I was away from sport bikes for a decade and decided to get back on one and get the bike i lusted for when i was a younger rider. i also realized that my helmet needed replacing so i did a little digging on new helmets and looked at scorpion and Arai(both of which i have owned in the past) and the Scorpion won out. for the miles i would be doing (not many) and based on reviews i decided on the R1 air to replace my old Scorpion evo and Arai Haga replica. helmet is loaded with features and amazing material and build quality. very comfortable and wind does not really effect the helmet much at all, afterall it was designed and is used in motogp and wsbk. at 60mph or 120, the helmet deals with air very well. venting is very good as well in the summer heat i find. the tinted visor is more than adequate for bright days, but i will likely grab a darker one, just to have on hand. also at the price point i will likely wait until the winter holidays and see about getting another one in black (mine is the pearl white). great helmet for the money and would recommend to newer riders on a budget as well as people like myself who have been riding for many years.
GREAT write up. Glad you enjoy it. I've gotten to like this helmet a lot the more I've used it. One of best things I noticed is that is had removable sections to fit cardo speakers perfectly flush unlike my arai. And I can mount my microphone inside the cheek pad so everything is hidden and protected from being tampered. Which is awesome for recording videos with. Yeah it's obviously subjective. I just like my visors to be hard to see through from the outside myself. Dusk is fine. Of course night would be a lot harder to see. I've gotten a gold mirror visor which from the riders perspective is hardly tinted when looking out of. Which is awesome for evening rides. And of course, I get that incognito effect I wanted from it being impossible to see my face. Depending on country you are in, you may still get it shipped with the even darker visor!

I have an LS2 commute helmet with a dark visor, and in the tunnel, I see nothing. :) I'm looking forward to the Scorpion arriving. Thanks for the swift reply.
I find this helmet pretty loud to be honest, chin curtain is a little short, lots of wind noise from top cooling intake, also caches a lot more air than my agv k1s. Do you wear ear plugs?
I do wear ear plugs yes for the most part. Mainly because my exhaust is so loud. Agv are so comfortable, I just hate the pointy chin on myself, otherwise I would get an agv asap

The visor looks dark enough. How was the visibility at dusk? I ordered one before watching this video. Cool vid m8.
