I think you underestimate the power of the Nintendo brand. They don't need to compete with these handhelds. In fact they are not competing with them based on sales. The market for handheld PC's is relatively small and that's not without reason. First of all, people don't buy Nintendo Hardware for gaming power and performance. They buy Nintendo hardware mainly because of Mario, Pokemon and Zelda. And if they can deliver new Mario, Pokemon and Zelda games that looks even better and cooler than what they did on the Switch then that will be enough for most fans to buy the system. The second reason why most people don't buy these PC handhelds (or android handhelds) comes down to the OS and user experience. Most of these devices don't come with something like SteamOS installed. For a handheld you just wanna pick it up and start gaming within seconds, not wait for launchers to load and mess around with mouse cursors and stuff (especially when on a shaky bus or train for example). This is where a gaming dedicated OS is really desirable. Third reason is that these devices are usually bulky and have poor battery life when running them at high power (And the high performance is why you would get these I suppose) So the way I see these handhelds are more as a hobbyist device for people who just want to push graphics as much as possible on a handheld (sacrificing convenience and user experience) This might change a bit the day Microsoft decides to allow you to install an Xbox OS on any PC turning any and all PC's into Xboxes. Or when Valve allows you to install SteamDeck OS on any PC. But even then I don't think Nintendo needs to worry because they still have their games and people are more than happy to overpay a bit for the hardware in order to play those games. Just consider this.. The most successful PC hand held (the steam deck) has only sold about 3 million units. Compare that to the Wii U (which was considered a failure).. It still sold about 13.5 million units during it's short-lived life. This is something to think about.
I keep hoping developers would take the hint and realize the success of Switch and handheld PCs means that you don't need to push graphics so hard to succeed... but here we are with games that need 12 GB of video RAM + 16 GB of system RAM to get a smooth framerate.
Im confident the Go 2 will have, at minimum, an 80wh battery. They should go with a 100wh but 80 will do. I still have my 250wh anker battery bank, so it's whatever.

This is not aimed at Nintendo market's but Valve's. Mostly parent would not buy those consoles for their kids. They are still portable pc devices for young workers with disposable income. They are also all digital. Like Valve's offering, how much are you willing to pay to play games ?
An advantage that the Nintendo Switch has over all these PC handhelds, even the Steam Deck, is that it's thinner and lighter. I see a lot of people bringing that up
I find the Steam Deck to be a lot more comfortable to hold and use for long sessions, especially the lighter OLED model. The Switch is a flat slab and isn't very ergonomic, while the Steam Deck has a perfect shape to it.
Although the steam deck is more powerful and gives you access to your steam library on the go the Switch however gives you access to Nintendo exclusives like Pokemon, Fire Emblem, Zelda etc. If I only had enough money for 1 of them I'd choose the Switch and just stick to pc for my steam games.
I don't see it as an advantage. It's size is still too big to carry around. It maybe lighter but not much. For a lot of people, it's partly from marketing and exclusive titles. When it comes to game quantity, steam still has more. You can also emulate most Switch games on the steamdeck and other devices.

When it comes to handheld PCs, The question I find myself asking is: how much power do you actually need on the go? I can’t understand why someone would spend more than $600 on a handheld PC. Because we know that a handheld PC can never replace your desktop. It can never be your only gaming PC. And considering there are thousands and thousands of games on Steam why would you spend that much money just to play the top one percent of games? Just wait till you get home and play those games on your desktop. Do you really need to play Indiana Jones that badly on the go that it’s worth $800? That seems insane to me. What are we doing here? I’m glad I bought the original Legion go for less than $500 on Black Friday. It’s more than enough power than I’ll ever need to play 80% of my library. I don’t think I’ll be getting bored when I’m away from my desktop PC with that many choices and if I run into something that the legion go can’t play then I’ll just play it on my desktop when I get home. So no, I’ll be skipping all of these overpriced next GEN handheld’s. And I would recommend that everyone else do the same and try to find an OG Legion go or ROG ally for less than 500 bucks while you still can.

I happen to like those games so I'm staying a nintendo customer. I dont care for their party games but i tink its nice they offer the option to people who play with friends and family. @deangordon8993
@@WaffleExplosion99um…what you stated is an opinion. What the OP states is a FACT. YOU don’t like their games and think it’s kiddie games. The wider market says otherwise evidenced by the constant crazy sales of not only the switch itself but the first party games Nintendo releases. As OP said they’re in a different category. That category isn’t for everyone sure, not for you I guess. But ‘you hear this all the time’ because it’s a FACT bud 😂
@@WaffleExplosion99 that’s the opinion of a closed minded and ignorant gamer that’s not play the Nintendo switch, only thing I agree with you about is the E shop being complete garbage.
Because the price is in Euro. It probably includes tax.
Not interested on a handheld that will be on clearance at best buy at few months after release
Merry Christmas to you and your family. Despite being a huge Sony fanboy You're not too bad a guy... Or So it may seem.😊
Having 2 is good for longevity. If one stops working you still have another.
If the Go S isn't $400 at most then it has no reason to exist
Ps vita must be your price range
What the hell is a USB 4 do you mean zc
I see many people in here bring up Switch affordability. Oh boy, are you gonna be surprised when the successor hits the market! Merry Christmas!
Reddit has known this for 2 weeks now. Great reporting.
Not everyone is a basement dwelling Redditor.
If these things are getting too expensive I'll just wait for a switch or valves successor
