Certainly Americans are intimidated. Europeans are more accustomed. They're introduced to opera from an early age. I've heard street sweepers singing operatic arias early in the morning in Italy, while they worked.
It comes across as high-brow, but this is one of the most well known opera duets of all time. More annoyed it took them a while to realise it was two people, it’s called the Flower Duet for a reason!
Being a singer myself. I have too say these women are ABOVE doing a show like this. They are THAT DAMN GOOD...!!! I HIGHLY doubt their is anything these coaches could teach them that they don't already know. When your operatically trained like these two women must be. That's sets a bar WAY ABOVE everyone else.
so I met Barbara on music tour in Italy and she is now my first voice coach...funny thing is, they weren't even trying to be on this show. She told me they sang in front of someone high up on the voice production list and that individual told them they should go on the show and they originally declined....Then Barbara said they talked about it and got asked again and basically said screw it "we'll do it" …then ended up making it to the second around, literally not even really trying. Cool thing too is, she told me there was a young lady singer who they picked up and began mentoring, she ended up being the one that knocked them out of the contest and she was so proud of the young lady...Barbara is a god sent being for sure. she's a voice coach and therapist for me hahaha
I cannot even express properly in words my feelings when hearing such magnificent voices. This is even too sublime for this show somehow but I feel honored to listen to them! I don't get it how can they speak while listening to opera!

This is my favourite operatic piece. Every time I hear it I think of British Airways and going on holiday as child to wonderful places. It brings back warm and fuzzy feelings for me.
british airways chose this song because it translates to English as "we steal your bag, we steal your bag, we steal your bag whenever you fly with us. We steal your bag, we steal your bag, we steal your bag and never give it back".
This drives me insane... This is real singing and it has minimal views compared to the others. These woman can sing better than 90 percent of the competition yet have no fan base because this generation in ignorant when it comes to talent.
joey allen I agree. We get fed main stream pop on a daily basis that people tend to forget what real music and real singing is. They are both incredible...
Peter Frances Why do people think classical/opera is the only real music? Last I checked adele or sia sing just as much as this girls. So how can you say these are real singers, and pop singers aren't?
Translation : Under the thick dome, where the white jasmine Assembles at the rose, On the river of flowers, laughing in the morning. Come, let's descend together. Gently, let's slip Around its charming flood. Let's follow the fleeing current With one careless hand let's reach for the bank, Come, let's find the bank Where the source sleeps. And the birds, the birds sing. Under the thick dome, Under the white jasmine, Let's descend together.
I agree... After watching this, I understood Danny’s reluctance. It’s not that he doesn’t want them, it’s realising that he might not have that capacity to coach them vocally as classical singers.. might end up doing harm to them than good vocally.
I'm french, watching the show in France... that's amazing, oustanding, gorgeous....to be able and to have the courage to show this, omg, you're just divine. thanks for bringing poetry and glamour and unique talent on tv like you do...
I was enthralled when I watched this on The Voice. I love bikes, classical music and now I love you two! Am currently touring France, in my motorhome and the first thing I did when I gained wi-fi access was to listen to you again, here. Good luck - you both deserve every success.
It is not me who hears their voices. The whole earth stops and makes the light that rocks us escape from its throats. Thank you for revealing that dream to us ...
Carla And Barbara, that is the kind of music and singing you want to just close your eye`s and soar with the Angels,Outstanding Performance Ladies that was so good to see and to listen to,awe inspiring that this was met with such a reaction,Brilliant, come to Cornwall and there are places down here that would be superb for your voices to soar.Mike B,Cornwall.
Actually they would have had better success on The Voice, granted none of the judges really had the connections needed for Opera, however The Voice is more upscale than Got Talent, require actual talent before you can even be allowed on the show and not just beacuse you'd make good TV
I dunno why, but i got tears in my eyes from listening the first time to this, somewhere around 36/37 seconds the first tear showed up and slowly a few more followed over the course of the song. Simply breathtaking, beyond ghostbumps for me.
Totally agree with you. I think she's an absolute dote and love her on the show. She's a great talent and a very warm personality and I can't get over all these people just looking for something to critisise her for. SO undeserved!
Thank you so much for bringing opera to the show (I'm trying to learning this song, but it's so hard as I'm not a French speaker!). The X Factor hasn't had a classical singer in the finals since Rhydian in 2007, so it's good to see The Voice giving other genres a chance. I really hope the two of you do well...I'm seriously rooting for you. Jemma x
REALLY wasn't expecting it. And I don't think I appreciated it at the time because of that. After I re-watched it I really love them. And it brings something totally new to this show.
I haven't seen these opera competitions but have seen the Van Cliburn competition and have always thought that classical music is under-appreciated. A part of this is the reticence of classical music performers to "boldly go where they haven't gone before" to attract new fans. When I was a child the Denver Symphony came to our high schools to play concerts in the school gymnasiums and then talk to interested students. Unfortunately, for some reason they haven't done this in years.
It’s so beautiful it’s heart warming. You must have a dead soul not to hear the exquisiteness of opera.
Opera is the hardest singing style there is; so to be even a bit good at it is an achievement. I think most people are intimidated by Opera singers.
opera is the ultimate expression of the male and female voices
tehnicaly yes.
Both Opera singing and Gregorian chant

I remember Carla singing in my Church Choir when we were kids! She stood out above everyone even then!! You go girl!!!
I cannot even express properly in words my feelings when hearing such magnificent voices.
This is even too sublime for this show somehow but I feel honored to listen to them!
I don't get it how can they speak while listening to opera!
I have a feeling that they would have done better if they had gone with Sir Tom. It's a pity no classical singers were chosen this year, though.

sweet
Matt C This is my favorite, too. Its harmonies are exquisite and these singers have beautiful, well-matched voices.
british airways chose this song because it translates to English as "we steal your bag, we steal your bag, we steal your bag whenever you fly with us. We steal your bag, we steal your bag, we steal your bag and never give it back".
this is beyond perfection.. damn.. it brings tears to my eyes
Mine too. Just beautiful.

It may not be the only real music, but it was one of the very first kind of music, and it is the most complex of all.
This pulls on your heart more than most other genres, plus these women are perfectly on key
People think? People know. I sing opera and it takes on average 15-20 years to train an opera singer. Also, you have to read and play music.
0:48 OMG...its so good..
Oh man that harmony at 0:49 , fantastic. :-)
Im absolutely looking for opera auditons...
And this is the most magnificent and brilliant act!! Perfect!! I could listen to them All day..
These two sound professionals, such flawless polished beautiful performance.
I've seen all these duos singing this song - these 2 are by far the best .
Lyrics :
Sous le dôme épais
Où le blanc jasmin
À la rose s’assemble
Sur la rive en fleurs,
Riant au matin
Viens, descendons ensemble.
Doucement glissons de son flot charmant
Suivons le courant fuyant
Dans l’onde frémissante
D’une main nonchalante
Viens, gagnons le bord,
Où la source dort et
L’oiseau, l’oiseau chante.
Sous le dôme épais
Où le blanc jasmin
Viens, descendons ensemble.
Translation :
Under the thick dome,
where the white jasmine
Assembles at the rose,
On the river of flowers,
laughing in the morning.
Come, let's descend together.
Gently, let's slip
Around its charming flood.
Let's follow the fleeing current
With one careless hand let's reach
for the bank,
Come, let's find the bank
Where the source sleeps.
And the birds, the birds sing.
Under the thick dome,
Under the white jasmine,
Let's descend together.
Beautiful. Thank you.
Mickael Brian stp c'est quoi le titre de cette piece , merci
Jasyn YK Cette chanson s'appelle "Duo des fleurs" ou "Sous le dôme épais" ( or "Flower Duet" for the english name)
Jessie J: What would I do with them?
Danny: I don't know what can I do for them.
The difference betweem selfish and be humble.
I agree... After watching this, I understood Danny’s reluctance. It’s not that he doesn’t want them, it’s realising that he might not have that capacity to coach them vocally as classical singers.. might end up doing harm to them than good vocally.
Not really, same meaning lol
I’m more upset it took 20 seconds for one of them to realise it’s two singers. It’s one of the most famous duets in all of classical music.
This was brilliant and beautiful!
0:24. No shit, Jessie.
no shit sherlock
Indeed, no shit
These two women are truly amazingg. Would love to see them win. They was like a breath of fresh air the moment they started to sing.
I love this aria.
Wow they were amazing! They don't even need the help. These two should be on America's Got Talent so I can vote for them.
This is not my sort of music but OMFG are they good. To the point i keep coming back to listen to it. Pure class. The only way to describe it
Gives me goosebumps every time I watch it!
Absolutely amazing, ladies, I could listen to your voices all day long, thank you!
I'm french, watching the show in France... that's amazing, oustanding, gorgeous....to be able and to have the courage to show this, omg, you're just divine. thanks for bringing poetry and glamour and unique talent on tv like you do...
Oh wow ! Absolutely LOVED this ! I could listen to these two ladies endlessly ! Fab !!
i just couldnt stop to hit the replay button! and to have eargasm continuously!! owhh. how magical is their voice
Just came across this.. omg. Tears.
The passion and harmony in their performance is breathtaking.
Perfection

Stunning... Got chills.... Exceptional in everyway...
C’est dans ces moments que l’on peut dire que la musique est la nourriture de l’âme. À écouter sans modération. Quel performance.
Just like angels..... this is beautiful....
Simply beautiful..listening to it for just about the 100th time. Good luck to them.
It is not me who hears their voices.
The whole earth stops and makes the light that rocks us escape from its throats.
Thank you for revealing that dream to us ...
It's Christmas and I'm surrounded with these two Angel's voices. My heart is melting ❤️❤️❤️. Thank you Angels, God bless you ❤️.
I love this song!
WOW ! One of my favourite songs and they nailed it!
enjoyed it so much . it was a refreshing change. from someone who sang opera. hope others enjoyed it too.
Jessie .. what a singer/composer i she.. she even guesses there are two singers in this (flower)DUET.. bravoooo
Hey, she's not just a heavily made up face.
@@seamusoflatcap 😂indeed "not just"😂
Will.I. Am understood the depth of the song and style right of the bat!
Absolutely magical.
Wow! now that's a special surprise we did not see coming. A soothing addition to the competition
Absolutely fantastic, Carla well done, Newry is all behind you
Breathtaking - simply breathtaking.
Eargasm:-)) Brilliant...exactly expresses what I feel everytime their voices soar in the middle of that fabulous performance!!
There voices make me cry, absolutely beautiful!
Should have been on "Got Talent" instead..
Sorry to say this, but unless they have a good sob story they needn't bother.
Streatham Soprano Not entirely true, plenty of the contestants, even winners had none.
Actually they would have had better success on The Voice, granted none of the judges really had the connections needed for Opera, however The Voice is more upscale than Got Talent, require actual talent before you can even be allowed on the show and not just beacuse you'd make good TV

This was by far the best VOCAL of the night. It sounds exquisite !
Amazingly talented ladies. Much respect xx
I have no words. My whole family just sat speechless through this entire performance. WOW.
First comment I've ever made on a you tube video. I LOVE this. I only hope will.i.am will keep them in the show. This is what we need.
OMG! Their voice bring me tears. I don't even understand a word!
Amazing voices.
Ethereal, hard to comprehend its timeless beauty
Truely superb. Flawless. WOW !

I can't it's just heaven in earth
couldn't agree more! they're spine-tinglingly good!
Totally agree with you. I think she's an absolute dote and love her on the show. She's a great talent and a very warm personality and I can't get over all these people just looking for something to critisise her for. SO undeserved!
love that duet! they did it flawlessly
It's awesome right. An opera duo among a competition that's mostly pop, rock etc. It's refreshing.
Amazing voices and performance. This is what I would call real singing.
I sang in a concert and these two were in it. I never thought they'd go on to do something like this. Respect ladies. Respect.
So beautiful.
Beautiful voices
Absolutely magnificent!!! To this day ☺️
eargasm's galore .............. so good
YEEEAH !!! I LOVE THEIR VOICE. So agreable and beautiful !!!!!!!!!
Beautiful voices! Greetings from Baltics!!!

REALLY wasn't expecting it. And I don't think I appreciated it at the time because of that. After I re-watched it I really love them. And it brings something totally new to this show.
A-m-a-z-i-n-g!!!
Outstanding!
The best so far by miles.
These two in my opinion are the best from all the Voices.

This was the most flawless , pro , peformance of the week. Superb !
so beautiful.
Absolutely love you guys, have listened to this every night since I viewed it! Amazing
I love opera, just wish more people could appreciate it.
Angelic!
Impeccable!
The Amazing M83. The track is called Outro. Been used on a lot of things, but most recently 'Cloud Atlas' Soundtrack. It's stunning.
