    the truth is that everyone want to see the results straight away by being very impatient... it takes time and dedication... I find people are too soft these days, the first no or first criticism they take it personal or start to have self doubt.
    Focus on the journey, not the destination 😀

    Boom! another gem right here. The punch line at the end is the key, well done BURTISMO! Know what? I've been out of socials for about 6 months or more because of this exactly, as artists getting our shit done exactly the way we want it to be delivered to the world could be a lifetime thing. I was feeling overwhelmed about wanting to freaking hit every social and every streaming platform, one day I realized that my craft was not ready yet, also I realized that I was not actually aware of how everything works out there (marketing) I honestly needed a bit more time to get closer to what I had in mind for my brand, and I've been improving as hell, Im actually going back to business stronger than ever next year... but hey, don't get me wrong, one thing is to endlessly procrastinate and one thing is to be patient, don't get confused, you will never stop learning and improving till the day you die, thats a fact and its what is life about, but be honest to yourself, find your weaknesses and your strengths and build from there, eventually you will piggy bank that bump and you will say "Holly crap! Im good at this shit" trust me, as BURTISMO said Patience is Key.

    Great info girl. I can add that a big issue with marketing can be in not knowing the correct demographic to market to (especially when using paid ads). Taking 6 months to try all kinds of ads (pictures and videos, using different songs, and targeting different audiences) will be time well spent for any artist. And being patient with your learning curve is very important. Keep up the good work, and thanks for sharing!

    You're so right about ads, people think because they pay they MUST get engagement but running ads myself I realised there are posts that just perform much better and it's worth promoting them for a longer period of time. My short cover of "Thank You" by Led Zeppelin got me 100+ new followers, 4.5k views, 208 likes, 33 saves, 31 comments, all in a week with like $35 budget, and it's a freaking cover! 😅🤦‍♂️ One of my earlier promotions got me like 5 followers at the same price, so yeah there can be a dramatic difference based on the content.

    • @Burstimo

      There's definitely a balance to strike between "wanting it just right" and finishing stuff. The vast majority of new music I hear is very so-so. They should definitely up their game. But at the same time, if you are consistently spending months on tracks rather than weeks, it's time to loosen up a little.

I have only been uploading covers on my insta and official youtube channel etc but I am saving my original music to be released when I have them finished in the studio. youtube is a harsh world the algorythm send you an x amount of traffic if peopol like the content they give you more and more until turning viral (for free) if you have a normal song meh you need ads and a ton of ads if you wanna compete with the comercial release i'm speaking about thousands of dollars spent multiple times remember one single HIT can make the difference

    I've been in the music business since 1985. I've been signed to major labels, done all kinds of deals, have put lots of promotions and tours together, worked with Steve Jobs, Richard Branson, Universal, Sony and countless others and I can tell with with certainty that only a very very few bands have the knowledge or objectivity to know if they're any good. They all think they're amazing. The last people to consult if a band is any good is the band themselves. They don't know how to write, they don't know that writing is a learned skill, they just don't fucking have a clue, and they don't know that they don't know. "But all our friends tell us we're amazing". If the public isn't responding its because the writing sucks and probably the production and everything else. Very hard lesson to teach. Most never get it. ALL successful artists agree with the above. Ask them.

    What a joke It Is when I see these youtubers say that your music is not good enough as a reason for not becoming famous and a bit hit as ir we were such a stupid audience as to not notice the kind of crap being played on all the major playlists worldwide.

    • @robertojefferson3428
      @robertojefferson3428 2 роки тому +1

      Right !!! We'll see if they told you the truth then services like these would go out of business. The marketing isn't working because it's oversaturated, full of scams , and everyone is trying to do the exact same thing. There is no universal marketing plan that works with music.
      How come there are very successful mid level artists and bands with small streaming numbers that sell out thousand person shows all over the country that don't have to spam Facebook pages,create content about how to promote music, and buying playlist spots? Because these things don't actually translate to real world success.

      I love your point. Way too much focus these days on "content creation". It's much like slipping in your originals while playing 90 % covers. A couple years go by and you realize you are a cover band playing to drunks. Same lesson here. Doing everything other than music in the hopes to bring light to the music and you will wake up and realize you are a content creator. Everyone may not agree but I see it happen all the time.
