    Hello Sootch
    I just wanted to tell you that I really do appreciate your videos. My wife and I just went through the hurricane Irma in FL. The mind set and preparation for such an ordeal can be overwhelming. I have been watching your videos for a while and they helped us through the storm. We did not go without anything. In fact we were able to help people because we were prepared. We not only survived we thrived.
    Thank you very much

      So good to hear you made it through and thrived! That's an excellent point my friend, not only surviving but also helping others! I am honored by your comment. It has made my evening.

      I rarely comment on videos, and I wasn't in Irma. But your videos have also helped me and certainly many others become more self reliant and prepared. Thank you Sootch!

    I am building a kit on this backpack so nice to see this review, Sootch.
    LAPG actually still makes the Molle Gear bag and I have a couple, as well as a more "deluxe" version of similar size, the Zombie Hunter....both are killer!

    I absolutely love LA Police Gear. Great quality gear at amazing prices. Their pants and shorts are better than the brand with all the numbers. The bags are bullet proof. Great review from a great guy on a great bag!

    Love your videos/reviews. I am hoping you can do more greyman reviews to give us options that would work without looking tactical; especially for those of us with kids who may need something for school as a get home bag, professionals in a business setting or something along those lines. Thanks, keep up the excellent work - God bless!

    Great video as always Don! I too love LAPoliceGear. I have one of their older 72hr packs in my car, been there for about 8 years now. I also have a couple of the bail out bags and some of their clothes. I like the options with the Atlas packs having that front pouch system. I think that will be my next LAPG purchase. I have the Atlas pants, I use them for work as a maintenance technician and they are great.
    Keep up the great work Don!!!!!

    Now that is one nice bag! I have discovered something that my help with the floppy pockets: Velcro dots. They are tiny, but work great. You can add in the dots where you wish. One thing I would recommend is using super glue or fabric glue to affix the dots, as the adhesive on the back of the dots isn't that great for frequent use.

    Can you do a review on some of the SOG packs? I have the ninja 24Liter and the 64L 72 hr pack and the ninja was about $30 new, the 72hr was about $50 on amazon. I got them in black bit they are very nice and and have alot of storage space. They do have them in Tan and OD green i believe as well.

      Johnny Bones yes, I've had the 72 hour bag for a few months and it is great!! I love it!! The zippers are tough and it has lots of room!! Plenty of webbing and the 72 hour and I believe also the 24 hour bag has side pockets that are large with 2 small pockets inside. Plus the front pouch has slots to hold 2 ar-15 mags.

    Always had great experience with LAPG. In fact, I wore one of their short sleeve snap-front shirts to work today hah. I almost bought the Atlas as a hunting pack but they don't sell a camo version. I ended up using my Rush 24 in Sandstone instead this deer season (which I bought from LAPG a couple years ago). This pack looks like a Rush 12 sized between a 12 and 24.

    You are so right abt LAPG; they really are a great co, excellent prices, fast shipp abt quality gear. But, WAIT for their fantastic all gear sales. You have to be smart to find the discount code but I got my atlas pants for 18% off n they truly are excellent (not just for the price but really well built, great fit etc.) Want this pack, hope I can find one in black. Thanks for a great vid. Want the chest rig too, never saw that one before. Be Blessed brother.

      Just a much cheaper quality version. Lower quality materials and construction but exactly the same design. I don’t think it’ll actually hold up anywhere near as well as the 5.11 rush bags will.

    I came to the party late Sensible Prepper, but by golly I'm here now! Nice looking pack, if you have had those other packs for that long that tells you about the quality and construction.... I laughed when you showed the flex seal bottom of your range bag, because of that video I did both my Rush 12's and 72 and my MSM Adapt pack... Thanks for everything and have a great Sunday God bless and everyone under your roof... Regards from Yellowknife

    I have the 72 hour version for work (LEO) and it has held up well. LApolice's pricing is significantly better than some "other" brands that make products that are essentially the same as far as features & quality are concerned - just without the name brand (if that's your thing)...

      and p.s. - I've turned one of their range bags that he mentions into an active shooter/bail out bag for the same purpose and it's still going strong after 1 year plus of bouncing around in the trunk of my patrol car & pov.

    Looks like it make a great "Hunker Down Bag". What's that? That's the Bag/Kit that you keep in your Work Place or if you travelling and get Stuck where you are. You know there were people who had to Stay Behind in Downtown Houston and Miami who had to spend several days in those Office Buildings. Or Vacationers who got Stuck in the Caribbean. You probably don't need a Shelter System in those Cases, but you would need more than the Clothes on your Back and some EDC Gear. Take Care.

    The attachment system reminds me a lot of the FirstSpear 6/12, is it just me? Looks like a great pack though, especially for that price! The pack I’ve had has finally started tearing after two years of range trips, school and hiking. I kinda wish that there was a smaller version, more akin to a RUSH12 or even 24 for simple EDC stuff. But for week trips around TX, this could be the ticket. Thanks for the review, Sootch!

  • @theartofprepping
    @theartofprepping 7 років тому +1

    Neat pack, been looking at it since it came out. I went with a different pack for everyday use because the Atlas 12 was to large and heavy for my needs. It does represent great value if you are looking for what it delivers. Many people report sticky zippers on the Atlas line, expecially where the zipper curves. I decided to go with a 20 ounce pack that was completely non tactical. When you said you could put a plate into the rear compartment, you said for bullet proof capability, you and I know that plates are bullet resistant not bullet proof. Thanks for the review 😆

    • @SensiblePrepper
      @SensiblePrepper  7 років тому +1

      Thanks for the comment and the additions. I agree it's a little larger than what I typically use for EDC.
      As far as Bullet Proof, I use AR500 plates and they are Bullet proof with the exception of 50 BMG. If you are facing that, you have bigger problems! LoL!

    • @ch1tbag442
      @ch1tbag442 4 роки тому +1

      That’s literally exactly what I was thinking. The entire atlas line of bags is just a cheaper quality version of the 5.11 rush series. The designs are completely the same when it comes to pockets and sizes. La police gear uses cheaper materials and laser cut pals webbing. The quality is much lower and it shows in the long run. I don’t trust his review of the bag too much because he says he’s had some la police gear bags for over 25 years and the company isn’t even 20 years old so I’m questioning the honesty of a lot of what he says here...

    25 years huh? That gear didn’t exist 25 years ago, nor did that company!? How can we believe anything you say now?

    25 years??? Those style of packs are from the late 2000s. LA Police Gear was founded in 2001. They did not start offering military style gear until the late 2000s.

    May have changed his opinion in the full review.but he's the only one I've heard say ANYTHING positive about the chest rig. I wish lapg offered regular d rings in the place of the buckles for it

    Have you been watching the Metatron's channel? The intro music is not something I'd have expected to see here. Cheers from a Canadian infantry reservist.

    Sootch, I gotta ask, would you recommend this pack over the Direct Action Dust? Which one do you like better? Thanks.

      The Direct Action Dust is awesome and I like the smaller size for EDC. It's a better bag all around. Thanks jonny!

      LoneWolfEddy Bonilla It's more comparable to their RUSH24, which stands at 2275 cubic in. The LAPG stands at 2142.
