My buddy and I love to camp, fish, and shoot. When he moved back home to Michigan, he bought a fix-er-upper and invited me up to to help him fix it and fish. Because of this movie I immediately asked, "How far away is the nearest college? I don't want ANY of that shit!"
I adore this movie. It just takes every horror movie trope I've loved all my life and turns them on their head in the most hilarious and adorable of ways.
My favourite thing about this movie is more of a personal reason. My dad hated horror movies/splatter movies and at one point even questioned my sanity for watching them. I managed to convince him to watch this movie through the comedy aspect of it and he ended up loving it so much and laughing out loud several times that he even re-watched it more than once with a beer at hand.
Such a great review, thank you for your take on this film!!! Alan Tudyk is such an eclectic actor - from Firefly and A Knight's Tale to Doom Patrol and Resident Alien.
@@NoxSoSubtle A Knight's Tale is a solid option if you're looking for more of his work. It stars Heath Ledger, Alan Tudyk, and Paul Bettany. It's an action comedy set in the middle ages, and very funny.
Poor Dale throughout this movie. He's just a big ol' sensitive teddy bear with bad people skills. It's hard not to feel for him every time something happens.
The funniest part of the whole movie is when the kid goes in the woodchopper and blood goes everywhere and Tucker says "are you ok?" in that nervous voice. 😂😂
The poison sac is still attached to the stinger and continues to pump venom into the wound, so you should remove the stingers. The problem is that when people try to grasp the stinger to pull it out, they usually pinch the poison sac and squeeze out more venom, so the standard advice is to remove the stinger with a quick scratching motion. A pair of needle forceps with a magnifying glass so you can avoid the poison sac works very well, but people don't usually have that handy, and the longer you leave the stinger in, the more venom you're getting.
I learned this life lesson around the age of 4. I rode my tricycle over a ground hornets nest. Luckily my Mom was a med tech and my Dad was a P.A. so forceps were all over the house, car, boat etc.
If I recall, more recent research indicates that just grabbing and pulling out with anything works best. It introduces negligible additional venom and typically searching around for suitable tools or clumsily scraping them out results in the sac injecting more venom due solely to the extra time.
I understand there are different species in the US, but in Europe, neither European bees nor wasps (typically called "yellow jackets" in the US, I believe) are actually dangerous; unless you're allergic to their poision, but then it's the allergic reaction that's dangerous, rather than the poision itself. We try to remove the stinger if possible. But I've had a case where one of my children was stung by a bee. I didn't know whether she was allergic, so I took her to the hospital (I had not been able to remove the sting). They said she wasn't allergic and that the sting was so deep in, it would be very uncomfortable for the child to have the sting removed. They told me the sting would probably just be ejected by the body itself in a couple of days. And indeed, the next morning, my child woke up without the sting. TLDR: European stings hurt like hell, but for most people, they're not dangerous at all. If you can remove the sting, great; if not, it will be outta there soon enough anyway.
Great reaction to a very fun film! :-) Alan Tudyk is always a treasure to watch. But what always gets me in this film is Dale's pure innocence! :-) Also, things to learn from this movie when approaching a girl you like: 1) if you've eaten pickled eggs, clean and wash your mouth beforehand! Very important! Under no circumstance should there be egg in your mouth! 2) Never, and I mean never, carry a scythe when approaching the girl in question! 3) Smile, and laugh, to show confidence. Though, you should not smile and laugh like a maniac, preferably! 4) do not show fear; most likely she'll smell it! Hence, the smiling and laughing part! Again, thank you for this reaction; I feel like this film did not get the succes at the time that it arguably deserved. So nice to see more people reacting to it, and appreciating it :-)
This is one of my favorite movies. I was shocked at how good this movie was. I laughed so hard my face hurt as the plot twist worked itself out. Plus, some of the "hillbilly" antics and jokes are pretty spot on with the backwoods lifestyle. Like pouring beer on everything, the "the rental company better not charge me for this" and so on. Plus, I have 100% sawed through a tree with bees in it! Spoiler alert: That is the EXACT reaction you have!🤣 Too good!
I’m not a Hillbilly, cos I’m not from Appalachia, but my family is all from rural Northern Mass, Southern New Hampshire and East Bumfuck Maine. I come from a big hiking, fishing, hunting, sledding (riding snowmobiles through the forests of Sebago is pristine) family, so I definitely appreciated “outdoorsy people” being portrayed as being affable, kind and funny, as opposed to how we’re usually shown, as, ya know, “not taking no kindly to outsiders” Haha I couldn’t help but wonder what Tucker was dipping throughout the film. I miss Kodiak Ice
The Killer Hill Billy trope comes from the movie deliverance. The interesting thing is that the writer got the idea after getting lost and in trouble in Hill Billy Country, and the locals found them, helped them and gave them food, clothes and money to get home. He thought 'those guys were the nicest folk you could hope to meet. We were so lucky... what if they had been psychos?' And thus the trope was born. And from then on... Hill Billies have had a bad rep.
I love this movie so much! I think this movie has a lot more to say than Cabin In The Woods (2012) does. I love both movies equally, but this movie also teaches us not to judge a book by the cover and communication is key to clear up any misunderstanding. Fun Fact: Towards the end of the movie, when Tucker & Dale are reminiscing about catching frogs at the creek, Dale mentions that he used to lick them. Tyler Labine actually did lick a Toad in a small role he had on Quagmire (1996) 14 years prior.
Love your reaction. This is one of the key movies I look for reactions to, it's such a favorite of mine. It's hilarious, tightly written, and Tyler Labine, Alan Tudyk, and Katrina Bowden do such a great job in their roles. Dale is one of my all-time favorite characters. I love the pancakes line; he never even considers he might be scary to someone, so she must hate pancakes. Another favorite thing is he doesn't presume to call her Allie until he burst into the cabin when Chad has the ax at her throat; it's not polite to assume you're friends, right? Their moments together always warm my heart.

I saw it as soon as it was available to rent. I don't remember it ever being in theaters, which is a shame.

My favorite lines from this movie are they are trying to kill themselves. Hide all of the sharp objects then now he's crackling like a log. My favorite death has to be when the 2nd kid impaled himself with his own spear. Granted it's the 2nd impalement in the movie but the fact he. Sharpened both ends of the stick into a spear points. Just adds a little something extra to his stupidity wich makes his death being funnier. Because common sense says you only make one point on the stick. Not the one facing you so his death was truly fueled by stupidity.

“I didn’t know what was gonna happen in this movie but I didn’t think it was that,” should be the official tagline on the “Tucker & Dale…” movie poster
What makes this movie as funny as it is was everything that happened was all based on misunderstandings, lol. Laughed so hard the first time I seen it, and still makes me laugh. It's a brilliant movie. Way underrated.
This movie flips all those horror/slasher movies around and is fantastic. I watched this movie out of desperation/boredom and was I surprised. I constantly recommend it now to everyone.

The best three love notes to Horror. Tucker and Dale vs Evil. Scream. And Behind the mask: Rise of Leslie Vernon. All have very specific tropes that are specifically designed in the story to parody a great evil. While showing its respects to the genre.
You're honest reaction was terrific. Made me want to subscribe. This is an underrated movie in my opinion. Tucker, Alan Tudyk, has done a lot in films and TV. For my favorite, I'm split between Tucker and Dale dragging unconscious Alyson into their boat yelling "We got your friend" and the wood chipper scene. I'd like to recommend another underappreciated comedy; "Super" starring Rainn Wilson, Liv Tyler, Kevin Bacon, and (at that time) Ellen Page. It's about an awkward, uptight guy with a good heart who tries to be a real life super hero which does not go well. It has a lot of dark comedy, a bit of tragedy and some really heartwarming moments too.
!! Awesome to see this in my feed😁😎You were up to speed immediately & I'm glad you enjoyed it.👍 Edit: As previously mentioned: The perils of miscommunication can have consequences ...& sometimes a body count. Madness ensues.😋 (⬇️ All comedies, None Halloween specific) My first suggestion is 'Heathers'. Imo the best High School movie ever🖤 If you enjoy humor with a dark side😏 Have you seen any of these? 'Airplane!'(Absurdity reigns Supreme) 'Top Secret!'- Imagine the level of absurdity in a WWII espionage film mashed with an Elvis beach movie starring Val Kilmer in his first film. 'Super Troopers'? A well done cop caper with shenanigans.😋 All IMO excellent comedic films,
For bees btw, you should try and take the stingers out. Sometimes the venom gland remains and continues pumping venom into the sking where it is untill you pull it out
Love this movie, this is the new Halloween instant classic! Two other amazing must see horror parodies, Mel Brooks all time spoof masterpiece, Young Frankenstein and Taika Waititi's hilarious, What We Do In The Shadows! A few others you might really enjoy that are horror comedies, Hot Fuzz, Zombieland 1&2, Tremors 1&2 and the third movie in the original Evil Dead trilogy, Army of Darkness. Recommend watching Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2 first. The first film is more straight horror, with more comedy added in the second and the third is straight comedy gold, filled with delicious cheesy goodness. There is also a brilliant netflix series titled Ash vs Evil Dead that your sure to love. And if your looking for some who done it comedies, try Clue, Murder by Death, The Private Eyes and the genius, Knives Out!
Murder by Death 👍Yes please! Young Frankenstein Absolutely!❤ Can't really go wrong with Mel Brooks.👍 Blazing Saddles, Space Balls (Have you seen the original Star Wars trilogy?), History of the World Part 1, Dracula, Dead & loving it, High Anxiety, The Producers.. Mel is Legend👍 Consider 'Kung Pao - Enter the Fist' also, Glorious Kung Fu at its silliest 🤣 Have you seen 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail' or 'Life of Brian'? Both legendary.😎
@@1ListerofSmeg some excellent additions though surprised you mentioned Dracula Dead and Loving It but not Robin Hood Men In Tights. lol Well, since you've already opened pandora's box, I'd add in a few other must watches, like, Hot Shot 1&2, Airplane 1&2 and Weird Al's often overlooked and forgotten single movie, UHF! Seriously WTF!!! lol How can you mention Kung Pow-Enter The Fist and not also recommend Steven Chow's comedic masterpieces Kung Fu Hustle and Shaolin Soccer, NOT COOL BRO! lmao Or Jackie Chan's, Drunken Master and Legend of the Drunken Master! Just giving you a hard time, though I was honestly surprised, since both Kung Pow and Mel's, Dracula are less well known than Kung Fu Hustle and Men in Tights, so extra props for going with great, but more obscure titles!
@@po5283 Nice additions👍 ..🤔 I used to be in a band with a 6'3" ginger viking bass player named Po. Coincidence? ... Yeah Probably 😋 Either way I am well and truly chastised in exactly the spirit intended.😋 ( I do lean towards suggesting the less obvious if possible [but sometimes not lol] as someone is def going to be suggesting naked gun etc...) I can only use accidental oversight as an excuse with a touch of: 'OMFG look at the size of this novel I have written so far with 7 edits & nobody will read this far anyway and btw...what was I talking about ..' And... I already had another novella in the comments here somewhere lol. Sheer oversight-> ❤UHF & RHMiT❤ MUCH unawareness of UHF & this needs to change. I have seen Airplane2 but I never hesitate to point out that ZAZ had nothing to do with it (They haven't even seen it). I am not anti.. I Just def rec quite a few others first & Top Secret! Is my fave by them. Again, Someone always suggests the Chow films & Hot Shots & all the latter day spoofing stuff. (I have a fun story about walk this way when she hits Young Frankenstein 😏.) If NSS sees this do consider 'Amazon Women on the Moon' and also 'City Slickers' (not wacky or absurd it's Billy Crystals cowboy movie) If you have read this far, have ice cream. You deserve it. I would say sometimes I leave out the more commercial/popular choices because I don't want to distract NSS from my 'off in the corner' suggestions with a shiny popular movie she's heard of that others are suggesting also. In a way.. It potentially dilutes the impact of the suggested lesser known film. Or maybe I just want ice cream. 🙂 Edit: OF COURSE there is an edit..🤗 Love Jackie Chan - I prefer First Strike, & both Shanghai the RH series is fun.👍
Yes, pull the stingers out, but if you use tweezers, they’ll squeeze more venom into the skin, making it hurt more. If you use the edge of a credit card, it pulls it out without squeezing the venom out. A cold compress helps after removing the stingers. 😁

Ever since I randomly found this movie on Netflix a few years ago, it is my go to comedy horror film in October. And whenever I feel like horror comedy. Or comedy.
I bought this on DVD years ago and tried to get my mother to watch it and she refused. This year she called me telling me she found a movie that was hilarious... Guess what?
this movie is fantastic, it is super silly but you cant not love it! Alan and Tyler are just the perfect cast for this story, nothing but a good watch. Really had fun with your reaction🤣
So on pulling out stingers. Certain insects including many bees have a barbed stinger designed to tear off with the venom gland. So it will keep injecting venom. Wasps and hornets, typically to my knowlege, keep their stinger which is probably why they seem more agressive, they are designed to sting over and over. Where as bees lose the stinger and then it doesn't regrow.
This is pretty funny! They have a follow-on movie (by the same team, but not connected) "Little Evil" that's good also. I also watched a movie recently that was a bit of a hidden gem, "Mindhorn". Quite funny!
I'm sure others have mentioned this, but since you liked this movie, you should really check out Cabin in the Woods. It's another one that takes the usual tropes of horror movies and has a field day turning them in weird directions.
Thank you for introducing me to this movie. I had never heard about it until now, but will check out the full version so I can thoroughly experience it. Since you liked this one, you may enjoy watching "April Fool's Day" as well.
If you look carefully at the last scene, you see that BJ, the friend that was getting advice from Dale, doesn't turn to look at the girl until after she starts falling back. It's another accident.

Omg I laughed so much when the girl said your half hillbilly I lost it I'm from eastern ky I know people think we're all like chainsaw massacre funny stuff anyway I love your reactions keep it up
i love it. there are not enough reaction videos to this movie on YT !! thank U
I'm so glad someone finally did this.
Such an underrated movie.
!! Awesome to see this in my feed😁😎You were up to speed immediately & I'm glad you enjoyed it.👍
Edit: As previously mentioned: The perils of miscommunication can have consequences ...& sometimes a body count. Madness ensues.😋
(⬇️ All comedies, None Halloween specific)
My first suggestion is 'Heathers'. Imo the best High School movie ever🖤
If you enjoy humor with a dark side😏
Have you seen any of these?
'Airplane!'(Absurdity reigns Supreme)
'Top Secret!'- Imagine the level of absurdity in a WWII espionage film mashed with an Elvis beach movie starring Val Kilmer in his first film.
'Super Troopers'? A well done cop caper with shenanigans.😋
All IMO excellent comedic films,
My favourite line is "crazy city kids" just the way he screams it
Best Line in the movies when he says oh he's going to walk it off
You have got some serious Alyson energy going on! Hopefully you’re not as accident prone. So glad you watched this one.
This is the most wholesome way to watch a horror movie… smile, 10/10
Awesome! Thanks for the suggestions 🙂
Murder by Death 👍Yes please!
Young Frankenstein Absolutely!❤
Can't really go wrong with Mel Brooks.👍
Blazing Saddles, Space Balls (Have you seen the original Star Wars trilogy?),
History of the World Part 1, Dracula, Dead & loving it, High Anxiety, The Producers.. Mel is Legend👍
Consider 'Kung Pao - Enter the Fist' also, Glorious Kung Fu at its silliest 🤣
Have you seen 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail' or 'Life of Brian'?
Both legendary.😎
@@1ListerofSmeg some excellent additions though surprised you mentioned Dracula Dead and Loving It but not Robin Hood Men In Tights. lol
Well, since you've already opened pandora's box, I'd add in a few other must watches, like, Hot Shot 1&2, Airplane 1&2 and Weird Al's often overlooked and forgotten single movie, UHF!
Seriously WTF!!! lol How can you mention Kung Pow-Enter The Fist and not also recommend Steven Chow's comedic masterpieces Kung Fu Hustle and Shaolin Soccer, NOT COOL BRO! lmao
Or Jackie Chan's, Drunken Master and Legend of the Drunken Master!
Just giving you a hard time, though I was honestly surprised, since both Kung Pow and Mel's, Dracula are less well known than Kung Fu Hustle and Men in Tights, so extra props for going with great, but more obscure titles!
@@po5283 Nice additions👍
..🤔 I used to be in a band with a 6'3" ginger viking bass player named Po. Coincidence?
... Yeah Probably 😋
Either way I am well and truly chastised in exactly the spirit intended.😋
( I do lean towards suggesting the less obvious if possible [but sometimes not lol] as someone is def going to be suggesting naked gun etc...)
I can only use accidental oversight as an excuse with a touch of:
'OMFG look at the size of this novel I have written so far with 7 edits & nobody will read this far anyway and btw...what was I talking about ..'
And... I already had another novella in the comments here somewhere lol.
Sheer oversight-> ❤UHF & RHMiT❤
MUCH unawareness of UHF & this needs to change.
(I have a fun story about walk this way when she hits Young Frankenstein 😏.)
If NSS sees this do consider
'Amazon Women on the Moon' and also 'City Slickers' (not wacky or absurd it's Billy Crystals cowboy movie)
If you have read this far, have ice cream.
🙂
Edit: OF COURSE there is an edit..🤗
Love Jackie Chan - I prefer First Strike, & both Shanghai the RH series is fun.👍
Loooove the evil dead franchise my fave.
Yes, pull the stingers out, but if you use tweezers, they’ll squeeze more venom into the skin, making it hurt more. If you use the edge of a credit card, it pulls it out without squeezing the venom out.
A cold compress helps after removing the stingers. 😁
I loved this movie and your reaction. A perfect twist on the " Killer redneck" theme. Truthfully, youre safer camping in the woods of Ky than you are on the East side of Detroit at night. Ive been to both so i know. God bless you, and glad you enjoyed this. ✌️❤️ from Ky
This reaction was such a pleasure to watch you are absolutely adorable!
This movie is great, love to see people enjoying it and your reaction was really cool.
Can't wait for your next one, I'm already checking notifications haha. ^^ Just subbed a few days ago, keep it up!
"It was defiantly your kind." Not a word.
Guess what?
One of the best movies! I love this movie and love this woman’s reaction!
this movie is fantastic, it is super silly but you cant not love it! Alan and Tyler are just the perfect cast for this story, nothing but a good watch. Really had fun with your reaction🤣
this movie is in my top10 of all time
Just subscribed during Tucker and Dale reaction..😋...love reaction channels...hope to see more
You have such an incredible smile and seem like such a genuine person.
This and Cabin in the woods are two best takes on slasher horror ever.
Mr. Right is another strange ride and ends in love. You will love it.
Love this film. Theres so many movies like this that get over looked and they need more love.
i saw it in a sneak preview, in cinema back when it came out. one of my faves.
Great reaction! This movie is brilliant! Fave scene is when Dale combat rolls over Tucker 😂
Thanks it was a blast watching the movie with you
This is pretty funny! They have a follow-on movie (by the same team, but not connected) "Little Evil" that's good also. I also watched a movie recently that was a bit of a hidden gem, "Mindhorn". Quite funny!
Great reaction, excellent channel! So glad you enjoyed this movie can't wait to see what you react to next. 😊👍
Would highly recommend 1999-Ravenous
I'm sure others have mentioned this, but since you liked this movie, you should really check out Cabin in the Woods. It's another one that takes the usual tropes of horror movies and has a field day turning them in weird directions.
I loveeeeed Cabin in the Woods! Such an awesome take on horror.
Honestly, this is how I think it would go if I tried to be an action hero...
I'd wind up face first into a wood chipper
"Too much taxidermy." LMAOOOO
Great movie. I love your channel and taste in movies.
Thanks! 😄
dale is such a sweetheart
"Are you OK?" Genius.
The movie comes across as "intelligence vs wisdom"
Another horror comedy that’s super obscure is ‘Ed and His Dead Mother’ (1993)
This was so much fun. Glad you enjoyed this🙂
I completely forgot about this movie. And tbh it is alot funnier when u watch someone react to it :D
I love this movie and I'm so glad you love it too!
As for recommendations, I vote for horror/comedy "John Dies at the End. "
The reporter in the beginning and the black guy are power ranger reporter in Lightspeed rescue and the other SPD
Great reaction… and your voice is soothing to the ears.
this film is one of the best one´s ever!
and beer does solve all problems!
