I was a fan and the Tubes and British punk took me thru puberty with a smile on my face 61 now I love the Tubes bill spooner the Tubes rods and cones the flash cubes alternative names
Still crazy after all these years....1977 Bristol England Tubes show. Still one of the best nights of my life. Kept the free Camels thrown out during what do you want from life plus Vince Welnicks sweaty towel also thrown to crowd...poor Vince..😔
I took a blue bear class with Bill in 1993. Was a great time! Last time i saw him was at the Sweetwater in 1995. He gave me his biz card, still have it but bet the phone # is wrong now. Love ya Bill!
You hardly have the "outtakes" from this? I notice you cut away frequently? Or the unused footage. Sadly there aren't a whole heap of uploads of Bill like this. I'm really thankful to you for uploading this, though. It's brilliant. Take care.
hi, this is a long shot but here goes, i once took guitar lessons in the 60s,from mike kessler, and one lesson you, bill spooner was at his house..do you rem this, and is mike still around? he taught me to play by ear..dont know how, but it worked....mikes band was the uncalled four..can you reply plz? thx
hmm....didn't mention Fee Waybill....different personalities back in the day or now too i guess . i heard fee mention bill as loving the blues guitar and roger loving hendrix and so on , not long ago , around 2017 ?
This might be minutiae, but Bill points out Prairie playing guitar in that Peavey ad, but it's definitely Rick, is it not? I definitely see Roger and Michael Cotten.. I looked it up online and looks more like Rick playing bass in the ad. Maybe it's Bill's shades altering reality? Its just weird to me and felt like I needed to comment. Love Bill!!!
I Just Saw Golds For The Completion Backward Principle And Outside/Inside. And I Noticed The Dates At The Bottom Of Them. They're So Blurry I Can't See What Dates They Are. The Completion Backward Principle. I Think It Says March, 1982 Or 1983. And Outside/Inside. July, 1983? Hey Bill. If You Get A Chance, Can You Tell Me What The Dates Were?
Welp, it only took you only 25 seconds to deploy the excruciatingly overused adjective "awesome." The world has been taken over by pod people who are not only not embarrassed to use this word; it's their adjective of choice.

Bill...looking back he was obviously the creative force behind the best years of this band - pre CBP
Always moving on, and reinventing himself. Always a talent!

Very positive to listen to this interview.
I know this is really old, but I would have never recognized Bill from this video, never!!
The tubes should be in the hall of fame. I mean Blondies in there.
Bill seems to be a really down to earth guy. Nice video.
well, this is about the coolest thing I've seen in a whole hecka while!
There is no one like Mr. Spooner!
I cut that ad from a magazine and put it on my wall in 1977; still have it somewhere. Saw the Tubes many times in the late 70s/early 80s.
Bill never forgets my brother Bob. Thank you Bill.
Heather Hansen I knew Bob, too. what a wonderful person 💕
Do you have any pics of Bob? I was madly in love with him in SF and still think of him today
Such a great writer! I used to sneak into his room and read his writings. He never knew.

Bill's a hall of famer to me!!
Spooner was friends with my friend and neighbor Satty .

This the same Bill Sputnik Spooner that used to slap around Burke Reynolds at there 73 shows?
@SkipdeMilieu Indeed, Spooner is AWESOME.

BILL!!!!!!!!!!!
Bill should've stayed with The Tubes. Big mistake that he left. He and the BAND would've been better off.

It's not Roger, but rather Prairie.

Lani Silver was awesome. Sputnik has got some Native in him. Bill and the Tubes belong in the RRHOF not Steve Miller and his cheese rock
wow he looks so different....It's funny how time is not kind to some people
I thought he looks great. When people choose to step out of the limelight in can sometimes surprise you when you see them again all that time later.
He looks good but looks very different-sort of a thinner looking face. His voice sounds different too.

Read The Gospel According To Luke. You will know the real Spooner. Steve Lukather was a real mastermind of two of The Tubes' greatest hits.
I’ll take space baby and slipped my disco over Talk to ya and she’s a beauty any day. Music is subjective.
I'll take a Spooner lead too.
Annoying this stupid image editing, doesnot do right toward this great artist.
I would have loved to see Bill's eyes..tho'....
