Best if you have the right line to match a rod. You can often use one size line larger for a rod but when you use a smaller size, then you don't get the full action of the rod. You could use a six weight for the trout and salmon at this location. Hope this helps
Awesome fishing guys thank you the Vermonter
Great video Colin 👍🎣 Nice tactics on water craft ( reading the water ) . And knowledge of where fish hold 👍👍👍👍
been watching Atlantic salmon fishing in Norway . where the 20+ fish roam . that would be a great visit for you all.
Excellent video. Handsome fish.
LOVE IT!
Good times
No chance to get a picture, what up ???
What type of flies do you guys use for coho Salmon
These are Atlantic salmon. Cohos are Pacific fish and take different flies.
If I were to use a 7 Wt rod. Would I have to also use a 7wt line or could I use a 6.

The New Fly Fisher thank you. I always wondered how that worked. Guess I’ll have to buy some line when I buy my new rod. Have a great day!
Using a lighter line is okay if you are a strong caster. Also I sometimes use a #6 on a #7 rod when throwing a lot of line, say 60' - 70'.
Крючки хорошие,рыба не сходит, когда прыгает из воды. Бренд изготовителя крючка?
It appears most of the fish caught are not very much bigger than a grilse (24").
Most of the salmon caught on that river are 5-8 pounds, with the odd 10-12 pounder. But what they lack in size they make up for it in numbers of fish.
Does the website for this place still work? It hasn't been working for me.
Aaron, thanks for letting us know. I have emailed the manager of the lodge and he will hopefully get it back up shortly.
