Wow! I haven't seen a haul like that since I was a kid! If you've never hauled in more than a thousand at a time, you don't know what you're missing! Very exciting..never could learn pole fishing!
You can do this job if you're into crappy wet weather, no-see-ums, stinging jelly fish, no sleep, a skipper that screams loudly, ( not all) no guarantees for success every season, and barfing until you get your ses legs. These are just a few of a fisherman's favorite things!
Thanks for putting that food on the table 💪💯. Good stuff hard work. Does it pay good? Bet you have to have some sort of experience to work on a ship like that.
It can pay good depending on how many you catch! Seining usually requires some experience but not always. Tendering is a good way to get into the industry.
Hi. Nice boat. Glad to see this kind of videos. Helps us benchmark our fishing operation. May i know the specs of your nets how long and deep in fathoms?
That’s what all those rings are that come up along the side of the boat-they’re attached to the bottom of the net. This video explains it a little better ua-cam.com/video/h9K2JLduw_Q/v-deo.htmlsi=rUUP8jgS-qAinmY1
You filled two and a half tenders, or was it three? Is there any breakdown on total caught in the number of fish? How much did the boat get paid, and what was used for the Kodiak area salmon permit holders? And did the salmon go to food banks, or was it all sold to the market?
I think it was two and a half tenders… I like to stay away from numbers in my videos, but we did really well! Most if not all of this fish was sold on the market.
Cost Recovery is a special season at the hatchery where the hatchery allows the processors to bid on quotas, then the processor selects boat(s) to participate in cost recovery. Boats get paid a fraction of the normal price per pound, but the volume can make up for it.
I’m in California. I don’t think I’ve ever seen pink salmon at the store. Generally we sockeye, silver, and rarely king. Does these just stay up there or are they canned?
They get canned primarily. There are some fresh market sales in Japan. Maybe S. Korea and China by now. Like tuna is usually in a can outside of California and the 5 star restaurants.
sir, is your agency here in the philippines for 10 years. I have been in fishing. I hope you can help me apply there. Nothing happened to my salary. It's low here in the Philippines
@MaxKobuk lol ok man that'll save the species ? Alaska has let there fisheries go to shit? How's your kings runs ohh shutdown in the rivers and because of the that you upd the sockeye limit smart move lol and now you'll over fish the silvers and dumpies yeah bro you know what your doing haah but hey blame the single line guys... you commercial guys and society needs to slow the fuck down emennnnn?!!!
@@MaxKobuk yeah im sure that will save the species lol you ppl have ravaged the king runs hense you had to shut it down, your hatcheries couldn't come close to keeping up so then you up the sockeye quota to make up for it lol good move now the sockeye will disappear and you'll turn to silvers and dumpies and ravage those as well... you commercial guys are the entire problem and the fact you cant see that cuz its how you make your living is ridiculous!!!!

Very hard work
Incredible catch🎉 thanks
Thanks for stopping by!
👍 молодці не поганий улов
That is sort of terrifying when you see the size of the haul and realize this is just one boat one time, not day - one haul!
😍loveble moment❤️
I love your videos.
Great job

And anything 38 feet and smaller you are likely stuck using a bucket.
That a good video.

Waoooo I want to know more about fishing
Very interesting video. What do you mean by "cost-recovery"??
The hatchery auctions away this fishery to the canneries in order to recover the costs it takes to raise all their salmon
Google google very good

❤
What is the beam of the Anthem. Looks like 22 ft. Insane.
And your deckload capacity?
31’ wide and around 200-220 depending on the fish
INSANE. 58x31 what?????????????
It’s almost a square. Ha ha ha ha.
What is cost recovery fishing vs. normal season? Is there a difference? Does cost recovery affect the amount paid to the boat?
Cost Recovery is a special season at the hatchery where the hatchery allows the processors to bid on quotas, then the processor selects boat(s) to participate in cost recovery. Boats get paid a fraction of the normal price per pound, but the volume can make up for it.
I like fishing ❤

What are they good for dog food
Yes but also pink salmon is delicious, and some people even prefer the meat of salmon that have transitioned into their freshwater state
You can't even smoke the humpy out of them, ya I guess if you were starving you can choke it down@@MaxKobuk
Молодцы, круто👍
Eat sleep fish and repeat keep it up
