I haven’t kept up with the SC2 community in a while but last time I was Maxpax was not taken seriously at all. Cool to see how dominant he is viewed now
@@Shawnmell He's been absolutely tearing the online tournaments apart for the last year or so, and is sitting as rank #2 overall after Serral. Still doesn't play offline though, so people still don't like to give him credit for much, but on a good day he makes Protoss look simply unfair.
NOTHING brings my RTS heart joy like watching Dragoons do their thing. I still remember being a kid, walking into my friends house, and seeing Brood War on his computer. Dragoons were clawing across the map blasting 'lings. "What is that?!" "Oh, that's Starcraft."
Vultures were always good vs toss because they deal full damage to shields, and toss detection is the furthest in their tech tree. Also i think in SC evo they are neither light nor armored...? Which is nuts against SC2 units, as they take bonus damage from nobody.
Without Vultures SC1 Terran would be completele helpless against any protoss. They were always desigend to deal with Zerglings, Drones and Zealots. Its just tough luck for SC2 Protoss that stalkers arent tough as dragon. But Blink can still bet the Mines quite easily.
@@Berek71182 Probably some maximum security wall-off and then perfect blink micro. But if you are silve, gold or even plat - those vutures seem broken.
@@Berek71182 MaxPax' problem was that he went adepts, and vultures beat those even better than they do zealots. If he had less adepts and more stalkers, those vultures would not have killed him.
I wonder if we will see Brood War only competition using the SC2 engine. Cause so many new strategies unlock when you have larger control groups and better pathing.
I find it very insightfull that the SC2 units look and functions like an army upgrade of the BW units after the struggle of the first game, but STILL can lose to them
Seeing Stalker/Immortal/Disruptor go against Dragoon/Reaver is like seeing, well, the 19yo Gen Z dude finally square up with his boomer grampa lol. I can hear one of those dragoons ranting "back in my day we didn't need no fancy blinking or barriers, we did thin--" and immediately getting smacked with a purification nova.
game 2: 16/18/17 opener into LAIR with first 100 gas, then when lair is 50% done, start hydra den. put your creep colonies one at the mouth of the natural and one behind it leaning toward the ramp. I've been doing a similar build to this in BW for YEARS and it's always been good for early pressure defense, and it sets up a really strong hydra-lurker bust
That first game looked like maxpaxs first time seeing spider mines, he was trying to bait mines with workers and placing units in compromising positions
Funnily enough, workers cannot be targeted by mines in Brood War, since mines cannot target hovering units, and all workers are hovering. IIRC Vultures and Archons are both hovering units as well
Pretty nice "series". Pretty weird seeing MaxPak being just utterly annihilated in the PvT. Edit: Keep coming these SC Evo casting when you have some, it's awesome! :)
Tbh until the disruptors came out, the dragoons were rolling over the stalkers, and blink was of little help. I guess sc1 toss has to rush speedlots against sc2 toss because of disruptors, and not just pump out dragoons. Because if they go mass dragoon and dont kill the other guy before disruptors, they ded.
Am I missing something with the Evolution games in the melee/arcade? I can almost never find a game on the NA server, are the not as popular or am I looking in the wrong location?
Correct me if I am wrong here, but SC1 zerglings are weaker than SC2 zerglings. Here's why. They both get speed/attack boost, they both have the same attack/speed/hp. But the SC2 zergling gets speed boost from creep, while the SC1 does not. Idk why Lowko has the impression that SC1 zerglings are somehow stronger.
After comparing liquipedia for a bit it seems that sc1 zerglings have a 50% higher dps than sc2 zerglings cause they attack faster. sc1 14.88 dps vs sc2 10 dps. They basically get an extra attack in per second compared to sc2.
Imagine you're minding your own business, having fun with the mod, then suddenly a Maxpax appears.
And imagine you win...
seems like maxpax just got caught not knowing about the vultures, doesnt seem like something that is undefendable.

Alos dragon randomly walk i to enemy base.
I like how SC2 game engine turned Vultures from a cool unit to absolutely terrifying early game pressure monsters
It seems that vulture is op and vs protoss super op. Also arbiter might me game-chager. Other the those it looks like BW units are weaker then SC2.

Love the big crater that the scarabs leave behind on detonation.
MaxPax play everything expect offline matches
I will
love this evo mod - would love to continue seeing you commentate more of these
actually by lore Immortals are the granddaddies, Dragoons are the daddies and Stalkers are the new kids on the block.

heard the intro a bit different tonight
.... just out of curiosity ... did you expect a clap?
.... cause i did being used with that intro from a different youtuber primarily playing AoE4

13:45 we need to make this into an EDM SONG, lolololol

Thanks for the video, Lowko. Happy Friday! ❤
Yeees! I was already sad, that people stopped uploading SC EVO content!
Splitting Dragoons is not my idea of fun. At least not in SC1.
Lowko's selective blindness attacks again!!!
18:11 Reaver first shot
20:55 Disruptor first shot

I think if he’d built the last gateway as part of the wall, he likely could’ve held the wall and kept the vultures out.
MaxPax AND SC: Evolution?!?!
heck yes!
4:37 Rank 1 SC2 Protoss alright. Lowko isn't lying.
I played Brood War a few years ago before switching to SC2 and let me tell you the level was absolutely brutal on the ladder.
Maxpax + sc: evo? christmas came early
It makes me so happy you cast maxpax and not hero 🥰
Based on the vulture play I'ma guess that's flash. Maybe jae dong. Prolly flash though.
I like to watch your videos before I go to work and I missed you yesterday. 😢❤
me n my bro been loving the BW mod so much more fun to play as ive always got issues playing sc1 with the mining
Vultures seem OP vs SC2 protoss. Mass adepts are definitely OP vs BW zerg, and so are disruptors vs BW protoss.
the last map look a lot like big game hunters.
See, disruptor is the unit that makes P op here

Hello, i really like this mod, how can i play it? i know video is 3 weeks ago but id like if some1 could reply.
Holy shiz, MaxPax micro is so good.
Also, Dragoon iz good.
I tried playing it but every time I do it just gives me an "error trying to process the request" - anyone got any idea why that might be?
Heart of the swarm came out in march of 2013 what do you mean not that long ago?
Have considered playing classical music in the background?
Lowko, what is mothership core?
Kinda weird when I realize I'm older than maxpax
I wish they would bring the mothership core back
Hierarch Artanis vs Executor Artanis
So many reaver plays over so many clips, but no one is getting the reaver capacity upgrade?
great games!
WTF who was that first terran that humiliates maxpax 😮
Mothership core blink all-ins were my introduction to SC2. I was on the receiving end. Not fun.
Also flash vs Maxpax isn't even fair.
MaxPax is not even alive when BW came out.
"mudder ship core"
Maru or Micro jackson himself, Byunn would have targeted the disruptors with reavers and shut it down easy
1st game was great
Mothership core? You mean when nylons attacked 😂
It is very the the barcode protoss isnt very good with micro at all
This I'd the new starcraft in my opinion ❤❤❤❤
Stop switching the colours! Augh!
Get well buddy
Reavers best
🎉
I am older then u lowko lol
