    As someone who is pretty hard of hearing, hasn't played an electric guitar in probably a decade, and isn't the gearhead I was in high school - this has been super helpful! It sucks that there aren't really very many videos like this one out there (that I have found so far), but this has been a HUGE help for me. Can't wait to put my new Jaguar to the test! Thanks!!!

      I actually had a conversation with Ryan Mendez from Yellowcard. Those guys are all using passive pickup ESPs with Kemper blends of Diezel and Kranks. As a general rule for all those bands though I’d say a good Mesa Dual Rec is the way to go. All of those bands were using Mesa in the beginning

      Btw I can’t believe you got a chance to chill with Yellowcard man high school idol’s for sure! I’d kill for that time with them lol. Great feedback for me to consider I just ordered the slo 30 so I’m hoping I’m not disappointed if so I’ll swap for the Mesa boogie dual rectifier or 5150 was my other consideration but based off what you’re saying the Mesa boogie may have been the way to go over the slo but I do want to learn blue eventually and I also enjoy playing pop country stuff too and 80’s rock metal so I was told the SLO is overall the best in the flexibility category to do it all. We shall see I guess once I get it next week super stoked! Your the only pop punk review with this amp just crazy

    • @EverydayGuitarist
      @EverydayGuitarist  2 роки тому

      @@threadoflife I Absolutely love the SLO 30. I had one for awhile. Regret getting rid of it 😂. For the Punk thing go clean channel, bright switch, crunch switch. Depending on your pickups between 6-8 on the gain, bass at 4, mids at 4, treble at 6, depth with 5, pres at 7. Hit it with a boost (Klon or tube screamer probably). Instant thick punk tones.

    • @EverydayGuitarist
      @EverydayGuitarist  4 роки тому +1

      I like them both. It kind of depends. They’ll both do great though. The SD1 is more aggressive in the upper mids and lops off more low end than a TS9 so if that’s what you’re going for try that. Otherwise the TS is a great starting point.

    Is the Vox AC15 good enough?

      @EverydayGuitarist  4 роки тому

      I love the AC15 and you can definitely do Pop Punk with it, but depending on if it’s a Greenback or Alnico loaded one you may want to try something with a little less mid push because the AC15 is hard to dial mids out of.

      @@EverydayGuitarist yea our band has been struggling for a good pop punk tone cause there literally is no mid knob, so we are currently stuck at what to do

      @@satoshigurung2609 try a Boss GE-7 or other EQ pedal. The Vox is a great amp and an EQ will allow you to shape it any way you need
