Yas... Commentary day .. 🤩
World need more commentary tutorials from you
after 1.5months on Blender, i think i'm confident to recreate this scene without needing to rewatch this tutorial. thanks for all the help!
im about 1 month in and still need to follow the tutorial a lot ha ha. How much time do you spend on blender every day?
@@chrisclay9704 Im also 1 month on blender
For the CTRL + Asterisk, if your shape is hollowed out, it's normal go to the Modifier Properties menu on the right and check "Self" (always in the Intersect tab)!
Thanks bro 👍🏻
Your tutorials are so easy to follow and they work amazing, because at other tutorials I always get stuck at some points or do something wrong. But with this tutorial everything went right from the start, thank you so much! I learned a lot new things
Great to hear!
just wanted to say a massive thankyou for all your videos, you have inspired me so much, and have made me believe in my own abilities, i've started to many projects and loved every single one :D
Wow, mate, you made my day! Thank you! 💙🤘
Thanks for the content. If you are having trouble with the Displace modifier acting strange. Apply scale. Crtl + a click scale. This worked for me.
TERRAIN (beach and water) TIMESTAMPS
01:00 - add ‘mesh: plane’ and scale it x4, extrude the plane, subdivide the plane two times: 10x and 5x and hide the bottom part of the now extruded plane: inverse selection [ctrl + I] and then [h] in edit mode
02:01 - modify the terrain using proportional editing
03:10 - add displace modifier (in object mode), then select all in edit mode and create a new vertex group (name it e.g. ‘sand’) and click ‘assign’. Go back to ‘modifier’ tab/window and add new texture (in object mode), change the ‘type’ of the texture from ‘image or movie’ to ‘wood’. Reduce the ‘strength’ in modifier tab to 0.1. Right click the plane and select ‘shade smooth’.
04:08 - select the ‘texture’ tab and change the ‘pattern’ from ‘band’ to ‘band noise’ and adjust the ‘size’ and ‘turbulence’
04:32 - add ‘empty: plain axes’ (in object mode) and move it aside. Select your beach and in ‘modifier’ tab change ‘local’ to ‘object’ in ‘texture coordiantes’. Click the little sample tube symbol and “use” it on the empty you just added. By moving and rotating the empty object (plain axes), you can now modify the sand. You can also adjust other values again.
05:45 - subdivide one more time. Unhide the bottom part [alt + h], select all [a] and press [s + shift + z] and scale the beach a little bit bigger
06:15 - add another plane, scale it x4 and extrude it up and drag the bottom part (be selecting faces in edit mode) and drag it down a little (it’s going to look like a sandwich)
06:40 - select all and duplicate all to a new collection as a back-up (optional)
07:01 - apply ‘displace’ modifier, delete ‘empty’. Then select “the sandwich” (select the box and then shift select the beach) and press [ctrl + numpad asterisk] (you have to have ‘bool tool’ enabled in edit -> preferences - add-ons)
08:05 - enable ‘auto smooth’ in ‘object data properties’ tab under ‘normals’. Also, set ‘angle’ to 89 degrees.
08:35 - add a ‘mesh: plane’ and go to the edit mode, top view and wireframe view. Scale the newly added plane so it’s almost as big as the beach. Move the plane a bit up and extrude it.
09:42 - in edit mode: select the face of the water (top of the new, extruded plane) and subdivide it 6 times. [ctrl] + [- minus] to decrease selection, create a new vertex group and name it e.g. surface, assign and add ‘displace’ modifier. In the modifier change ‘strength’ to 0.2 and create a new texture. Go to the texture and change its ‘type’ to ‘clouds’. Adjust the values (size, etc) accordingly. Enable ‘shade smooth’. Go to ‘object data properties’ and enable ‘auto-smooth’ again and change the ‘angle’ to 45 degrees.
ROCKS
11:58 - add ‘mesh: cube’, move it up and click [ctrl + 1] and apply the modifier. Scale the object down in z axis.
12:46 - select ‘bisect’ tool (alternative to ‘knife’ tool) and shape the rock as you wish.
13:50 - add ‘bevel’ modifier. Increase ‘segments’ to 2. Apply ‘shade smooth’ and ‘auto-smooth’ in ‘object data properties’ and also set angle to 180. Go back to ‘modifier’ tab and enable ‘harden normals’ in ‘offset’. Place the rock in the sand and create more rocks by duplicating it and modifying the duplicates (scaling and rotating).
PALM TREES
17:17 - add ‘mesh: circle’ and change its ‘vertices’ to 12. Go to Edit Mode and enable x-ray and scale the circle. Press [f] to fill the circle and [e] to extrude. Scale it at the top. Switch to Edge Select and add some loop cuts and bevel them [ctrl + b]. Select only the top loops [shift + alt + left mouse] and change ‘pivot point’ [.] to ‘individual origins’. Scale the loops and move them up.
Now switch the ‘pivot point’ to ‘3d cursor’ and select the top face. Go to side view and rotate the face (the top of the palm tree) with ‘proportional editing’ enabled.
19:26 - turn off ‘proportional editing’, press [shift + s] and in ‘snap’ choose ‘cursor to selected’. Go to object mode, enable ‘shade smooth’ and ‘auto smooth’ in ‘object property data’.
20:03 - go to top view and add ‘mesh: plane’ and scale it to form a leaf. Add 1 horizontal loop cut in the middle and 4 vertical loop cuts. Merge [m] vertices ‘at the center’ at the ends of the leaf. [. Period] and select ‘median point’ and scale the leaf so it looks like a palm tree leaf. Add another horizontal loop cut and create some cut by pressing [v] on vertices. Add ‘solidify’ modifier to the leaf. ‘Shade smooth’ and ‘auto smooth’ again. To duplicate the leaf press [alt + d + r] and add some leaves. Then modify them a little by scaling and moving them a little. Parent [ctrl + p] the leaves to the tree.
SURF BOARDS
25:10 - add ‘mesh: plane’ and scale it to form a surf board. Add 4 loop cuts and continue creating the surf board shape. Add ‘solidify’ modifier and increase ‘thickness’ to e.g. 0.07m. Add ‘subdivision surface’ level 2 [ctrl + 2] and apply ‘shade smooth’. Add extra loop cuts at the edges in Edit Mode and curve one of the edges.
26:45 - add another ‘plane’ at the edge of the surf board (‘cursor to selected’) and rotate it in the x axis 90 degrees and scale it. Place it under the surf board. Shape it, add ‘solidify’ mod and set ‘offset’ to 0 (this moves the origin point to the middle). Add ‘subdivision’ mod [ctrl + 2] and shape the bottom part by adding loop cuts.
28:21 - reset the cursor to world origin [shift + s] and add ‘mesh: plane’ and scale it to create background.
Thank you man, I love following your tutorials.
I wish I wouldn't need to follow step by step but I feel I'm increasing my skills :D
I learned a lot, thank you
Simple and perfect tutorials to train creativity and visualization. Awesome..
Thank you!

dude, you're good!
🙏🤘
You made me to love blender 😍💙❣️
I was waiting it for since a long thanks man! I just love Ur awesome effort
Glad you like it, mate! 😊
thanks you so much! i got the finished one and experience that i made on my own through your video.
Your tutorials are really helpful. I'm learning so many little things where I will usually get stuck. I'm still learning and your tutorials are really helpful specially these commentary ones.😍
Awesome to hear that. Hope to see your work, soon :)
Very nice! also, i have a quick question: What music did you use for this Video?
On subdivision, clicking the arrow/dragging the value up only goes to 10, but you can type in as high a value you want, or as high as the computer can handle at least!
@PIYUSH YADAV what do you mean no lol
@PIYUSH YADAV Why do you say no?
Yes.
I am also studying blender. This video is very straightforward and very cute
Glad you like it ;)
Such a beautiful scene
Thank you :)
Simple but beautiful......🤙🏼
😉
Fallowing at 3:59 i done it a lot of time .but only work at the first time.the sand wave were get bigger than the first time.but i did the same movement each time and had different result.why??
i love your work 😍
Thank you 💙
If you change displacement direction from normal to Z (in combination with auto smooth) you don't have to use a boolean to make the sides properly shaded.
Nice tip, thanks! :)
U just made my day
Nice! 😊
Thank you!
nice, and i complete this, tnx
Great! :)
iam on the Summer house now sir and you uploded that
Why you pressed crtl - when making vertex group for water but didnt do that for sand? Im not sure what is the contradiction useful for
very cool
Thanks ;)
I only got 7 waves at 3:59 , my plane size was the same :(
same
I absolutely love your tutorials, but once again I'm facing problems with the bevel modifier, it doesn't look like what you do even with harden normals and auto smooth (on the rock) and using the shade smooth on the palm tree makes mine look like yours did before auto smooth, but then I use auto smooth (35) and it doesn't change anything :(
Does the cupon code work on the 3 month plan or only on one time payment
The cupon works only on one time payment :)
heyyy how to change it,i want to put house on this beach.pls tell me im really desperate rn
Hey Polygon Runway Please Make a city in blender
Please Polygon Runway make City in Blender
Really awesome tutorial. I was wondering if you going to create a game asset series. Example a low poly human animated with some weapon and an environment background to go with. Thanks for your kind consideration.

Just made this and it's looking great but when rendered, my water is mostly noise. How can I fix this?
Love the tutorials, they've been really helpful for me to learn Blender!
Hey, under the scene tab , at bottom , I found a denoising feature. check it and gg :)
COOL
on the edges of the side of the plane i get these weird streaks when rendering? any idea on what is going on?
i'm stuck in ctrl asterisk shortcuts cant do the option like you
you need to activate the bool tool addon
@@polygonrunway thanks!! I was stuck in the same thing
4:00 Mine only have 7 waves, I don't know what to do.
You probably have smaller terrain? But you can scale it later (it will be in the video) with texture mapping for that diplacement
Ohh thanks
When i click on screen space refraction, nothing happens, can you help me?
Every time I see a beach or an island on this channel I wish it to have cashing waves not just some jello like blue blob. Cuz I want to learn how to make animations in Blender. I want to see if someone can make an ocean look nice without using a paid plugin.
if you're looking for animations you're on the wrong channel. go look up Blender's water physics
Ocean modifier, animate the time value, create particles at the shore to simulate crashing waves, no point getting into flip fluids for something simple
OMG
Hi. I really linke your videos! Unfortunately, I have a problem. I install the zip scene from Gumroad, I installed it, but doesn't appear on the right side. Thankyou!
Bruh nvm
26:45 Why the music is starting out of nowhere for the second time? oO
maybe it's a glitch
Why rigging is not working properly? I just made a character and added human meta rig then parented. And clothes and eyeglasses are in the same place when I'm testing out the rigging? Could you help? Please.
Can you share your blend file
@@satyapa how do you want to receive my file.
@@satyapa yes
So i really liked the tutorial but for some reason when i render it some parts of the water and sand are white and i dont know what to do :/.
having the same problem then I realized you should delete the backup in the scene collection cause it is getting rendered too
@@ericestenofo7502 danm thanks man :D
why don't you make a game out of all your polys? it will look beautiful
Mostly because making a game is not only about assets ;)
whats the name of that effect in the intro so i can search for a tutorial about it
Its a build modifier
nice ;p
OWWW
My 2014 Macbook Pro sucks so much that the final render is too much noisy :(
You should use some denoising in the compositor nodes (look up one of my previous commentary videos where I show how to do that in the end)
@@polygonrunway Thanks! I've found it. I also heard about D-NOISE v1.1 for Blender 2.8x. What do you think about this addon?
As-salāmu‘alaikum,
I thank you for the knowledge.
May I imitate and modify this method for commercial purposes?? without including your name / youtube name??
Please give me this palm tree😭I search everywhere but can't find a good one.
I made one which is similar to video tutorial not like the thumbnail...if you want give me your email I will send my blend file to you.
you can just slow down the video by 50% and follow it step by step
I'm genuinely not trying to sound rude, but I don't understand the purpose of watching Blender tutorials if you have no interest in modelling. Besides, a palm tree is one of the simplest things you could ever model, and the way he did it in the video is so simple.
Nice content! Have a look at our channel and sub if you like our content
