
Hi Litsa, I elected to NOT make grannies with my all in one yarn. I had a feeling it would be an exercise in frustration for me... 🙃 I made hats, and liked it enough that I bought several more colorways to make more of hats this coming season. Have fun, and a great day as well. 🐞
I've seen this yarn in several stores here in Colorado, and I walk on by. I've watched too many experienced crocheters struggle with it. I'm a patient person, but this yarn just seems impossible. I'll be curious to see what you decide to do with the yarn!
I love this yarn but I just use it in blankets as is instead of making the squares. But that's only because I don't enjoy sewing squares. I think if anyone can make it work it's gorgeous.
The pattern only requires you use 3 chain between the corner clusters, not the others. The other clusters are just 1 chain. Not that it would have made much difference to the end result. It also has you starting each new round in a corner - thus you slip stitch to the corner.
@@cocoscrochet6380 in all honesty I dont think it would have made any difference to the end result lol... Wow! What a fantastic yarn! Thank you, Litsa ❤
