where can I listen to the entire disintegration loops series? Plus do you know how technically this has been made? Great great inspiring work anyway !!! Loving it ++++
Hi, i am a Brazilian independent artist. I composed, mixed and made the cover of this album over a year, thinking about the sleep experience and the layers of consciousness. It is a 28 minute album with two songs. I wanna be heard by people who connect with ambient music. Basinski introduce me to it. (I am discovering ways to spread my art and my work.) This is very special. It means a lot to me. Enjoy. ua-cam.com/video/Tp2P5S-txVI/v-deo.html
it's like everyday you feel yourself getting better and better. The results just feed into your self esteem, nothing can stop you. Any obstacle stands little to no chance as you have arms to eliminate it.
i mean it does not get any better than this. this sound is completely satisfying to the point where it makes you feel like you're embarking on your greatest journey yet. i'll look back and tell my kids this is what drove me during my early 20s. gosh man.
I always imagine a group of people dressed in white shirts walking towards their execution. Some of them happy because they had a plenty and meaningful life and regret nothing. others are relieved as the journey of suffering and delusion finally ends. They are afraid of nothing and for one reason or another they all embrace their end peacefully. If i was to be executed i'd want this to be played as i revive the good parts of my life and walk my final steps without fear.

In my opinion it definitely is the most moving of them all. First time I heard this, time just stopped, I couldn't believe how beautiful it sounded. Had to tear up a bit. This is what hope sounds like.
great great work! makes me cry! Tears in the eyes! Was it made through a neural networking program or how did Basinski achieve this very particular sound and small variations?
@@carsoncityboy Same here. I recently discovered this right before I lost a close friend of mines and this reminds me of the happiness of our friendship and the sadness of this passing.
Does the last part of the loop remind any of you of a religious chant? I'm referring to the part that's quite broken from the beginning. Love the ominousness of it.
Beautiful loop but too bad it gets ruined by loud ads halfway through. Monetizing content that isn’t even yours while basically ruining the experience of it is super lame.
i wouldnt recommend this plan, if you survive the consequences can be pretty pretty bad. just saying, plus i don't want someone who can appreciate this music to leave this world prematurely, we need all the good people on-board!

the entire disintegration loops series is so hauntingly beautiful
They really work for my adhd brain.
hard work to cope with. ends with the best results
It makes me feel peace. It is like music united the dearly departed and living together in harmony as how things would be if we were more peaceful.

That just about sums them up.
This is either heroic and crippling, a moment of stillness before the realization of impending doom.
"both" heroic and crippling?

Stupid comment
This helped me through an incredibly dark time in my life.
Thankyou.
My absolute favorite loop. Thank you William Basinski. You have no idea...
I feel like this song doesn't reflect the sunset but the massive and slow turning of the Earth.
This song feels like a last glimpse of the sun setting while you are slowly dying
Wonder what could have possibly invoked that imagery
Well put

I'm in awe of all 6 Loops. How eerily dreamy.

Its almost like I should create my own fire to go through the dark times
The way this fell apart....
I've been listening to this series for a month and now I'm on the bud' videos reading everyone's thoughts on it and it's beautiful.
I'm loving this video series, absolutely fantastic work. This one has always been my favorite loop.
The universe is a strange place
But it's the only place you know.
Used to make music like that.
Makes me want to give that a try again.
Do it! Basinski inspired me to toy with loops!
Did you make anything?
Please do. As an artist who writes for hours to this type of music, I support you doing so.
hey man, if you want to give that a try again then I'm willing to talk to you ! plz contact me :-)
@Miguel Cisneros genres exist lol

This is a beautiful but depressing and scary comment. Thanks anyways though!
@@Samuel-ve3wx I agree. This dances right in the middle of sorrow and happiness. That comment is perfect.

Hmm.
I'm sure this is the sound of future
OOOOOOOH YES, I didn't know you had already made one for D|lp 3! I love it! The music and the image fit perfectly!!
i love this! it's so calm.
So glad you did a video for this. Thank you
What a great video to go with this masterpiece :)
choice of video is brilliant
Its so hard for me not to cry listening to this.
Don't. It's incredibly moving stuff.
Keep me company on many long lonely nights.
Haunting.
YES! so glad you did one for DlP 3 - Great stuff brother!
Possibly the most moving of them all? Phew!

so Beautiful ♡
I see everything on Earth flash before my eyes, I question my existence.
Although very different, this somehow reminds me of Burial's haunting sound.
It's the atmospheric tones imo. Burial also plays with loops and echo a lot. Love both
Indeed. And Boards of Canada offer a less depressing alternative.
I can guarantee you Burial loves this whole series.
Truly great stuff.

It sounds like a faint gregorian chant to me, too. Exactly why this is one of my favourites of the series.
Unreal Tournament Soundtrack - Skyward Fire. Quite similar :)

The only thing I find irritating is the insertion of commercials into the loop.
Laughed out loud
Beautifully sad, a most mournful disintegration.
