At the point when I was applying a simple deform, my tree became warped all funny even when bent around the correct axis. If this is happening for you, select your object and hit Ctrl+A and apply the scale. This will fix the warping issue. Hope this helps anyone who encounters the same problem :)

I didn't animate this and ran into some lighting issues that I think are from the way I have Blender setup. Overall, still enjoyed this especially for re-enforcing some things I've already learned as well as giving me a few new tips and trips. Keep up the great work! I still need to work on lighting and camera setup/placement and movement but I'm better than I was last week. We all have to remember, "It will take time!"

I wanted to render it with the animation too but it took my laptop 25 minutes to render one single frame, so 120 frames would take around 2 days non-stop to finish lol.

to anyone having troubles getting the water to look good: i had to change the circle base color. at first i made it dark blue and my water was too dark, because its transparent so you can see the the color of the bottom.. after i put some light purple (like in the video) it got clearer
i dont know if thats too obvious and yall had other problems with the water, but thats how i made it work 😅

If you're having trouble with getting the water to look more clear, 1.) make sure your lighting settings under Cycles is defaulted (mine was changed from other starting config setups)
and 2) turn the saturation down on the base color of the water. Having it too high made my water darker and harder to see through.

What would be the optimal settings for rendering this animation and not taking like forever to finish? What I could found said to uncheck the tile option and just put the render samples down to 128 and it still takes a while to finish rendering (I have a very fast PC so my setup is not really adding anything to that problem, it just takes a long time to render). So I was wondering if there was any other particular settings that I'm ignoring to do a smooth render like the one in your vid in maybe, I don't know, 10 minutes or so?
