Been a Zerg man since the OG Starcraft came out in high school, and watching Dark rip throats out like a genestealer jacked up on Mountain Dew never fails to put a vicious smile on my face. Love this guy
Playing against Dark is basically the same thing as playing on glitched colors in NES Tetris. It's fast, you can't mess up once, it looks weird and, eventually, the blocks get so dark you can't make out what the fudge is happening. Basically, Dark is part Charcoal, part Dusk.
15:25 It's not about being easy, it's about making a point and demoralizing your enemy by beating them with the "wrong" composition! Also the constant aggression with the zerglings and ultras let him know that herO wasn't adding immortals or disrupters to the composition, so microbial shroud + queens would be a sufficient counter to any air units herO could throw at him. That way he could focus more supply and gas on his ground army to win the base race.
Game 1 was so silly. Hero being fully capable of making more archons quickly to actually counter the lings and instead being like "no id rather make carriers and ignore unit comp." Or even hes massing lings i should get storm or any form of AOE.
pretty sure he assumed that the zerg would tech away from lings since they usually do. once zerg sees carriers to double down on lings is certainly ballsy in the current meta...
I’m guessing the damage reduction from Microbial Shroud is counted BEFORE armor, which is why it was surprisingly effective against Protoss Interceptors.
Spoilers...... .. ........ ................ This is exactly what I expected to see when Microbial Shroud was introduced. Specifically for Queens and Hydras to counter interceptors.
They should half spell damage as well. As lowko said, you can't go hydras against carrier because a single storm murders them. Mass queen only worked because he had no ground army or probes left
@@OldSpaghettifactory89 Which I feel happened because you can't defend that much ling ultra with just air units, at least not without a legit supply advantage.
Probably one of a very few times where you want to send the skytoss out without ground support. As soon as you see the ultra you just know theres no spire.
how to beat skytoss: 1) protoss opponent only builds 4 carriers with no upgrades 2) one queen with microbial shroud tanks everything for a whole minute
Hey lowko, what about adding a 15 min or so stretch of empty video at the end of the cast? That way you cant tell the result of the series by looking at the video timeline :D
What a blast from the past! This was the strat back when I stopped playing like 6 years ago 😜 Protoss makes air, Zerg makes Ultras and Queens and kills their base before the Skytoss can kill the Ultra's 😜
I'm such a huge fan of the edit cut backs that you've been doing. Love them! Also, thank you for reminding me to hit the like button. It sounds cheesy, but sometimes I cast games in the background when I'm working, and the audio queue helps as a reminder!
I feel like Dark has a bounty board of weird challenges. ‘Defeat Skytoss with Queens, Zerglings, and Ultralisks’ sounds like an AI generated achievement.
Oracles snapping that hatch flashing me back to when haas figured our oracle dps was crazy enough you could just fly 5 or 6 into a zerg main and snap everything queens stores the lair, everything
Dark is the definition of "you cant counter my strategy, if i dont have a strategy"
HerO: "What kind of diabolical tactical scheme has my opponent concocted before me?"
Dark: "Random bullshit go!"
@@joshuakim5240 You two are awesome! :D
HerO: "I have the tactical advantage!"
Dark: "I have more units than you have bullets!"

herO: I am in the air, you cant hit me. :)
Dark: I AM SPEEED!

Nice reference. That Tetris arc was very cool to learn about.
If Dark is Dusk and Charcoal, then Serral is Greeeeeeeeeeeeeeen.

Was Dark exploiting Hero’s habit to use all army key.
Yes he was 😂
Ya know, Bliz did promise that they would start ungating the power of Microbial Shroud. Surely any day now.
Dark is just playing with his food by the 15 minute mark. His games are a treat to watch
So funny. he’s just trolling them. Such a dirtbag I love it
Come on, Lowko. Counter to Sky Toss? Every single pro game with sky toss is a protoss' loss. Everything counters it.
Game 1 was so silly. Hero being fully capable of making more archons quickly to actually counter the lings and instead being like "no id rather make carriers and ignore unit comp." Or even hes massing lings i should get storm or any form of AOE.

Dark rolls dice to decide what units he uses
The Templar Archives was specifically targeted.

Dark did that to hero. Talk about flexing.
Game 2 was fun.
go lowko
Im waiting the whole day for your Dark vs maru Finals cast upload.
Beautiful 1st Match.
Most Zerg: I will build exact unit counters, carefully balanced armies and trade efficiently
Dark: haha, zerglings go brrrrr.
Nice strat, but not good against the low noobs... they just build like 100 canons for defense and then move out with their army...
The feint you ignored to be ready to engage my real army was the real army 😂
I've faced this "unique" strategy many times since 2009, when my friend destroyed me in the final of LAN tournament for sc-2 beta key.
how to beat skytoss:
1) protoss opponent only builds 4 carriers with no upgrades
2) one queen with microbial shroud tanks everything for a whole minute
This kind of tactics will never work against Sky Terran or Zergs.. but once again, it will kill Protoss. Buff Skytoss.

"This is a match-up" ❌️
"Helloooo everyone my name is Lowko" ✅️
shroud + queens is a true classic strat against skytoss from the good old days of double stargate void ray
Just because microbial shroud is the worst spell in the game doesn't mean it is a bad spell
Hero just ain't what he used to be. Frustrating to watch, just garbage now
So Dark's strategy is hard to see? :D
I'll see myself out.
Ugh, why did he not rebuild the cybernetics core in game one, errrrr.
like the saying goes "if it stupid but it works, its not stupid at all"
What a blast from the past!

Like it to bump it up
Next Game, Dark vs The Joker.....post game interview of the Joker "And they call me mad"
But Great Games was a joy to watch them

Thanks for the video, Lowko. Appreciate your dedication and hard work as always. ❤
This commentator sounds like a nerd!
