    I'm so curious on Shanks' backstory, he's got such a mysterious presence despite being around since Chapter 1. What did he and Roger discuss which caused him to cry? How did he get an audience with the 5 Elders? Did he know the truth about the Nika Fruit?
    Whilst I doubt he'll have the longest backstory, I think whatever we get relating to Shanks will be amazing

      Given a lot of things but especially his reaction to gear 5 I think it’s safe to say he knows the truth about the nika fruit. Because he had to have known *something* about the “gum gum” fruit being important, and he didn’t look surprised at all to see it’s awakened form. I feel like the only way to not be surprised at gear 5 in the newspaper would either be to know nothing about the gum gum fruit (most people) or know almost everything (shanks)

    On top of your explanation for Joy Boy's flashback, I want to bring to your attention another idea. Whenever a Straw Hat joins the crew, or rejoins, the chapter is titled according to when they joined. Zoro's chapter is "The First", Brook's is "The Eighth", when Usopp and Franky join it's "The Third and the Seventh". But we have not gotten a chapter called "The Sixth" for Robin. What better opportunity than when we get to Laugh Tale, and the moment Robin has been built up to achieve for the entire series, reading the complete poneglyph record and learning the true, complete history, will come. The crew gathers around as Robin narrates the story of Joy Boy, bringing us to his flashback, and that chapter will be called "The Sixth".

      @Teddy_Gautier Рік тому +45

      Nah I personally wouldn’t like that. It’s a cool story when you put it that way, but the insinuation here is that, for all this time, she was never truly a straw hat. All the previous examples you gave, they became full-fledged straw hats at those specific points in time. I just don’t think it would fit for Robin at this point. Also, another reason why I don’t prefer this is that it reduces the value of her character to a tool that is needed to read the poneglyphs. I know that’s not how you meant it, but that’s how it comes across to me

    You missed the most important one. Gecko Moria. We have a little backstory for him, but his history is still a pretty big mystery. But why might his story matter?
    1.) Doffy said that the order to kill him came from above admiral. Whenever the Gorosei or the Celestials get involved with something, it usually has something to do with the forgotten century.
    2.) Moria is on Hachinosu and Blackbeard killed his friend. Until now, only a hand full of main antagonist crew members have died. Vergo, Monet, Mr. 7, and Mr. 11. No seriously, go check. Absalom's death out of all of these is the most tragic. Absalom's only crime being his all consuming love for Nami.
    3.) Moria has shown a complete shift in his behavior. Going out of his way, traveling the new world by himself for 2 years in order to track down one crew member, and eventually waging a one man war against an Emperor to get him back. Would old Moria do anything like that?
    4.) Moria, compared to other antagonist has done very little wrong. His ability has only caused one confirmed death. But if you remember, everyone who got their shadows stolen, stole from God. Moria puts barrels in the ocean that say something like "offering to God". When someone steals the barrel and opens it, a signal flare shoots out, allowing Perona to find and track them. Thriller Bark then abducts their ship, and Moria steals their shadow. It's rather poetic when you think about it. Those who steal from God, lose their ability to live under the sun. Now where have I heard of a Sun God in One Piece?
    5.) The mystery entities of the Florian Triangle are probably something Moria has encountered, and might be the reason for why the Gorosei or the Celestials want him dead. They also seem to be similar in shape to Im, and Im in Norse mythology is a giant.
    6.) What's up with Moria's body? Like seriously. I know he's supposed to be out of shape. But just look at him during the Kaido fight and then look at his current body. He has a huge long neck with a massive scar running up it. His arms are freakishly long, and his legs are freakishly short. I'm sorry, but no amount of sedentary life style will turn you into what Moria has become. Is it possible that Vega Punk rebuilt him after his fight with Kaido? Is that why he was a Warlord?

    • @gurruvio8149
      @gurruvio8149 7 місяців тому +1

      my theory on why moria is so big is because i think moria and ceasar clown are somehow related yes i know it sounds like a massive strech and it probably is but what i think what happened to moria is ceasar asked moria if he could be a test subject for gigantism and in exchange ceasar will help moria find absalom. also im not a theorist at all so if this theory doesn't sound believable that's okay

    Might not be the most popular choice, but I really wish we got a proper, full fledged Moria Flashback because it has the potential to be absolutely beautiful with this Luffy like character embarking on a journey to become the pirate king after hearing of Roger's final words, gathering his crew that he loves like family, go up the ranks very quickly only to be faced by a literal wall in Kaido which not only shatters his dreams and willpower but also kills all of his friends, with Moria having to flee for his life after this swearing to never get close to anyone ever again to not ever feel this sensation of hopelessness and loss, only to adopt an abandoned girl in the form of Perona which he cares for like his daughter (which is apparently what happened from what info we have) which is the last anchor he has to his humanity.
    I don't expect it to happen, but man, seeing it done properly and not just hinted at in scattered bits would be awesome because that sounds like one of the most depressing and devastating yet beautiful backstories in the manga

    *Ok guys, about to touch on a topic since this video mentioned it for all your benefit and it is a sidestep from One Piece (Please do read) :*
    1:02 - Just wished to mention that even though not cooking by oneself would seem awesome and efficient, in the long run it is always *best* to cook for yourself. Unless Factor (or any food making group/family/individual) sells food that is completely home made and prepared by people whom truly take food preparation seriously ( *i.e.* understand the value of food and it's effect on the health of their customer, their mind etc. rather than just the taste ) and are good at heart as it is important - characteristics of one who prepares the food is reflected in the food and also affects the one who eats it (personal exp. and researched), it is always *great* to prepare your own food and eat it yourself as you know what your body needs are like how much salt, sugar etc. your body can take which others cannot figure out.
    Self - preparation has been highly in fact strongly recommended by medical specialists world over. As the saying goes "Every disease begins in the Gut" (Specialists would agree) , it becomes one's duty to look after their gut health. Hence not every food is good for an individual. Fried, overcooked, extremely spiced, salted or sugary etc. food always lead to diseases. One who learns to cook healthy food and eats and lives a healthy life always benefits by cooking for oneself.
    My elders always used to say : *It is always better to cook for oneself as one doesn't know what are the characteristics of people who cook them for you are.* Initially I found this odd but later got to know when I observed appointed cooks whom we used to treat as family didn't pay much attention to the needs of those eating the food but their time and money and are commercial. That is when I understood what Mother's food actually is and could gauge the immeasurable love and affection with which parents cook for their children and everyone in the family. Never fell sick from eating at home. It was like heaven's kitchen compared to any restaurant or outside places. Learnt traditional cooking from my parents since I had to as we are pure vegetarians and cannot do without vegetarian food. Cooking at home always served me well wherever I went and it also increases your skills also learning new dishes stimulates your brain and gives you some exercise if you are inactive. You also know to measure salt, sugar and such additives and condiments when cooking by yourself. There are two things that must never be commercialized but unfortunately are : One is Spirituality and the other is Food. Both have neuro - physical impact on any individual and hence directly on your health. So never be lethargic, *be active and lead a hale, hearty and healthy joyful life !* Wishing all of you all the best.

    I'm not really able to guess what is the content of their back story but I can guess the theme of their back story. Dragon probably about pain and loss (luffy's mother perharp ?), probably in a brutal way too since the only thing I can sense from him all the time is the unending rage that has been suppressed and can just explode at any given time if the trigger is right.
    Black beard probably about being a broken person, can't sleep, can't feel, like an empty shell of a person, that's why he need the darkness fruit to absorb everything to get a "personality", and the reason for that emptyness might be explained in the backstory.
    Akainu has the Same unending rage like dragon but NOT suppressed, probably he has a very similar backstory like dragon, the problem is the culprit is pirate.
    I can't really sense anything from kuma so no comment on that
    Joy boy on the other hand, I sense betrayal from his own allies and unexpected ally from the enemies, probably not 2 entity but coming from just one, to be exact, Alabasta, part of the world government, but you can't tell me that they are the same with them, even has a glyph hidden and the government doesn't give a crap about it ? or they're hiding it in the first place, if so, why ? isn't them also waiting for Joyboy ? They seems to have a very long history in Joyboy era to even have a glyph with themself YET, being part of the WG, hmm....

    I'm of the opinion that a "tragic" backstory for Akainu would kind of be lame. It would simply be unoriginal: one of the main baddies, who's backstory hinges upon the fact that his family was murdered and his home burned. That seems interesting but we've already had at least a few of the characters in One Piece already (for example: Robin, Doffy to an extent, Big Mom to an extent, Arlong in a way, etc.). It's just not super original to make that your villains motivation. I think, instead, it would be much more interesting to see Akainu simply unfold from a normal marine recruit into a hardened Admiral: seeing pirates killing innocents, sparing some pirates and finding them doing more harm, and most of all, your superiors constantly brainwashing you into thinking all of your enemies should die, and that anyone that disagrees is an enemy. It would be much more harrowing, because more than tragedy forming his "justice", it would be reality simply being real: Akainu seeing pirates being bad, and marines telling other marines that all pirates are bad. It would also be a good foil to Luffy, who saw the opposite: marines being rather corrupt and pirates often being pretty good.

    Theories on Blackbeard
    1. Blackbeard lost his sisters to the Celestial Dragons.

    3. Blackbeard somehow escaped the Celestial Dragons and later joined the Whitebeard Pirates.

I want to see his backstory, what happened to this man to shape him in such a way. at the same time there are so many characters in one piece that it is not possible to get his full on backstory.

      @@blairwilliams3311 I did not say opposite, I said that Moria represents a "what if Luffy lost his will ?". He is placed just before Sabaody to highlight this, we get a man that himself compares his younger self to Luffy and says that he should backpedal now before he loses everyone right before he ..... actually loses everyone, and we have the parallel between what happened to Moria after this happened to him (lost all hope and went into depression) and what happened to Luffy (kept on going and believing, he had his low after the death of Ace but he still was able to bounce back).
      Blackbeard wouldn't represent a Luffy that lost his dream, in fact it is clearly shown that he is a dreamer as well.
