After watching several videos dealing with the topic yours is the first which is really helpful on how to get started with semi-professional dsrl video gear. Especially I liked that you not only said what the equipment can be used for but also showed some great examples! Thanks a lot for this video!

I bet you are the only youtuber who can make us wonder in awe of a lady painting a table because of your video skills! I was gonna go out and pour all my savings into a Z6 which potentially can solve a certain issue I have in a shoot. I will now try to figure out a way to do it with my current setup! Thanks a lot for inspiring

Hi Andyax! I love this video! The side-to-side camera movement with the focus rack at 3:31 was beautifully done. It amazes me what a difference subtle camera movement can make to the dramatic effect of film. Thank you!

I have literally watched like all your videos, you are very talented! I've been into filming for a while but stopped over the years due to school and other hobbies, BUT you inspired me to get a DSLR a few months ago and pick it up again. Thanks for all these useful tips, you have really helped me figure out everything and I learned a lot from your posts! I'm actually entering my first film festival this year, so keep up the videos I love them!

I slowly build up my rig around my Lumix GH2 with stuff I bought from ebay in China. The quality is good and it is very cheap. I build my own dolly with dolly track (8 meters long) but a slider would be handy.

I have the exact same slider, been using it since 2014. It's super versatile. The only thing you need to do once in a while is lube the tracks after so much usage.

Wow... What difference the slider makes! I make DSLR & GoPro video logs at all my DJ events for our UA-cam channel, but everything is handheld. I wasn't sure if the added expense of shoulder rig or slider made a difference. Now, I see it does.

I have the same slider with the red platform but I found that over time it gathers a lot of dust and dirt under the platform in the plastic pieces which hold it on the rails which can make smooth sliding difficult as it either sticks to the rails or becomes quite jumpy. It's necessary to clean it often, sometimes even after an hour of using, or less. I mostly use it outdoors, though, so it's hard to tell if it gathers dirt so easily indoors as well. That's my experience with it, anyways.

    Thanks for the video.
Actually i am a university professor (and a total vlogging newbie) i am thinking about starting lecture-channel.
i am talking about classic whiteboard-style lectures where i would be standing in front of the whiteboard writing and explaining stuff.i intend to shoot these videos at home.
i am not looking for very fancy stuff but the footage should be of a decent quality, but mind you i don't need features like anti-shaking, portability, battery life ,,, since the camera would be stationary
    - what camera do you recommend ?
    - do i need a separate audio equipment for better audio quality ? what mic do you recommend ?
    - and how about lighting ? do i need some sort of light source (as i said i am absolutely new to making UA-cam videos)
as i said, the content must be of decent quality but i don't want to pay a fortune
could you recommend some brands and models , just don't make it expensive please
thank you so much for the information
