I'm here two years later to thank you for this video. I've made way over 20K since i've started on Fiverr, and that might not sound like much for many people, but i live in Brazil, and that is way over the average income of Brazilian people. I was able to buy my car, rent a very big apartment, and at this point, i'm even hiring more people to expand my business! Thank you so much for this video!!!
    With love from Brazil!

You are the living proof of what i said in another comment, it's great for people in countries like yours, where 5$ USD goes a long way ( very happy for you BTW 🤗) but in Canada, 5$ is pocket change. Canadians or Americans can't compete with gigs from people in Brazil, Colombia, India...

    • @LucasWilluweit
      @LucasWilluweit Рік тому +9

@@Cl-ue7wn I understand your point, but i don't think you're right. I've started charging $5 USD on my gigs, today i earn 1-2 average monthly salaries of an regular American citizen. The thing you learn by beign a freelancer on Fiverr is that if you're getting in to do what everyone else is doing, that isn't going to work at all. You've to start small, but get as good as you can, always learning, improving and trying to be the best on your nieche

Yes, 20% is painfully huge. The site runners are raking in huge money while sellers suffer. 5% would have been more than enough to be fair and true to the Fiverr name.

    Hi Daniel,
I watch a lot of how to make money online channels but most don't provide this kind of authenticity and value.
So I also wanted to start one pretty much like what you are doing that can give people actionable advise not just to clickbait people and earn ad revenue without helping the viewer.
You are great at what you do and this channel will blow up.
Keep at it and God bless.

The other fact is that Fiverr takes a huge fee from both buyers and sellers. Living with it, adding all tax you have to pay as well becomes tough in respect to UA-cam or Amazon programs.. between these Fiverr has the highest work time over revenue ratio.

Fivver is a race to the bottom just like crowdsourcing sites majority of the creators are from third world countries just trying to make a buck.
While the target market audience for these sites are for people who don't want to pay at least minimum wage and don't know true value or real quality work and suffer with damages from making that poor decision of not working with real professionals.

I will go weeks without any orders, then suddenly I'll get 2 or 3 in the same day or two. I am still not getting a ton of orders, but I've made about 330$ from maybe 9 orders.

I do game montage video editing and my prices range from 5-20 dollars, and he maxxed out the order to do the 20 dollar one plus 10 dollars which was two day shipping. at the end I worked about 5 hours in total for him, and luckily he tipped me 30 dollars so I made 48 net after fiverr took the it's cut. Love your channel. Love Mango Street. I'm a photographer and videographer and I do want to point out that the profit you make (also you said 'profit' instead of 'revenue' which is what it would be if your costs aren't $0 - and I'm assuming they are not) is so marginal compared to the time you spend on your profile, vetting clients, communicating with clients, equipment, keeping your software/computer clean and up to date, subscriptions to Adobe and music licensing sites and stock footage sites. Sorry for the long sentence. If your price tag grows, yes this could be an option. It would be an option for someone in school trying to add to their portfolio. Part of me just doesn't like that it seems to draw customers that already have a low value for the services. Also, I know that smooth client systems are priceless and this just feels like it's setting newer creators up to fail. I'd love a version of Fiverr that vets it freelancers and sets them up with some systems and a minimum price tag to increase positive experiences. Keep making content like this! I'm fascinated.

yeah, i'm kind of going off the assumption that:
      a. already paying for adobe cloud and licensing sites
      b. not spending any extra money running a fiverr business
but yeah, good point - i didn't really account for messaging w/ potential clients or even the hassle of dropping what you're doing to respond quickly to inquiries.
i think fiverr pro may be kind of what you're describing too - it just seems like a lot of work to get there!

@@chetanbhabad1257 I've had a few orders, but nothing really significant yet. It's hard to get orders without a lot of customer reviews, but you can't get a lot of reviews without orders. Maybe I need to get some friends to fake some. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Daniel, this video is terrific! I'm watching because I am putting up a voice over actor gig. It's something you might think about doing; you have charisma and a nice voice.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Fiverr is great for buyers looking for the best deal. I felt like I was competing against people who charge close to nothing for their gigs. I think it might be a great option if you live in countries where 5$ USD goes a long way, but I'm in Canada, 5$ is pocket change. I would need to complete at least 8 gigs per hour to make a basic living. Which is close to impossible... If you try charging more for your gig, you just become invisible to buyers.

I am slow at editing, but it’d be cool to learn how to do that a bit more as a side gig and to help me with my own videos.
Nice little side hustle to start. Over time it could snowball to recurring business and increased prices being capable after lots of pleased customers leaving reviews.
    Great video!
