    We have to see NIN LIVE! After this I think we can officially say NIN is now one of our all time favorite bands to hear and watch perform live. And we haven’t even seen them perform live yet only through this platform but even through this they just F-N fly off the screen in a huge chaotic ball of exploding raw energy like we haven’t seen or heard before. They are just on a whole different level than any other band walking the face of the planet. NIN is another one of those bands that all of a sudden just floors me seemingly out of nowhere after 5 to 10 to 20 years already into their career and I start to get it and completely fall in love with the band. Definitely looking forward to checking out anything from this wild brilliant band.
    Step right up!
    March!
    Push!
    Crawl right up on your knees!
    Please!
    Greed!
    Feed!
    No time to hesitate!
    GAME OVER

      As a Nails fan since I was 6 years old (1991) I can tell you that you have a hell of an amazing, mesmerizing and incredible journey ahead of you.
      PS: And just to clarify before anyone says anything, I was aware of and enjoyed NIN at a basic level, being only 6. But it was from that early exposure that I developed a curiosity to delve deeper and by the time I was 10 I was a die-hard fan of the band as a whole but especially Trent Reznor and the musical genius that he is, has been and will always be.

      Great band live, Trent has mellowed somewhat over the years and by mellowed...saw them live on the Broken tour, Trent was literally kicking, bashing, and knocking the band members over on stage and trashing gear + they had the Ministry chain link fence across the front of the stage, people were climbing and stage-diving off into the crowd, it was glorious mayhem! So much great live material hard to pick one or two; Perfect Drug is great, rarely played live, Burn, also rare live, Wish has been a live staple since the Broken EP and Mr. Self Destruct, usually played as a first track opener.

    Ilan Rubin is the REAL DEAL! I saw them before the pandemic in Brooklyn. It was the first tour that The Perfect Drug was performed live. For over 20 years, Trent said the drum solo was too complicated to play live. Ilan shows up and says, 'hold my beer'. And owns the drum solo.

    NIN is SOOOO AWESOME LIVE! Their stage set ups are always awesome. I've been a huge fan since Middle School. It was during "the Downward Spiral" which "March of the Pigs" is on. They have so many good songs, it's tough to have a favorite lol.

    Great reaction. I really recommend you the song "the great below" from and "all that could have been" live. Very different, but the song and the visual effects are amazing. One of the most cinematographic nin songs

    You guys were talking about how Nine Inch Nails would play with the same intensity in a room by themselves and you are completely correct. You should react to one of their rehearsal videos (of which there are many). They released a really good 4 song video from their rehearsals for The Slip tour in 2008/2009. All 4 tracks a great but my favorite is the song 1,000,000. They had a little different lineup back then with John Freese on drums and Justin Meldal-Johnsen on bass who are both accomplished session musicians. Robin and Alessandro are still there though. Been watching your NIN reactions almost daily in preparation for the Cleveland homecoming show next week...

    I'll be seeing them for the 16th time at their homecoming show outside of Cleveland next month. My first show was in 1990 when I was 14. Their show is incredibly intimate and the fan community is outstanding. I have friends around the world that I met at NIN shows.

    Ahhh the good ole days of NiN. You really should check out the early live performances. He would injure himself...The band...the security. It didn't matter. Some one was going to catch a mic stand. One instance a guitar tech had to step in for Trent due to an injury sustained during that event. Another show a security guard got hit by a flying mic stand. The stage was always trashed. God I miss those days.

    This has always been my favorite live song, and now you know why. 🖤 Also, when you weren't sure if they were done - on the album, that's the end of the song. But live, they extend it. 😊 But yeah, Trent is a perfectionist and considers everything - sound, lighting, stage setup. All of it. Also, he has won Grammys, Emmys, and Oscars. I could go on and on. Haha. Please try and see them live! But first, give the albums a listen in full - start to finish.

    Nails is my all time favorite band. I've been lucky to see them live 4 times and I AM NEVER DISAPPOINTED. I LOVE TRENT REZNOR!! For me watching them live is damn near a religious experience. Came across them first in high school when their second album Broken came out and first got to see them live in 95 on the Self Destruct Tour for their album The Downward Spiral. Always happy to see someone discovering their music and performances.
    Also, I love your Deftones shirt and their guitar riff in your opening. Love them as well. I'm from Sacramento like them and I was lucky enough to see a lot of their early shows in larger clubs and music halls when they came out. I was lucky to meet Chino once very quickly and was almost a background extra in one of their early music videos for their first album (had I not been just stupidly hungover).

    And for my third comment on this video, Trent has 4 Grammys (Best Metal Performance in 1993 for "Wish", in 1995 for "Happiness in Slavery" and the soundtracks for "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" and "Soul"), 2 Oscars (Best Original Score in 2011 for "The Social Network" and in 2021 for "Soul"), and an Emmy (Outstanding Music Composition for Watchmen 2020). Atticus Ross has been with him through everything but Trent's earliest work (first 2 Grammys). I have heard that there have at least been talks of making "Soul" into a musical which would put Trent and Atticus in line to potentially win a Tony award and become the 18th and 19th members of the EGOT club (people who have won all 4 awards; Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony).

    I saw NIN in 1994 for the Downward Spiral tour, I was 14..first real concert! Blew me away! They were so dirty, and angry and chaotic. Trent tore a part a grand piano and cried. The show stopped for 20 minutes until they cleaned up and replaced the piano. My mom had no clue what she was letting me watch, since I was raised a Jehovahs Winess! Funny as hell!

    I’ve seen NIN twice - once with my favorite lineup via Josh Freese (drummer from The Vandals and A Perfect Circle), Twiggy Ramirez (bass player from Marilyn Manson), and Aaron North (a live explosion on guitar). This song is worth watching live again from the With Teeth tour, which is the same tour I saw them on, thankfully. Without question, NIN is in my Top 3 favorite bands - maybe Top 2. PANTERA will always be my favorite. 🤘

The Year was 2000 and the same lineup from woodstock 94 except the drummer. Note their keyboardist went on to do every score to the Saw movies after his career with Nails.

    NIN live shows were waaaaay better back in the 90’s. Trent sounded his best back in 1994, 1995 during The Downward Spiral era, and in 1999/2000 during The Fragile era. I was fortunate to see them during those times. Trent was so full of rage and his voice/screams were unmatched. He still sounded alright during the With Teeth era of the band, but in the later 2000’s up to now, his voice and angst is pretty gone. His epic screaming is almost non existent now. It’s not his fault though. He’s sober and alot older. But back in the 90’s…. The NIN shows were insane. Absolutely fierce and crazy. Like nothing you could possibly imagine unless you were there. Check out the earlier shows from these eras.

    • @brokenfragility
      @brokenfragility 2 роки тому

      I think the band and music sounds a lot better With Teeth and beyond, its definitely not as aggressive with the screaming and flailing on stage and throwing shit around but just as far as how the music is and sounds theyre heavier now than theyve ever been. If all you care about is aggressive vocals then sure, but I think even Trent himself would say the band is much more tight now. To each their own tho.

    • @stevekrasz1
      @stevekrasz1 2 роки тому

      Yes, to each their own for sure. But I completely disagree with you as someone who saw them back in the day from 94-2000 and from 2005-now. He/they were sooo much better back in the early to late 90’s. But like you said, to each their own.
