    For the CTRL + Asterisk, if your shape is hollowed out, it's normal go to the Modifier Properties menu on the right and check "Self" (always in the Intersect tab)!

    Thanks for the content. If you are having trouble with the Displace modifier acting strange. Apply scale. Crtl + a click scale. This worked for me.

    TERRAIN (beach and water) TIMESTAMPS
    01:00 - add ‘mesh: plane’ and scale it x4, extrude the plane, subdivide the plane two times: 10x and 5x and hide the bottom part of the now extruded plane: inverse selection [ctrl + I] and then [h] in edit mode
    02:01 - modify the terrain using proportional editing
    03:10 - add displace modifier (in object mode), then select all in edit mode and create a new vertex group (name it e.g. ‘sand’) and click ‘assign’. Go back to ‘modifier’ tab/window and add new texture (in object mode), change the ‘type’ of the texture from ‘image or movie’ to ‘wood’. Reduce the ‘strength’ in modifier tab to 0.1. Right click the plane and select ‘shade smooth’.
    04:08 - select the ‘texture’ tab and change the ‘pattern’ from ‘band’ to ‘band noise’ and adjust the ‘size’ and ‘turbulence’
    04:32 - add ‘empty: plain axes’ (in object mode) and move it aside. Select your beach and in ‘modifier’ tab change ‘local’ to ‘object’ in ‘texture coordiantes’. Click the little sample tube symbol and “use” it on the empty you just added. By moving and rotating the empty object (plain axes), you can now modify the sand. You can also adjust other values again.
    05:45 - subdivide one more time. Unhide the bottom part [alt + h], select all [a] and press [s + shift + z] and scale the beach a little bit bigger
    06:15 - add another plane, scale it x4 and extrude it up and drag the bottom part (be selecting faces in edit mode) and drag it down a little (it’s going to look like a sandwich)
    06:40 - select all and duplicate all to a new collection as a back-up (optional)
    07:01 - apply ‘displace’ modifier, delete ‘empty’. Then select “the sandwich” (select the box and then shift select the beach) and press [ctrl + numpad asterisk] (you have to have ‘bool tool’ enabled in edit -> preferences - add-ons)
    08:05 - enable ‘auto smooth’ in ‘object data properties’ tab under ‘normals’. Also, set ‘angle’ to 89 degrees.
    08:35 - add a ‘mesh: plane’ and go to the edit mode, top view and wireframe view. Scale the newly added plane so it’s almost as big as the beach. Move the plane a bit up and extrude it.
    09:42 - in edit mode: select the face of the water (top of the new, extruded plane) and subdivide it 6 times. [ctrl] + [- minus] to decrease selection, create a new vertex group and name it e.g. surface, assign and add ‘displace’ modifier. In the modifier change ‘strength’ to 0.2 and create a new texture. Go to the texture and change its ‘type’ to ‘clouds’. Adjust the values (size, etc) accordingly. Enable ‘shade smooth’. Go to ‘object data properties’ and enable ‘auto-smooth’ again and change the ‘angle’ to 45 degrees.

      ROCKS
      11:58 - add ‘mesh: cube’, move it up and click [ctrl + 1] and apply the modifier. Scale the object down in z axis.
      12:46 - select ‘bisect’ tool (alternative to ‘knife’ tool) and shape the rock as you wish.
      13:50 - add ‘bevel’ modifier. Increase ‘segments’ to 2. Apply ‘shade smooth’ and ‘auto-smooth’ in ‘object data properties’ and also set angle to 180. Go back to ‘modifier’ tab and enable ‘harden normals’ in ‘offset’. Place the rock in the sand and create more rocks by duplicating it and modifying the duplicates (scaling and rotating).

    • @MegaKisiel
      @MegaKisiel 3 роки тому +1

      PALM TREES
      17:17 - add ‘mesh: circle’ and change its ‘vertices’ to 12. Go to Edit Mode and enable x-ray and scale the circle. Press [f] to fill the circle and [e] to extrude. Scale it at the top. Switch to Edge Select and add some loop cuts and bevel them [ctrl + b]. Select only the top loops [shift + alt + left mouse] and change ‘pivot point’ [.] to ‘individual origins’. Scale the loops and move them up.
      Now switch the ‘pivot point’ to ‘3d cursor’ and select the top face. Go to side view and rotate the face (the top of the palm tree) with ‘proportional editing’ enabled.
      19:26 - turn off ‘proportional editing’, press [shift + s] and in ‘snap’ choose ‘cursor to selected’. Go to object mode, enable ‘shade smooth’ and ‘auto smooth’ in ‘object property data’.
      20:03 - go to top view and add ‘mesh: plane’ and scale it to form a leaf. Add 1 horizontal loop cut in the middle and 4 vertical loop cuts. Merge [m] vertices ‘at the center’ at the ends of the leaf. [. Period] and select ‘median point’ and scale the leaf so it looks like a palm tree leaf. Add another horizontal loop cut and create some cut by pressing [v] on vertices. Add ‘solidify’ modifier to the leaf. ‘Shade smooth’ and ‘auto smooth’ again. To duplicate the leaf press [alt + d + r] and add some leaves. Then modify them a little by scaling and moving them a little. Parent [ctrl + p] the leaves to the tree.

    • @MegaKisiel
      @MegaKisiel 3 роки тому +1

      SURF BOARDS
      25:10 - add ‘mesh: plane’ and scale it to form a surf board. Add 4 loop cuts and continue creating the surf board shape. Add ‘solidify’ modifier and increase ‘thickness’ to e.g. 0.07m. Add ‘subdivision surface’ level 2 [ctrl + 2] and apply ‘shade smooth’. Add extra loop cuts at the edges in Edit Mode and curve one of the edges.
      26:45 - add another ‘plane’ at the edge of the surf board (‘cursor to selected’) and rotate it in the x axis 90 degrees and scale it. Place it under the surf board. Shape it, add ‘solidify’ mod and set ‘offset’ to 0 (this moves the origin point to the middle). Add ‘subdivision’ mod [ctrl + 2] and shape the bottom part by adding loop cuts.
      28:21 - reset the cursor to world origin [shift + s] and add ‘mesh: plane’ and scale it to create background.
