Nicely done, technique and video editing 🙂

Let me know when I'm over-doing it with the "whoosh" sound effect. I won't stop, but it'll be nice to know ;)

Love it brother! I like playing/carrenza with a Krabbi length stick and then experimenting with different grips to modify the length and or switching hands.

It's funny, I have to *really* think about it to change/modify my grip during sparring - I get pretty single-minded.

@@gurobadger Yeah it can be hard; IMHO I think Carrenza is a good way to play and learn to hide the switch but at the same time gotta be wearing the same gloves and gear to get used to it, everything is slightly easier when the adrenaline isnt pumping and you got kind of clunky gloves on. DogZilla would always have us drill with our gear own when prepping for some events. I keep talking, I really gotta get on the ball and sharing some videos or something. I'm hoping to get my stuff together and hit BC, LA and Montreal in 2024. Im C-Kumu Dog, need to earn my FDB. #oldmanstillcan

This is a move that you actually see a lot in historical Canne de combat (French stick fighting) I'd be very interested to hear your opinion on this martial art !

I wish I had the opportunity to train it - I've seen videos, and it looks like it has some awesome technique and strategy. The wide variety of stick-fighting styles is constantly astounding to me. I mean, it's possibly the simplest weapon humans ever developed, and yet somehow we kept coming up with new methods to use it.

Your timing is impeccable - I was starting to practice this again just yesterday (along with some redondo work)!
The 'abaniko' (a new term to me) looks a bit like a 'watic' to my eyes, what's your take on similarities/differences?
Cheers for the vids, as always 🤩

There's similarities between the two. I would define "watik/witik" as any strike that starts on one side of the body, and returns to that side without crossing the centerline.
Abaniko (which means "fan") is done by rotating your forearm. Imagine your hand held up in front of you - rotating your palm so it faces away and towards your face, making a fanning motion with the stick. That would be the horizontal abaniko.
I suppose that's my cue to make a video on abaniko!

It seems so strange to me, that it might be *that* uncommon, but I guess that's the case. Been a lot of interest in this video lately.
