- In a special part of Newfoundland there is a remote river that is famous for dry fly fishing for Atlantic Salmon. In this fascinating video, Colin McKeown travels to Arluk Lodge to learn how to present dry flies to very aggressive and acrobatic Atlantic Salmon. Lots of great techniques, patterns and much more in this video! To learn about Arluk Outfitters: arlukoutfitters.com

Yep that bucket list keeps getting longer. Guess I better get the house sold and get that motor home soon. Thanks for the videos.
I’ve fished this river in mid July. Not as far up by the lodge but toward sops arm. Great spot, Filled 4 tags in the 3 days we fished. White wing blue charm with a half hitch is a go to for us there.
Absolutely love your channel, I’m very new to fly fishing and born and raised in Maine. I watch your videos the second they are posted. Love everything you do as a group and thanks for the great quality
Awesome, thank you!
I've lived in Maine for much of the last 40 years. It's a fly fishing paradise!
Awesome video! ☺🐟🐟
Spectacular video Colin 👍🎣
Thanks 👍
How about letting the other guy have a swing aswell?
Nice film, like to know how to tie the Colins killer ?
I’ve literally never seen a fish take a dry at my local creek
7 and 8wt rods work just as well in Labrador as they do on the island. 10wt would be overkill, and 9wt is a bit heavy unless you're on a river known for large fish like the flowers or the eagle.
How does the prices range for a week or so in this fly fishing paradise? (assuming I'm in the nearest airport to Arluk Lodge).
Elias, not sure what current rates are but I believe it was $4400 for a week when we were there. Hope you get to go!
Beautiful fish. I notice they have a really pronounced purple stripe along their flanks.
Yes they do, very specific to that river.
Also shows how fresh they are when they have those colours!
Too bad fishing there is only for the rich.. I'll never be able to fish such a place unfortunately.
To bad u guys wert so communist an didn't make everyone have a guide ,take a note form noviscotta Margaret river
