- Kwetiau Goreng Ateng Medan - Indonesia Street Food
Kwetiau goreng (Indonesian for 'fried flat noodle') is an Indonesian style of stir fried flat rice noodle dish. It is made from noodles, locally known as kwetiau, which are stir fried in cooking oil with garlic, onion or shallots, beef, chicken, fried prawn, crab or sliced bakso (meatballs), chili, Chinese cabbage, cabbages, tomatoes, egg, and other vegetables with an ample amount of kecap manis (sweet soy sauce). In Asia, kwetiau is available in two forms, dried and fresh. Its recipe is quite similar to another Chinese Indonesian favourite, mie goreng, with the exception of replacing yellow wheat noodles for flat rice noodles.

That's some serious cross contamination with a huge risk of food poisoning. Grabbing raw seafood, then putting the same hand into a container of cooked meat.
Food poisoning?
Most medan chinese and bataknese, eat this food since their childhood, and never in my life that i happen to know or heard of, any case of food poisoning or sickness after eating their food.
@@je2p378 I don't mean the dish, I'm talking about touching raw seafood then touching cooked meat with same hand. It's incredibly dangerous.
I'm a chef, practices like that would get a restaurant shut down.
Salmonella, Vibrio, Shigella are very common on shellfish. It's why you never use the same cutting board for raw and cooked food.
@@dionomed9144 Just curious. I don't see the chef touching cooked meat (unless you meant the Chinese sausage - which was stir-fired after).
@@jamestrank5928 After he picked up the seafood, he put his hand into the bowl of meat, so any bacteria in the seafood cross contaminated the meat still in the bowl and can grow very quickly in unrefrigerated conditions..
