I'm already waiting for your reaction for SKZ, it's been a while. About recording for 5 star. There are two videos, one is a part of album intro, one is a present for Stays on Stayweek
Idk if you've already seen it but Bang Chan and Changbin sang Eyes, Nose, Lips on karaoke and it was absolutely beautiful they killed it, especially Chan's harmonies and runs added so much to it

14:17 I agree 100%. People like to pigeonhole them into a certain genre without truly delving into their versatility. You can't just listen to 1, 2 or 3 popular StrayKids songs and make a full on decision about them. They are so incredibly diverse in their music, so unless you've literally listened to everything they've put out, your opinion and claims about their music are unfounded and ludicrous. Once someone has listened to their entire discography and still puts out a negative opinion of them, I'll respect their opinion, but unless you've put in the work to check them out fully, you're opinion is invalid. Come at me bcuz I'll just say CHEESE 😁.

@@Leidyybug Baekhyun is one of the best singers in the whole of kpop and he is still taking vocal lessons.
several SKZ members are known to take vocal lessons too (and it is known that Seungmin has the same vocal teacher as Baekhyun) and their progress is seen very well over time.

15:37 yes!!!!! so many people discredit them and say they have no vocals/can't sing bc their title tracks tend to be more hard hitting and rap focused instead of crazy vocals but if you listen to their albums/songs that aren't the title tracks you'll quickly realize that isn't true and they do so much more than their signature 'noise music' they're crazy versatile.
Hans I'll be your man amazing performance on Kingdom showed his great talent for everything and wow Lee Know sounds fantastic!! They all do.

seungmin i.n and lee know are all know working with baekhyun's vocal coach so maybe they all started working with sm coaches

Thank you once again for giving an objective reasons...the good and bad and what can be worked on to improve and the underrated...I love how you notice each member when they shine or where they can improve...and talking about rnb...I NEEEED all of stray kids to do an rnb album...Han just released a song called Miserable(you and I) that reminds me so much of early 2000s rnb, more in particular it reminds me of Craig David's song fill me in.....I believe SKZ has that variety where they can do any genre and I hope they can tap into even more sounds in the future
Thank you. Stray Kids does have a bunch of unit songs. Most people just react to all their title tracks and b-sides but Stray Kids has a bunch of unit songs. You have Bang Chan and Lee Know in Drive m/v, Bang Chan and Hyunjin in Red Lights, Felix Changbin & Seungmin in SNAIN, Han in his latest solo Miserable is amazing. Hyunjin with his latest solo Contradicting and Seungmin with Hold On solo all in the last 2 weeks. and the recent 5 stay birthday song they released Party's Not Over is a great vocal song. I think you are correct in the past stray kids weren't getting recognized for their vocal talents as much but as they grow in confidence and mostly in experience they are showing more of their vocal side. It is evident in the latest album 5 star we have a great mix of hip hop and vocals. A very well balanced album that teases all your 5 senses. But for the stay fans that have been following a while like me, already knew their vocal talents and very excited they are showing it more and more.

They do have sub unit songs and they do mix and match a lot! I think a lot of people mistake who's doing parts sometimes when it's not the 'expected'. Their skz replay, record and player do a fair bit of this. Their range is why Stays always say they have something for everyone! Glad you're seeing and appreciating how much range each of these guys really do have...hence the no set roles too!
Always nice to see someone that notices Changbin. Sometimes I feel he doesn’t get enough credit as a rapper, singer, dancer or songwriter. As people have already commented, Stray Kids have a lot of sub unit songs. Drive, Red lights, Surfin’, Gone away, Snain, Because, My Universe, Maknae on top, and probably others I have missed. My favourite right now is the karaoke duet of Chan and Changbin. I have listened to it many times.

True, but not in this. He mostly forget. You can see I.N and others face confused as well and this is first take too obviously he would take this seriously. Bang chan is known for being a perfectionist.
You are so right with their versatility. I wish to hear them more in with interchanging roles. Vocal would rap more and rappers would sing more. They are so capable of it. They did it on one of thier concerts and it was amazing Seungmin did a great job rapping Han's part same with I.N with Changbin's part while Lee Know and Chan are a natural rappers already. On the other hand Hyunjin, Changbin and Felix showcased their vocals and Han being Han was not a suprise. They all nailed their parts despite them not so use in each others roles and it shows their versatility. I'm glad SKZ made you happy today. 😁

I've been following your reactions to different artists (even ones I haven't listened to before) for quite a while now, and I'm so so glad that you've been going down this Stray Kids journey / rabbit hole over the last few comebacks!!
Definitely agree with your comments about their untapped vocal potential, because while they decide their own musical direction it does restrict their freedom to explore certain showcases of vocal tone and skill as well (and they truly have such a range of unique and wonderful textures)
Also love your comment about how choreo can be creative and engaging without being difficult for difficulty's sake because in a generation saturated with hard hitting and compact choreo it's really the consistent artistry that makes a brand stand out
Lastly, I'm sooo excited for you to check out their recording behind scenes, the directing from 3RACHA in the studio is so interesting to witness and really gives you a greater appreciation for all the details in their vocals and raps

They actually already have a lot of subunits, some official, some unofficially, they just don’t get promoted as much sometimes. But you should totally check them out! I’ll list all the songs from subunits I can think of down here:
Zone, taste, wow, gone away, because, up all night, drive, maknae on top, 3racha, can’t stop, heyday, muddy water, waiting for us, surfin, red lights, my universe, we go.
They also have a lot of solos, so if you wanna hear more from the members individually, there’s so much to check out.
since you seem to like their live performances, you should check out Winter Falls and TA / Backdoor live (special performances).

SKZ still have a room for improvement in vocals, but I am so proud how much progress we see and how well they perform live. another indication of how passionate they are at their job.
since 2020 almost every album has unit songs, and SKZ-replay completely consists of unit and solo songs except the title track.
none of the units is official though, except 3racha. for each song and album they do different combinations of members in the units.
I think a lot of people just hear a common narrative and follow it without trying to make their own opinion on the subject, because it is much easier. SKZ has never been terrible singers, they have always made beautiful vocal heavy songs in addition to hard hitting bops, but people just see what they want to see after checking their 5 songs with highest views. it is natural, I guess.
There are people who prefer their noisy songs, there are people who prefer their vocal-heavy songs, there are people who love both and this is the beauty of SKZ discography.

If you haven’t yet I would suggest checking out their ‘Re-Play’ album for solo and unit songs. A few have mv’s but most are lyrics only.
Side A of the album has two group songs, the first being ‘Fam’ Korean version, which has an mv (I highly recommend it) and ‘#lovestay’ which also has an mv. The rest of the A side is made up of new solo tracks from each member and each member had a huge part in creating their own solo tracks. None of the solo tracks have MVs.
The B Side is made up of previously released solo, duo and unit songs that were only available on UA-cam before the album, some of them have MVs but as I mentioned before most don’t. It’s a really good insight into each members style how far they’ve grown both vocally and as song writers.

OMG omo omo a SKZ Killing Voice would be INCREDIBLE! I know I fell down the rabbit hole with Seventeen when I heard their session. SKZ have so many fire b-sides and stunning background vocalizations that would be greatly showcased in a Killing Voice format.

Wohoooo finally some skzzz
unfortunately 5-star promotions were cut short after a week and a half , we thought it was cause of the members health but they were getting ready to their lolla performance and their japanese comeback and their dome tour so even tho 5-star was a big comeback we didn't get them anywhere besides a few music shows with s-class :( their single for the japanese comeback is about to be out tomorrow and it's a feat with the japanese singer liSA its call social path , we hoping to get a first take of it this time too 🤞🏾
also i think I'd like seungmin and han's new skz- record songs , seungmin's song it's called "hold on" (it was written by han) and han's song it's called "miserable" and it has a bit of r&b feel to it (lyrics also by han) they both such good songs

imo it feels like he's experimenting with his vocal style and i think it sounds awesome! I was so pleasantly surprised when i heard him.
Idk if anyone told you but I found out something recently. The vocal line has been getting vocal lesson’s from Baekhyun’s vocal teacher. I believe they are even paying for this themselves. I feel like JYP does not know how to help their singers grow. So watching them improve their singing quality, it is themselves putting in the effort and going on the side to make it happen.

I agree...I didnt care for the instrumental and arrangement change either...I think they should have kept it in the original format because Lost Me is my fav Japanese song from them and it wasnt done justice with all the changes
I so wish they’d stop doing their dance practices in that warehouse, the sound is just awful, like they’re playing the track on some cheap 1980’s ghetto blaster 😂
