The managers tactics was spot on....the defence is not good enough...not only that the players have wasted many easy sitter chances and bottled it. I saw son and had he passed to timo who was not marked the score would have been 4-4
@@wilsonmpesha904 we also had chances to kill off the game. Those tactics should have won us the game. Sometimes sitting back and protecting the lead is a good thing. Nothing cowardly. He should have brought on Madders for johnson and moved Kulu to the right.
You guys are all missing the point. There is no one in Tottenham's team who can slow the pace when necessary or quicken it when required. Secondly they have too many players of the same type. Warner, Johnson,et also cannot create their own shots, someone has to manufacture it for them and when that's not happening they disappear. It's time you guys start telling it like it is.
Why do the media act like Spurs losing, suffering a poor run of results and/or having a mediocre season is unprecedented and a sign that something is seriously wrong? They haven't been "great" since Bill Nicholson was in charge over 60 years ago. To be able to remember this you'd have to be born just after the war at the latest. I can understand why United's travails or Liverpool's pre-Klopp was a major story, because we are talking about two genuine giants in the doldrums who have/had fallen from grace. Spurs haven't fallen from anything, nor are they underachieving. They have been at this sort of level for most of their modern history. I honestly think this is part of their problem. The media, the owner and the fans put them on a pedestal and hold them to standards they simply are not at. There are only four trophies on offer every season and Spurs are competing with either bigger or richer clubs for them. The sooner everyone realises this the better.
Makes you wonder what exactly is Levy saying and doing that is ruining the managers. Job interview.... Levy: How many times will you bottle it per season. Manager : Yes.
It's just that they don't spend the money required to win things. And they can't because of FFP. It's that simple. Wage budget is the single best predictor of finishing league position, and Tottenham are 5th in the league in that metric. So will never really be able to challenge, unless they get lucky. Just another reason why FFP is a terrible anti-competitive idea. Although not so terrible, I guess, if you're Daniel Levy as he'll quite happily see the value of his asset increase as the fifth largest entity in an ever expanding franchise, without it ever being threatened by smaller teams.
@@Alx-h9g It's not just the amount of money, it's the way the money's spent. Liverpool's wage bill is only around £24m above ours but their recruitment is exceptional. They don't blast away millions in wages on the likes of Temu Werner, for example.
@Grant1979 of course the premier league will bottle it and pretend it didnt happen.....cant upset 1 of the septic 6.....if that was Everton or Leicester they would have a 5 point deduction......joke of a league
as long as Daniel levy is there nothing will change, like no offense to Postecoglou i think he is a good manager (maybe the only manager that could fix them eventually) but even if they got someone better like literally Pep Guardiola the story will still be the same.
I have supported my local club, Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, for 66 years. I have never been so depressed about our abilities on field. Changing managers, and we have had a succession of good managers, is not the solution. They all fail because the senior management of the club is not providing them with what they need to consistently win football matches. It is way past the time to bring people in, who know how to turn wonderful real estate into a FOOTBALL club!
Strangely, Carra actually spoke sense for a change, but what is the deal with getting Merson in the studio for this game? He's not Chelsea and he's not Spurs. Anytime he opens that mouth of his, all he ever does is slag Spurs off. I thought pundits were supposed to be impartial.
Jamie and carra spot on. Levy needs to leave i've supported tottenham since i was ten in 1990. I've had enough of it i've not followed them for years now. It's the same old rubbish. Levy cannot keep blaming the manager and sacking them. Something deeper is going on at that club behind the scenes its pathetic. You can't go from a top three club like they were under poch for five years running to a mid table mediocre farce. Levy has to go now and let somebody new run the club it's not working. Something is broken at that club and levy has to take responsibility for it. Enough is enough the fans deserve better than this!
The issue with Levy is his strict transfer policy. It's not how much he gives a manager to spend but his insistence on how a deal is structured that results in missing out on certain players. He feels he has to win every transfer so expects every buy to be a discount and then quotes ridiculous prices to clubs wanting to buy his players. Just set a budget and give the manager more input in how that money is spent.
mourinho and conte rants about spurs tell you everything you need to know, these two guys know what it is to win they had won almost every club trophy if i am not mistaken and they found themselves in a club where being 6th at the season knocked out of all cups by january is not a problem and you are in trouble once player decide to down tools and force you out because you dont get along with some of the leaders, but then once every decade when spurs have a player who is rumoured to join psg bayern real and so on there levy pretends acting like a big club by playing strong hardball to let the player go,or milk the homegrown affective factor like with kane without every giving him a proper team to fight with
Spurs fans that defend Levy need to ask fans of other top clubs and ask would they want him and i guarantee you all would say hell no. Even Utd fans wouldn't want him because they are STILL winning trophies
Conte was right all along… Situation at Tottenham won’t change unless there’s a new ownership… I still haven’t forgotten Levy sacking Jose 6 days before a cup final back in April 2021… I personally would give Ange until end of next season and come then we can judge him just before the 2026 World Cup starts as he’ll hope to have had 3 full seasons come that time but knowing Levy and his record as far as firing managers are concerned I can’t see that happening, we have been unfortunate this season with injuries… I always say better to be successful in a marathon than keep failing at sprints in Ange we trust, trust the process (Well I do anyway) 🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🤘💖❤️💗👄🤩🤩🥳🥳😍😍🗽🗽🗽🗽
As a Spurs fan, Carragher is bang on with Levy and Ange. Levy hasn't done enough but Ange is also way out of his depth. To hear him say 'why would we change tactics at 2-0' just shows how niave he is. At 2-0 Chelsea start getting momentum; so you make a subtle tactical change to wrestle back control. Ange never does this - his in-game management is woeful. We have huge injuries because of the way we play - and don't have depth - so it's both a Levy and Ange issue.
Arsenal fan here, Levy proved what he was about after they reached the Champs League final. That summer they bought no one, if they had've gone for it then then they absolutely would've won a trophy but not buying anyone was absolute criminality
Playing this tempo football where we seem to thrive in the chaos we need high energy, we have a tired starting 11 backed up by a tired bench who can't replace the quality. The squad is non existent, we're struggling for an 11 right now... Levy won't offload players for cheap so they take wages and seats in the dressing room stirring a toxic environment. Conte called it out, Mourinho called it out, Ange won't because he's not been so angry that he loses his class but it won't take long. Spurs fans give him scapegoat after scapegoat and they keep buying it, he is amazing with money but not with football. The recruitment has been good, for about 1 season. We need 3-4 windows of good outgoings and incomings to have a team that can play how we want and when we play how we want we win, we saw it loads start of this season and last when injuries and fatigue didn't exist.
Since when did anyone expect Spurs to win anything though? I think the club has been doing fine for the last 10 years personally. An FA cup would be the icing on the cake but it’s nowhere near expected
I just watched the short clip where SAF said Spurs will never win the league so I looked a few things up ... before SAF came in, the last time Utd won the league was 1966-67, SAF signed up in 86 and it took him another 6 years to get there ... before 2019, Liverpool hadn't won it for 30 years ... before the takeover in 2008, City last won the league in 66-67 and it took them 3 years (by the way, City have only won one game in the last 10, is anyone calling for Pep's head ?) ... before Wenger joined in 96, Arsenal had won it 3 times in 34 years ... before Abramovich took over in 2003, Chelsea hadn't won the league in 50 years ... since 1975 (50 years) only Forest, Derby (twice), Villa, Everton (twice), Leeds, Blackburn and Leicester have won it apart from them (we were runners up 5 times) - that's 41 seasons out of 50, one of those first mentioned clubs have won it (Utd-13, Liverpool-10, City-8, Chelsea-5, Arsenal-5) ... it was a virtual quinopoloy ... however, the EPL is becoming gradually harder and harder where now teams like Newcastle, Villa, Bournemouth, Fulham, Forest, Brentford and Brighton are consistently capable of beating anyone on their day and are more than willing to be in the mix ... and when it comes to that so is every other EPL team ... so what does all this mean ? ... does success breed success, yes it does to an extent but does it guarantee it ? ... absolutely not !! ... nothing is a given ... as in the words of all the banks, past achievements do not guarantee future results ... so all these muppets calling for Ange to be sacked, get a grip ... there is no quick fix, no instant gratification and if anyone should know that, it's a Spurs fan because we've tried it, many, many times and it's got us nowhere ... we have to build from the ground up and we've only just started and it has to be a continuous process, we'll be another year or two at least
Carra on form here, well said. Too easy to blame Ange, that result is not down to him. Its down to players simply not being good enough. No manager can plan for or coach away that kind of amateur decision making to give away two pens like that. Crazy. Theyve cost Spurs 3 points.
On the other hand, Levi could go spend big on players and run the club down when they fail. He's playing it safe, and he may very well play it to safe. Having said that there's more than one club who overspend and got in big trouble because of it.
Spurs have always impressed me with their attacking flair and how, on their day, they can beat anyone. My question is this. In the days of Linekar & Gazza were they as Spursy as now?

If we'd won, he wouldn't have asked for the watches back to have 'Winner' engraved instead."
Levy is not going to make money out of expensive "ready-made" top players. He will make money out of players like Bergvall, Gray, Sarr, Udogie etc if they develop into top players which of course may take years while Spurs flounder. Like any good money-man he's a patient investor. Does he care about trophies and winning titles? No. His legacy is the infra-structure of the club - the stadium etc. which is bringing in millions. Need to stop deluding yourselves about Spurs as being potential PL or CL title contenders. Ain't going to happen while Enic is there and they have no intention of giving up the cash cow.
Part of Spurs problem is they think they are a big club. If you judge a club on their stadium then yes they are. But we all know it's on trophies won and titles won. So they are a small club like Everton but live in the past.
Levy clearly needs to go . However, What are Spurs actually supposed to achieve? They haven't won the league for over 60 years . There are too many clubs that think they should be winning something.
Most important for Levy is green excel after season. He is doing very good job. This is the honest true. Spurs in second half was waiting for more goals score by Chelsea.
Levy has looked after the club but the football team is only invested in when they have to. Should've improved the squad under Pochettino but didn't. Didn't replace Alli or Eriksen adequately. Its been a them at Spurs for years.
My issue with this is we’re comparing Arsenal 5 years into the rebuild vs Spurs 1.5 years into the rebuild. Compare what Spurs are doing to Arsenal in Areta’s second season. Also, Levy would rather sack another 10 managers than sale up. You’re a moron if you think Ange should be sacked as you’re accepting Levy will be here forever
We literally paid 65 mil for solanke Jamie who is our starter. Van de ven walked in and is one of the best in the league. Romero? Porro? All big money and walked into this tean the problem is our squad depth or we buy too many flops like Richarlison.

@@rcr03 There was no killing that game. Ange's game management is non existent. We are always in trouble.

Changing managers, and we have had a succession of good managers, is not the solution. It is way past the time to bring people in, who know how to turn wonderful real estate into a FOOTBALL club!

He’s a chelsea fan. Sometimes I think he chooses which of Arsenal and Chelsea he associates himself more with depending on who’s doing better

Carragher almost begging for Ange to get the sack. How did Arsenal do it? They gave the manager time.
Let levey deal with commercial activities only and leave the football side alone
Spurs`s performance for yesterday it was like the players wanted the coach to be sacked as soon as they can especially those two penalties
If everything is so obvious to these pundits, how come they aren't football managers?

It's still funny how they came 2nd behind Leicester in a season where other big teams struggled.

@enicout-h3u Agree with you mate and they're a big traditional London club but the Premiership is absolutely brutal these days .
Most important for Levy is green excel after season. He is doing very good job. This is the honest true. Spurs in second half was waiting for more goals score by Chelsea.
Nothing but truth spoken from the guys here
People forget that spurs isnt a club that spend 100m on a player. They are a well run club and they are doing well
Realisation that the squad isn't good enough
