- Nicely produced show in San Francisco supporting the Outside Inside tour. Some of this has been posted but not the full show so here is my version.
Fantastic musicians. Always something going on. What a production. Always. 1977 first time I saw them I was under 18 so I had to sneak in ...I made it in. Fucked me up for life!!! Awesome
Pretty similar experience myself. Halloween 1976, I had just turned 15. They were still mostly playing first two lps but introduced "90 Pound Weakling" and maybe "Smoke" from Now. Fee wearing a fig leaf on "Madam I'm Adam" and similarly undressed lady dancers on other numbers. Radical for its time, for sure.
Tubes World Tour. La vie en Fumer. Don't touch me There. White Punks on Dope. I could go on ...but you're knowledgeable so I don't have to. Pleased to meetcha my friend. See ya round
Their fame came essentially from their live performances, that were great indeed, but I love them for their music. I've been revisiting their 7 studio albums and it made me realize that they're my favorite american band along with Steely Dan.
TUBES forever.....
God what a great band. Defined the 80s w Talking Heads
Theatrical Rock n Roll at it's finest.. The Tubes were way ahead of their time when it came to these live performances.. Go "Sputnik!" ;-)
These shows were off the hook. So fun. Killer music too
Prairie Prince bad ass drummer
@@Rhino1277HotRails ... Yes, very underrated!
these guys are incredible i saw them once along time ago at the college in Pella Iowa unreal
Absolutely awesome wow, thank you very very much
Thanks Man. BaddAss
Brilliant - thanks for upload.
AMAZING. Imagine a double bill, Tubes and Talking Heads. *mind blown*
I went to the outside inside concert in Saratoga NY.Eaven bought a T shirt. Wish I could seen them in the 70's I was 15 you had to be 18.
I had just turned 14 when I saw them Halloween 1976. No age restrictions at that show, which was kind of crazy given the antics on stage (Fee wore nothing but a fig leaf on Madam I'm Adam). That was the 70s for you.
I've always loved the tubes. They went thru a period..I don't care for the 80's trying to look corporate.More fun when they just be themselves.
i saw this tour at some collage outside Atlanta, cant remember the place...they were great...Bill Spooner was in a leg cast, sitting down. i don't think Bill liked Monkey Time....lol.
I love this band SO much. But I can't stop thinking about the fact that I'd kill to be in Michelle Gray's place. Just sayin'.
For me one David Bowie was enough but their cover of "Monkey Time" is phenomenal.
5 stars
PLEASE REPLY WITH ANSWERS ! BE SO GRATEFUL ! What was that thing on Fee's head or what did it represent ?
That's his giant plastic greaser hair-do for his Tip of My Tongue character. Before the Beatles and long hair a greased up pompadour was the idea of cool. So it represents him being an out of date (for 1983) hipster.
Fee. Being Fee. These shows were so fucking crazy. You never knew what was going to happen. You just knew the music would be kick ass, there would be quality tits and ass, and you would have fun. And you were in for it.
This band is so bad ass too.
The goof where he pulled girl from crowd always freaked everyone out. Total setup, this era they're at the top of their game
Always with smoking hot dancers. Is that so wrong?. No. It's not. These shows were so fun
is she Tinda Leventhal?
Todd Rundgren's wife Michelle
