This was my first time seeing the Tubes aged 19 and they blew my mind. I was so lucky to see them 2 years later on their UK tour. Unique and very talented band.
Such a great stage show and very innovative way back from 1975. Unfortunately The Tubes never really got their just fuel until they did She's a Beauty. I love the character Quay Lewd, Rock 'n Roll!
Always been criminally underrated in their seminal A&M period, loved them from that time, was lucky enough to see them in 79 when they were till playing their best stuff live. Best American band I ever saw.
Just caught them in Anaheim with Cheap Trick (Summer 2023), and they played WPOD, Mondo Bondage and What Do You Want From Life.... great show, they can still rock!
FN Genius R & R...Tubes were (r) way beyond beyond...their time... and into the Future...the rest of the world should / needs / to catch UP with the Tubes... !
Don't mean to offend anybody. This is all in love. The Tiuiubes and the Mothers of Invention. Truly two of the best rock and roll bands. 14 or 15 years old my step-brother turn me on to the Tubes and Frank Zappa.1974 or 1075. My bad ass dad turned me on to John Prine and Neil Diamond and Kris Kristofferson. They are three of my favorites. But when I listen to UA-cam, I have me a Frank and Fee. Satirical, thought-provoking lyrics and unbelievable musicianship. Oh my, that's some good stuff
Thank God-Bird-Change I am from San Francisco and I grew up seeing these guys. Not all music, not all concept, not all seriousness, not all humor, not all art, not all sex, not all weirdness...instead they were an incredible blend of all of the above.
Saw these guys a year later, in '78, at Concord Pavillion right before they went overseas to record the live album. Great show and will always remember it!
I'm sad to just now find out about Rick. R.I.P. Mr. Anderson. Met him twice and he was very nice and funny. Excellent bass player and Tube member as well.
Lived in SF, Saw-em so many times I lost count. Saw-em the night they got in A Big-Ol-Fight and kicked Spooner out of the Band. I think they did (They Kicked Me Out of the Band) that night. Saw-em Fee-less, Vince-less, Praire-less. Saw-em with that guy that looks like Ron Jeremy on keys. Even Saw-em at The Raindeer Lodge in Reno when it was 26 degrees out they were 2 hours late fucked-up Arguing & so loud my eyes bled.....Man, They Rocked!
..YOU RULE!...i went to bb kings in ny to see them some years ago..they had a different drummer..as a drummer i was bummed..during a break..i go take a whiz..and PP steps up to the next stall!..
@@latexsolarbeef4990 Prairie Prince, along with being priceless with the Tubes, is also an accomplished session drummer and tours fairly regularly with other bands. See his Wik page to read about it. One of the 8 or 9 times I've seen the Tubes since the late '70's, he was absent, touring with Todd Rundgren, btw the producer of their great Remote Control album. PP was with them this past Fall at the Riv near Buffalo, a place they still play regularly. They made him do a solo that night, and of course it was great. Fee, Steen and PP remain touring. One of a kind. Snapped a quick pick of him in the lobby when they came out to sign albums. He gave me a thrilling nod, and it's on my phone. Sorry, just a fan.
(6:00) Now it can be reaveled: The true origin of Q-Anon is...Quay Lewd! Yes, all the pieces are falling into place and it all makes sense now. (Despite what many have said, it never had anything to do with Pizza-gate or Q-Tips.) Forget psychedelics--the true key to enlightment was Rorer 714. Good luck with finding some.

RIP Rick Anderson. Incredible bassist and a perfect gentleman! I'm a veteran of 10 shows; they are simply the GOAT!!
I'm sad to just now find out about Rick. R.I.P. Mr. Anderson. Met him twice and he was very nice and funny. Excellent bass player and Tube member as well.
The Tubes and Devo are so under rated and way ahead of their time .
i love The Tubes band...and i love this song, is one of my fav... thanks for the video.... great show for this era...
I used to listen to this stoned. Back when it was still illegal so I was a rebel
The Tubes é fantástico!!! ✌️😎👍
filmed before they did their series of epic hammersmith odeon shows
captured live for the what do you want from live album
Either the original Power Rangers, or the dancers from Daft Punk's "Around the World."
I remember watching this when it was broadcast, with Rick's bass being non-functional on God-Bird-Change. Oh, and Fee's BBC-censored codpiece!
Yes, QL was known for having a large rubber appendage falling out of his costume...so decadent.
Al Dimeola!

Ok Now I get it where the concept for the power rangers came from!
Favolosi!!! Thanks for the upload.
Holy cow.
"Today's secret word is "Choreography". Can you say that? Sure I knew that you could"
Rick's rig dies during "God Bird Change" and he looks sad. Oh well.
Mingo - prog-rock'n with The Tubes! Where did he disappear to? ... Al D may know.
Mingo Lewis .un génie musical
Super.
The theatrics are probably from their Japan tour.
inspiration for the power rangers
My absolute first thought!
Is that Dee Snider singing WPOD?
