Man you're funny, I remember you on the word way back cant believe I stumbled across you doing this. My 16 year old daughter just started selling scents gonna point her in you're direction. ROCK ON !!!
So glad to have found your channel while researching Diptyque L'Eau Trois. I found a discounted one and ordered it just now. I'm new to Diptyque from just last year, but have 6 now that I am enjoying so much. So far, this company is a home run for me. Anyway, new subscriber - I really like your descriptions and personality. Thanks for your contribution to the fragrance community!
I love Lolita Lympica. But my all time favorite fall fragrance, since I was 19 and I'm 66 is Estee Lauder Aliage hands down.... like ferns fresh I just love it......
Thank you, Katie! Love to see what you've chosen for the season. I love Annick Goutal Madragore, Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille and Annick Goutal Les Nuits d'Hadrien. Like you...I love me some sandalwood. Not to mention spice and amber. All warm yummy scents to me. You've given me lots of food for thought, as always... Thanks again, Katie!
@LuvCatz905 I think that winter is the PERFECT time for gourmand fragrances! Something about being all bundled up against the cold, and all the holiday baking that goes on - sweet scents fit right in.
Thank you for reviewing Egoïste, what a fragrance! I remember getting the aftershave in the early 90's and thinking it was somewhere between marzipan and chai latte, and that a man should never wear this, then comments from the ladies made me re-think my Azzaro phase... Now it smells diifferent, more rosewood, even carnation. That lovely sandalwood cinnamon drydown always mystifies: once a big Irish guy at the pub said to me "I dont love you or anything, but you smell smashing". Thanks again!
@jadorechanel19 Very interesting about your choice of Chanel Cristalle for winter! I wore it solidly for about 2 years at one point, and I know what you're talking about re it being nicely icy for the winter.
@Vaciito I also find that my own acceptance of individual perfumes can change over time, too. I can revisit a fragrance I'd written off a year earlier, and find that I now like it - or a least get it.
@KatiePuckrikSmells katie, you are just fantastic...your personality shines brighter than the notes of the perfume! i love watching your reactions and i smell EXACTLY what you are saying when you say it 'with the perfumes i have smelled' i have gone from 'princess' to 'miller harris oriental!!!' (parfum) and you just dont know until you learn and KNOW and you, are like a diamond of information that keeps me so happy! you calm me and inspire me to paint...i know its weird, but...arent we all! xo!
@katiew1908 You're preachin' to the choir with Les Nuits d'Hadrien. Great choice. I'm pleased to report that the necklace is my own concoction: I found the Bakelite rose in a flea market, and then had the jeweler Sage string it on a necklace of carnelian beads. I'm a big flea market prowler - lots of cool jewelry and funky art to be found.
Yes! It is so unusual too, on my skin. Thanks for replying :) I just found your videos; will def be checking you out more and linking to you on my blog. I just started my perfume journey a few weeks ago and it's become an obsession.
I know what you mean by "smell of an old man who is wearing a distinguished fragrance", that's what Penhaligon's Sartorial smells like when I wear it (and I love it!). But to me L'Eau Trois smells fresher and more nature-like than that. I think you will smell confident and intriguing to men.
I would so love if you returned to reviewing fragrances. You have such a pleasant ease at storytelling and comparing/describing things. How about using Sauvage Elixir for a comeback? A faceoff between that one and maybe Pasha Cartier parfum, and/or Dior Fahrenheit Parfum, and/or JPG Le Male Le Parfum, something like that.
Montales Kabul Aoud for me this autumn. In a nice way it's so strangely different than "usual" scents - i love it (unfortunately really hard to get). Btw. i really love your channel & your cheerful nature!
I miss your reviews Katie!!! I just got a sample of Memoir, so i decided to watch some reviews and this came up! I loved your reviews back in the day! At the time, l my pocket book couldn't handle your suggestions, but now I'm starting to dip a toe in your pond, and boy are these Fragrances beautiful! And your descriptions help me to understand what I'm smelling!
Ahhh, I'm so happy that you've finally done Lolita Lempicka! This is a favorite scent of mine. I describe it as "wood nymph" scent. This is no wussy fairy. This is a dirty, sexy, moss covered wood nymph!
No ouch implied for M7, I just neglected to address your question. I like M7, have only smelled the relaunched version. To me it smells of apricot leather with a woody drydown.
I know this is two years late, but I am absolutely obsessed with Memoir and was looking up every review on it, as not many people mention the notes that I seem to get on my skin. With me it opens up with an almost too-sweet smell for a few second, then a few mins later I can only smell a smoky licorice incense base that lasts ages. It is most likely my favourite scent ever (for now!).
@theeyeoftheday There is a gorgeous white floral I'm obsessed with at the mo - Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Flora Nymphea. It is incredibly spring-y and joyful, and I love how the honey makes it borderline purrr-OW!
@robinmosesnailart So glad to hear my insatiable perfume quest has helped you get your head around all the scented possibilities out there. There are lots of great online shops where you can buy samples of hard-to-find fumes: theperfumedcourt, luckyscent, aedes, etc....
@sd5386851 @sd5386851 You've got some of my real faves in that pile: Montale White Aoud and By Kilian Pure Oud. I've briefly tried Eau Duelle - the vanilla/incense combo isn't as deep and compelling as your White Aoud, for instance. It's much simpler and straight-ahead. It kind of comes across as a peppery vanilla.
Im wearing two old favorites. Tom Ford Extreme and Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille...although I am thinking of branching out to another private blend...like Black Violet or Azure Lime. I also live in L.A. and, I agree, the weather has been really hot.
I feel the same way about a dry fragrance. Alot of them take all of the natural sweetness from skin. Some of them make me think of polyester about to start a fire. I love these longer videos!
@buttercupsnailbox Thanks for letting me know about Nur's shout-out. I'm thinking you should give Missoni and Lolita Lempicka L a smell - you might like those.
oh my gosh, i just love you. i have learned tons from your videos and i just adore listening. i live in a small town and its so hard to get anyyyyy perfume or what i would chooose if i was gonna go out looking!....thank you :)
@whatwehaveknown There's no real rhyme or reason to what I review, other than requests and my own strange fancies. But you've identified a hole in my coverage, and I shall attempt to remedy it.
@TheStyleNurse Orange-vanilla L is different to Lolita Lempicka, which is licorice/vanilla/violet. For an amazing orange-vanilla perfume, try Givenchy Organza Indecence. I think you'll love that. Also investigate Britney Spears Hidden Fantasy.
Hello Katie! Great video as always, I really enjoyed watching. Lolita Lempicka is one of my all-time favorites. I'm wearing the Eau de Toilette version right now, since it's spring here in Brazil and the weather is warm! =) Now I'm interested in L'Eau Trois, but I don't even want to think about the price tag!
@CestmoiNicole You and I are drawn to a lot of the same perfumes! I love TF Noir de Noir, too - I think it's also my fave from the line (along with Neroli Portofino, its tonal opposite!).
@JIovannone Since I know you enjoy L'Occitane Eau des Baux, Diptyque Eau Duelle would be right up your strasse. It's a vanilla/frankincense combo, emphasis more on the vanilla. It's like a peppery vanilla. A Diptyque scent I love is Tam Dao, the cedar/sandalwood one.
Seydel - Fahrenheit is a seriously gorgeous and sensual, deep perfume! The was a stage when I only wore one perfume: Sheer Scent by Ultima II (now discontinued), and it smells like a slightly lighter Fahrenheit.
@ElysianStar I've not smelled Todd O, but those who love it compare it to Guerlain Mitsouko and the original Prada perfume, so you could sniff those and see what you think...
@KatiePuckrikSmells I was just asking because I'm Chilean and here and in every country that I have visited here on the continent happens the same, they are extremely popular. Of course Antonio's popularity helps in a 90% and the fact he promotes them here personally... uff!!! Even I would go a buy them all just to see him. And again, I really enjoy your videos and now I can say that I explore and experiment more with fragances and I discovered things I never thought I would. So, thank you.
Fabulous review again!! oh !! I remember the release Chanel Égoïste . Everyone was talking about it and wanting it before it was available. Brilliant. It IS quite unique. You have made me want to pull my bottle from the back to the front again. So far, the colder weather (really just cool here in Texas) has me moving toward Tom Fords Arabian Wood & Bois Marocain &Purple Patchouli (I bought these 3 to start with..they are special) LeLabo Patchouli 24 and Oud 27 & TokyoMilk 08 Lapsang Su Chong
@Athena1573 Try Penhaligons Elisabethan Rose, Yosh Sottile, Perfumer's Workshop Tea Rose, Annick Goutal Rose Absolute. All of those are gorgeous rose soliflores.
@sandygj3 Y'know, I say "fall picks", but like you, if something is irresistible and makes me feel fantastic when I wear it, it's a year-round number for me.
I've been wearing Cuir de Lancome and Balmain Jolie Madame. I guess I'm craving leather and violets this fall. Lolita Lempicka has always been a long time fave. I've been wearing it now for about a decade and never get tired of it.
@AchiK2007 I LOVE the smell of Moroccan Oil hair products, too, and yes, I have found a smell-alike! When I first smelled Moroccan Oil, I thought, "This smells like Miller Harris Fleur Oriental". I have a review of Fleur Oriental here on the channel.
Katie, I love your reviews and I think you should be knighted for it by our British Queen, lol. Ahhh... Egoiste, such an underrated CHANEL Classic. I think of it as a spiced, aromatic plum compote, that you make yourself at home on the stove with plenty of clover (carnation), cinnamon, bergamotte, and that purple-ness deep plum component that I cannot get enough of. Hard to find these days but I also love the even more sophisticated "Bois des Iles" (which is sinfully expensive)
Love your videos KP. I always look forward to them. I am having a lot of fun with my perfumes this fall. There are too many to note but here are my favorites - byK Pure Oud, Montale White Aoud, Diptyque Tam Dao, Serge Lutens Daim Blond & Arabie, L'Artisans Havana Vanille and Passage D'Enfer.. Phew! that's a mouthful! Have you tried Diptyque's Eau Duelle by the way? I'd love to know your thoughts.
@Teewriter Well, Lumiere Noire pour Femme isn't birchy/tarry, it's definitely rubbery to me. Now I'm wondering if it's the indoles from the jasmine that's also swimming around in there.
Yes. I just got a sample in the mail yesterday, and my friend who loves LL says that this is her new fav. The anise seed/licorice-ness is so good, and it gives off a sexy mysterious vibe. I'm new to the fragrance world, and I can't stop watching your vids! So funny and interesting.. I'm smelling every scent I can get my hands on now!
@LovelyMorwen Oh yeah - total bonus that the man himself shows up to flog his wares. Thanks for the feedback - nice to hear you've been emboldened to broaden your perfume boundaries.
I've owned Lolita Lempicka for some time now, and I adore the scent. Just yesterday it was a beautiful, crisp fall day here, and I reached for it, thinking, it will accompany this weather perfectly. So, I couldn't agree with You more on it being a great fall perfume. :)
@EffervescentFire If I can't smell it, I don't wear it! Because when it come right down to it, I wear gorgeous scents mostly for my own enjoyment: to uplift my spirit, to feel luscious, to be as "me" as I can be. And if I can't smell it, where's the fun in that? Plus, it's hard to monitor how much you're smelling up the joint if your nose isn't working.
@sobefashionista I'm curious about that Lolita Lempicka Minuit Noir, too! S'posed to be "headier, sexier" than the original. I hope that doesn't mean it's just sweeter.
I've been wearing Hypnotic Poison, Rochas Femme, Bulgari Black and Agent Provocateur lately and enjoying them a lot. I will also be wearing Stella again soon, as a lighter sensory companion. I also tend to wear good old No. 5 in the winter. After seeing this review I know that I will get myself at least a sample of Lolita Lempicka, I've been circling it for a while. Now it's time to get serious. Lumiere Noire and Memoir has me very curious - they sound so intriguing!
@virtualspaniel Haha...just think, before too long, we won't have phone directories any more. I think the last time I looked at one was maybe 8 years ago!
I know this is late to respond, but i would like to share my scents for this fall, i will be wearing so far Chanel Egoiste (not because of the video! It was just a coincidence) YSL Body Kouros and Diptyque "L"ambre dans l'eau" I am usually attracted to licorice, musky, woodsy and herbal scents hence the Diptyque cologne. I know you heard that like a Gizzillion times but i love your videos and the funny sarcasm sometimes :) just inspiring
@handelviola Fresh Cannabis Rose is relatively fresh with lemon and a bit of patchouli. You can watch my review of it on this channel. Jo Malone Red Rose is a very straight-ahead, rosey red rose. In addition to mentioning Frédéric Malle Une Rose in my perfume collection vids, I review it on my website (visit by clicking "website" on this channel's main page), and it is a very dense, winey rose with an earthy base. Le Labo Rose 31 is a sheerer rose that's more about the spice in the composition.
@catlikegreeneyes I didn't know that the artist's name was pronounced that way - ya learn something new every day! However, the perfume brand is popularly (mis)pronounced the way I did it - at least in English-speaking countries. By the way, my surname is Slavic :)
When you talked about the girl who always wears Coco Mademoiselle, I felt like you were talking straight to me! I've been wearing it for a while now and need to mix things up. Now I have four new perfumes I want to buy - all without even smelling them yet! :)
HI Katie. TheDukeOfQueens here, im wearing Grey Vetiver right now, great stuff. I know Platinum Egoist is common but whats wrong with that! i was given it by mistake when i asked for the original, sometimes i tire of olfactory sophistication and like to smell a little cheap and common, in a nice way of course! This week i purchased Eau Sauvage, kinda related to Grey Vetiver, less vetiver and a little dusty floralness, good stuff, still reach for the Bulgari Black when i need a comfort scent.
Wonderful picks Katie :) My fall rotation this year seems to be: Guerlain Vetiver Chanel Pour Monsieur Concentrée Kenzo Tokyo Costes Etro Palais Jamais Marc Jacobs Ivy Terre d'Hermes
@911ness That's funny - there are certain perfumes that I prefer wearing in the lotion version because the perfume version is too intense. Stella works better for me in the body lotion (though I'm crazy about Stella Rose Absolute, so go figure), and same for Frédéric Malle Carnal Flower body butter.
this autumn i wear juliette has a gun's citizen queen and burberry london - i love both for the fact that they chase away the cold weather that will surly come sooner than i like
Are you still treading water? Here's my lifesaver: all your faves and next move ideas sound good to me. If you're looking for a contemporary take on a classic masculine, try Penhaligon's Sartorial. It would work well for the fox hunt. Another manly/traditional/elegant one to try is Chanel Pour Monsieur (the regular edt, not the concentre version).
@mohogany77 It could well be that you're processing sandalwood as "olive oil". Sandalwood has a soft, animalic/herbal quality that can also read to me as slightly gasoline-y.
Hey Katie, This Fall I am wearing Green Irish Tweed by Creed, Grey Vetiver (which you mentioned in the video), and Power by Kenzo. Every time I wear Power I smell a lovely tobacco and that rich sweetness makes me immediately think "autumn"
@DarkxAbyssmalxSoul I haven't tried those VS ones you've mentioned, but I do like their Intimes line. I love the Mandarin Santal one - soft orange and sandalwood.
@tuliorba They are indeed, and I have reviewed them: Daim Blond and Ambre Sultan here on UA-cam, and on my blog, Chergui as well as discussions on a bunch of the others.
@LondonLady07 Hee-hee! Glad to have excited your curiosity. But be sure you try before you buy - spritz a couple on your arms and live with them for a day before you decide if they're "you".
For the fall Im wearing flowerbomb, fancy love, omnia crystalline, and any other that strikes me. I love euphoria but it's to strong for work. I may wear it just to relax on my days off. Its incredible to me. Like the vid a lot Katie.
She is the best reviewer ever. I’ve watched a lot over the past ten years and I come back to her
Thanks for your loyalty!

Love your reviews, please please come back and do some more 😥
You have a great personality Katie and it shows through in your reviews.
Thank you for reviewing Egoïste, what a fragrance! I remember getting the aftershave in the early 90's and thinking it was somewhere between marzipan and chai latte, and that a man should never wear this, then comments from the ladies made me re-think my Azzaro phase...

@LovelyMorwen So pleased you're enjoying my fragrance rambles.
I have a blank spot regarding Antonio B's line, I'm afraid. I need to get out more.
Never too late to respond, especially since you're right on time for fall fragrances again. Thanks for your list...and for your inspiring compliment!
Come back ! I love your videos
I love Lolita too

@NebulousWhisp Eau Sauvage is marvelous! And have you investigated Diorella, another Dior majesty closely related to Eau Sauvage?
Love your videos. You're awesome!!! Very articulate and cute!
I wear hypnotic Poison every fall.. I'm so glad you've referenced it!! I'll be searching out those scents you compared it to!! Thanks!
@Markisan That Aquolina Blue Sugar's a cool one - I don't see it around the way I used to.
My ultimate autumn fragrances are Etat Libre d'Orange's Afternoon of a Faun and Like This.
@PoshPatootie Yes! I'm going to do an Opium review soon.
@lblush I like Indian Holi, too. It's a slighty sweeter version of KenzoAmour, and it seems to have a bit of incense in it.
@princesslyndi You are completely sorted out with those at the ready!
@AnandaOficial I got my L'Eau Trois at the Diptyque shop in London, it wasn't too bad, maybe around $100.
Wonderful picks Katie :) My fall rotation this year seems to be:
Guerlain Vetiver
Chanel Pour Monsieur Concentrée
Kenzo Tokyo
Costes
Etro Palais Jamais
Marc Jacobs Ivy
Terre d'Hermes
@911ness That's funny - there are certain perfumes that I prefer wearing in the lotion version because the perfume version is too intense. Stella works better for me in the body lotion (though I'm crazy about Stella Rose Absolute, so go figure), and same for Frédéric Malle Carnal Flower body butter.
this autumn i wear juliette has a gun's citizen queen and burberry london - i love both for the fact that they chase away the cold weather that will surly come sooner than i like
@fuseki Have a look at my "Fragrance Tips for the Office" video - I answer your questions there.
Sandalwood has a soft, animalic/herbal quality that can also read to me as slightly gasoline-y.
great picks Fall is a great family time and I try not to wear anything heavy.
@joeyeldridge I'm wondering if you smell like Christmas mulled wine?
Hey Katie,
This Fall I am wearing Green Irish Tweed by Creed, Grey Vetiver (which you mentioned in the video), and Power by Kenzo. Every time I wear Power I smell a lovely tobacco and that rich sweetness makes me immediately think "autumn"
I love your reviews Miss Katie!! i think i have watched all of them now, thanks for your awesomeness! ;D
@Junichild I find that you can make a truer evaluation of a scent when you start comparing it to others in the same genre.
@Voyeur53 I was wearing 10CC yesterday! Judging from your delicious list, I think you'd really get a kick out of trying my picks.
@LondonLady07 Hee-hee! Glad to have excited your curiosity. But be sure you try before you buy - spritz a couple on your arms and live with them for a day before you decide if they're "you".
@ladybrett1974 Just the thing - the newest Lempicka: Minuit Noir. It's bigger on the licorice, smaller on the sweetness.
@AvonCalling71 Haven't tried that one...is that one you're enjoying for autumn?
For the fall Im wearing flowerbomb, fancy love, omnia crystalline, and any other that strikes me. I love euphoria but it's to strong for work. I may wear it just to relax on my days off. Its incredible to me. Like the vid a lot Katie.
@danielfblackert Haven't encountered the Concentree. And like you say, it's not like the original Egoiste is shy, volume-wise.
