When fishing for salmon you need to leave a large loop of line off your reel. So when a salmon takes the fly it will turn back downstream, let it go. Then when the loop of line has gone then strike. Your success rate will improve this way.
You are striking way too fast sir, let the fish take, TURN to go back to its holding fish and then strike, i guarantee your hook up ratio will raise a LOT. Hold the hookset for a sec or 2 and watch your landed percentage skyrocket:)

Best possible advice
Get a net buddy, it's much easier on both you and the hookhold in the fish, if you release fish buy a rubber net..
Your right handed, you should reel with left! Quit switching hands! Very clumbsy
