Dallas Modern Home Selected by AIA

- dallasmodernhomes.com/ Architect Graham Greene of Oglesby-Greene designed a contemporary home on an extraordinary site, high on a bluff, overlooking White Rock Creek in the gated community of the Glen Abbey neighborhood. Nature becomes the central design element of this home as the glass walls of windows provide transparency for the meandering streams, waterfalls, koi ponds, and the negative edge pool found in the garden. The distant view is of White Rock Creek and endless treetops in the distance. Engineering and materials are combined to create open, dynamic and intimate spaces. The Dallas Chapter of AIA has chosen the home both for architectural awards and for the location of the patron party for the AIA Modern Home Tour.

Amazing architecture. This host has a great delivery. He has a charisma reminiscent of a Walt Disney or someone from earlier programs. It's refreshing, especially in these days and times.
Oh I wish I could afford all that glass, steel beam, wood and rock the perfect elements for living, Oh wishing well, wish me my wishes, lol
I really love modern and contemporary architectures and designs they are absolutely stunning
Damn man, you took a video camera there and took photos with it? You had one job..!
Windex and/or Pinesol is also happy with this creation.
😄😄😄
It's a beautiful home, and it became even more beautiful when I muted the audio.
that’s not the real you talking, it is your ego, who needs to be superior to people, to separate yourself from them, be good to others, you do not know their story
i thought you may say that, it was an observation,
be good to people, everyone s trying their best
stunningly beautiful home! I've just relocated here to Dallas and love Mr. Newby's insightful website and videos.
My ideal color combinations and environments. Awesome home!

its not a home its an experience
Wow!!! What a magnificent home. Thank you for sharing.
Just magnificent I enjoyed the interior decor as well as the outside landscape, and I especially liked the way the narrator described such an awesome home with such enthusiasm. I really liked all the openess that the large windows provided.
Wow Wow Wowww... this is one of the most beautiful sophisticated Modern homes... its for this amazing feel to it as it flows inside out...Thanksssssss
People are complaining and inputting their irrelevant opinions about this home, like they own it or will ever! This home was architecturally, strategically built from every detail!
As usual Mr. Douglas Newby wonderful job.
What a lovely property. Congratulations.
love the design. love the modern timeless look
Perfect Settings for a superb Design
This is now my dream home.
Wow! Speechless, the house says it all!
Dallas AIA award home video
Fabulous! Love it!
The reason few homes have all of the attributes mentioned is because of $$$...'s!
Next..
So beautiful greens. ♡♡ Love the architecture.
Great design that integrates abroad
😍😍😍 love it.. but too much glass... and i love the house location😍 it's perfect!!!👌👌
Looks very nice, but now that I live in an apartment where nearly half of the walls are glass, I understand it's not that easy ! View is a dream (at least when weather conditions are not too ugly), but heating and cooling is a pain ! You need to be able to hide all this glass from the sun at times, that's east. south and western sides, and maintaining a constant temperature is a permanent struggle.
inspiring and organically stunning!
I thought I was listening to an audible book for a second. Damn my life... FUCk I want this home!
A spiral staircase into the wine cellar? That makes sense. Wine is a special treat, so it makes sense to make a mini adventure out of getting it, considering it's light and easy to bring back up. Now if I had to go down that staircase to grab a bunch of folding chairs or do the laundry, that would suck.
If only my income matched - school teachers can't live in places like this, but I teach design and this is a dream!
+Denise Harman You ll have the house of your dream. Could you really live in such a huge place??? I wouldn't. l love nature and natural light but my energy must fill the house. If there is a big family it can fill it. If not. You don't buy this thing.
I am a registered architect, only thinking about millions of homeless people in the world, so I have been designing stacking container housing for the poor to let them sleep indoor. George Wu, AIA, ARCHITECT,NCARB 2017-8-23
By the way, I drew a set of drawings for the Taft Residence to win the National A.I.A. award for Charlie Gwathmey. Now my set was donated to the museum by his widow. George Wu, AIA, ARCHITECT,NCARB 2017-8-23
Should've picked a different career
wow. It is a dream home for anyone. But with those walls made of glass only I feel insecure.
agreed
sappo14 ....maybe u should stay in ur cave!

I agree but now they have blinds that come down from the ceiling that are nearly see through yet offer privacy. Like the car shades where it's what a white on one side and black on the other people looking into the home won't be able to see you but you can still see out. These blinds aren't cheap because they're the length of the wall.
@AvengeVoltaire After the last year we have all experienced (even here in Dallas) there is just no way to feel safe in that home.
The next to stream thing and the nature, the creek is what first strikes me and hold my eyes, on the house. The pond and the waterfall makes me melt! I dream of a house next to such a kind of nature. The natural light in the house is another plus. Oclahoma stone is beautiful and i like the fair collor, but i wouldn't mix stone and glass because it makes me feel cold. I like the 23 f windows but ... how do we clean them? What i don't like is the size too big without reason just for vanity and the lines with the glass and steel (i mean the metallic parts) gives somekind of industrial line, that cut it out of the nature and make it cold. When the nature is so magnificent around i want the house to please the nature. I want the trees to love watching the building consider it a part of the landscape. I don't think they love this... Its only one way perspective. What we get from them. We must care of what we give to them too.
Absolutlly stunning...wow!!
wow I'm blown away
Fantastic house.
Omg Soo beautiful...
Nothing like watching how the rich live.
The funny thing is the rich may not have time to stay home

I had a friend who stayed six months out of the year for free in a multi-million-dollar mansion because the homeowner was gone half the year promoting his business. My friend just pretty much made it looked lived in make sure the six multi-million-dollar cars weren't stolen and kept up the yard work and stuff like that. Pretty funny.
It will most likely stay empty, except for a few weeks vacation.... wealthy people buy this kind of homes to speculate with real estate... that's the case where I live, 5 - $50 million houses along the water, 90% of them are empty when I sail near the coast, I only see gardeners or security.
You was blessed with that smile your wealth is next
You act like you don't have the same opportunity
Please somebody buy this house for me. . I am in love with this house.☺
best anchoring..salute
Beautiful home
Il y a des belles prestations dans cette maison
Gorgeous
Very beautiful house
Price is always important to me Dad, I plead that you always give us the price please
This is absolutely beautiful I love it. Around how much does it cost?
Incredible
And the price of this home is just 2 souls..... All kidding aside. Beautiful home.
Amazing
1:20. Um, you DID say 23 foot windows from floor to ceiling, correct ? Well, I have to admit at 1:20 they look superb but a negative is that these beautiful windows could only really exist on a home that is in a temperate and warm/hot temperatures. The amount of heat that would have to be forced into a room with 23 feet windows, let alone glass windows, would/could either made this home or break it - glass certainly is not a great insulation material, so to ensure that this space is heated and warmed all day throughout some months , would cost a small fortune in heating bills alone, am I correct ? I do love how the outdoors, how nature is really the canvas , the work of art around your home, that concept is awesome.
Me thinks that heating bills are not a big concern to the owner of this home.
It's just as expensive to cool the place in hot weather.... you need 24/7 air conditionning !!! Texas...
I'm sure that was all taken into consideration during the building of the home, therefore I would expect the windows all to be triple

Beautiful. Now, how much to get it out of Texas?
MediaWatchDawg LOL
How come he doesn't have access into the house?
what about safety of the house?? as some walls are made of just glass...
perfect for a big fucking earthquake-magnitude 8.5 on the richter
Superb 👌👌
okay, how much?
how much its coust? let me know i just have wining lottory and its a closed deal! i tack it!
how many maids do you need to keep this place neat and tidy like it's shown now.
대박!!
Wonder what kind of profession could afford this kind of house
Being rich is awesome!
I'm in love
address?
天井が高過ぎる
Listed for 8 million. For that price the glass better be ballistics proof grade.
What about security with all those glass walls? How could a person sleep at night in that house?
true swagger
this a cool house
What the house is missing is a defence system, for when the starving masses come after the wine cellar and anything else left to eat. One literal critique is the use of stone for floors and landscaping walls etc., outside. Some 80 yr. old fossil will slip and get killed, rather than just bruised, if all that outside work that people contact was wood and not stone. Falling down stone steps hurts. Also, when the Great Texas drought comes, this house will get a little musty.
$6,151,300 - wow
what about crocodile?
Nice corr’dor
Too much Glass..... ;-(
how much dis trap cost
$1
7 million

All that glass compromises privacy.
+UhuruSasa85 you are in the woods homie
peter milko u Dont know who lurks in the Woods such Open glass windows creepy af at night if u havent experienced it u wouldnt know bye
godiskungen27 I hate to be the one to break it to you, but drapes has been invented.
glass is somewhat necessary when you're talking bout a house this big, if you had the lights on instead of the natural light, your electricity bill would be insane. besides, a glass house just looks 10 times more luxurious
Burton L um no dummy a person that buys a home such as this would not put drapes in it hence the lack of privacy
i can haz?
😍

1977 just called...

If one is concerned about keeping the glass clean, you're in the wrong socioeconomic milieu.
Money, what money? Just pay the man.
Oh shit! This guy looks like a young white James Earl Jones...just without his voice. LMAO.
too damn hot
should drink a few bottles of wine BEFORE ascending that spiral staircase
now that i can afford a $5 McDonalds, i would love to go down to the cellar and get a nice glass of wine with my big Mac lol.
after i see this house i feel that i don't have to much but I'm happy.there is some rich people that they're so poor in their lives, that the only thing that they have is money.
