I love that mustard gold color! They’ve completely muted all the colors offered for the rav4. Ruby flare pearl or Calvary blue are the most “exciting” paints you’re going to get in the US now. We need something fun like that!

my friend did the same thing 50 years ago, he took a 1964 Buick and cut off the roof and trunk and called it a pickup, i'm guessing he now works for toyota
If Toyota sold a RAV 4 all wheel drive hybrid ute in Australia even with a light payload max 750kg they would be flying out the door especially at 5.5L per 100km fuel consumption. Would have to be 4door or space cab though.
I agree that it is strange, at least to my eyes, anyway--I think Toyota is already in good shape with the 2024 Tacoma and the Tundra, so no need for this!

Basically the same concept as my 1st gen 4Runner. The rear roof was removable to expose the rear seats and open cargo area with a built in roll bar.

I ain't mad at it. Just test drove a friends RAV-4 Prime, and the thing was ZIPPY. So yeah, I'd love a Ute version of it
If they did the stout based off it would be nice but with extended cab. Maybe a increased towing with better trans cooler, and radiator.

Its based on a Rav4, no 4X4. Itll be AWD at best, but based on a FWD crossover platform, not a true truck frame.

No, that was a body on frame. This is unibody, nowhere near as capable when it comes to actual truck work like towing or off roading.

Listen, add a cover for the back so it looks like a regular pickup. Make a gas, hybrid and prime version.
Toyota needs to bring back the bolt on/removable hard top (avoiding the chicken tax)!
This exercise helps Toyota to build people and future technology.
Here in Australia i can tell you we would hate it, a normal single cab pick up with tub rear would be interesting however with all elecctric or hybrid
