now that I got my second Kastle I stumbled upon your video, very informative! also, so cool to see somebody actuall using the blank patch sheets template I made 5 years ago :D
Thank you sir for this clear, simple, wonderful tutorial!
Where did you get those knobs? 👀
Waiting for my Kastle to come in the post! Your video is easily the best introduction/tutorial out on UA-cam.
thanks, let us know when it arrives and create some video!
Great production values and sounds, thanks! Subscribed 😍
With the I/O ports, I think your explanation left out that both the left and the right channel can be used as input *or* output. So you can have two independent inputs, two outputs, or (as you used it) one input and one output - in addition to the primary output.
For the six synthesis / sound modes, the official Bastl Kastle 1.5 announcement video really explains them well. For each of the mode settings (nothing, minus, plus plugged into "mode"), the primary oscillator outputs one synthesis mode, and the secondary oscillator outputs the other.
So when you've connected the primary and the secondary oscillator, and then listened to the primary output, what we're hearing are both the primary *and* the secondary oscillator, and thus two synthesis modes at once. If you want to hear just the output from the secondary oscillator, you'll need to plug just that into one of the I/O channels, and then listen to just that and not the primary output; that's the only way to "get rid of" the first oscillator.
thanks, your explanation is really helpful!
I deeply appreciate your in-depth dive into this instrument!
Thanks so much, It’s amazing how deep this instrument is given it’s size.
Terrific video. Helped me no end to get to grips with this excellent synth
Glad you liked it!
This was really helpful to be able to see the baseline sounds this thing can make, after all most videos I’ve seen with it are the insane squiggly patches. And the graphics are super nice too! Much more curious about it now
thanks so much!
Nice work! I've been debating this small purchase for over a year now, not sure if it did more than just a few "tricks" and you video is the best by far at showing the range of what you can do with it. Now I'm definitely picking one up!
great to hear; good luck and post some videos if you can when you get it!
Thank you very helpful! Great sounds and top explanations!
thanks very much!
Wonderful video, thank you so much for your time and insight. Sincerely, a new subscriber.
thanks so much!
I love this little beast! There is almost infinite patch potetional.
Hi there nice video and thank you for the great tips , question where did you get those attractive looking knobs they look great!!
Great video! One if my favorite pieces of gear I own. Have you ever heard of the easter egg for the 1.5? I've never been able to figure it out.
no, now I need to go and learn about the Easter egg!
Huge help and very thorough overview. As simple as it is in theory to sync the Kastle to other things and vice versa, that port and manual is soooo confusing. Is L in or is R out or are both in or both out?...makes it all feel like it could easily be patched wrong...even though it seems simple. It should be either labeled more clearly or explained more specifically in their manual. Bastl has the most convoluted manuals out there even though I love their stuff
I can really see your point. It takes some time fiddling to get used to it.
This sounds like an early Throbbing Gristle live performance !!
@@oliverhammond7031 cool to hear!
This is incredible! Any chance to get your cheat sheet?
following for cheat sheet
Hi,
A year later, do you still love this little Kastl Bastle 1.5 so much?
it's great, my favorite is the Kastl Drum.
What is that dupont pin to 3.5mm adapter panel you've got there?
