    I’m new to working w polymers and I’m hooked! My style, if I even have one, tends to be one of adventure since, why not? Your video is so similar to the way I work, discovery! True, doesn’t always work out the way I planned but the process is crazy fun! I’ve subscribed. Thanks for this! The final piece is gorgeous .

    Pat, this is so classy. Although I haven't jumped into clay, everytime I watch you, I surely get closer. You make it so easy to follow. Also,You are very cognizant of the fact that there are tools around our homes to be used as a substitute. I appreciate that. Maybe I'll start with your napkin bookmarks first.

    I absolutely love this Patricia, and I've never seen a bail made this way, I see so many hide them, it certainly made it in the end, it's gorgeous, and you have given me inspiration to try doing blends, I was always scared off making pieces with blends either scrap or not. Thank you for showing your creativity, muchly appreciated.

    Thank you so much for this and all your other tutorials. I learn so much from you, and on top of that I LOVE the style of jewelry you create, your shapes, your colors, your findings, your cords and Sari ribbons. I just started with polymer clay a couple of months ago and my head is brimming with ideas, thanks mostly to your very clear instructions.

      Thanks Lorraine, if you look at my Pebeo Prisme Bracelet video, I show how I use UV Resin and a UV lamp to achieve that wonderful finish. It's toward the end of the video. Usually, I hate using varnish also, I use Kato Liquid clay with a heat gun at times, but the UV Resin is simpler to use.

    Thank you for such an enjoyable tutorial. I can't wait to try it out with my scraps. I would like to get into the UV Resin for finishing, but how do you know how long to leave the pendant under the light? Do you resin the back?

    • @patriciaroberts-thompson
      @patriciaroberts-thompson  6 років тому

      Thanks Marilyn, The resin that I use says it takes approx four minutes for a thin coat.I usually give it 6 or 7 minutes, and then set it in a window for 1/2 hour ( outside would be better, but it's winter here ) More time if it's a round bead that you are turning in the lamp so that all sides get enough. It may feel slightly tacky, so that why I leave it in a sunny window for a bit. That resin really smells strong, but the odour goes away when it is fully cured. Almost forgot, no I usually don't do the back

    Patricia , i have concern. What clay to use.i have primo sculpy and soufflé. Some of my bracelets in the past have broken even when i am carefull with the correct baking procedure i learned from you. I heard you talk about soufflé as being very flexible. Should i only use this for bracelets? If so what do you use primo sculpy for.

    • @patriciaroberts-thompson
      @patriciaroberts-thompson  6 років тому +3

      I use Premo for pretty much everything, all my cuff bracelets are Premo clay. The strap bracelets and flowers that I make are in Souffle. Your bracelets shouldn't break, that's usually a sign that they are underbaked. So that means that the temperature of the oven is too low. On my oven I have to set it to 290F to get it to the 275F that it needs. That's because I have tiles and a brick which helps even out the temperature, but actually affects the inside temperature. An oven thermometer is very important to give you a better idea what is actually happening inside the oven. If something I make breaks, I take it as a sign to up my oven temperature. Also, I like to bake everything for at least an hour to be sure that it is well cured. Premo is fantastic clay, please don't give up on it! Good luck!

      Well, I have about 50 of them. The regular colours would be fine , the choice between fine and coarse are for the Pearl Medium ones. I have the coarse Black and the coarse white pearl medium. Everything else would be the fine , though they are not labelled as fine ( just the pearl colours )

    Do you have to cure your resin in a UV lamp, or can you use a UV LED lights?

    • @patriciaroberts-thompson
      @patriciaroberts-thompson  6 років тому

      I just tried a small piece in my LED lamp, after pressing the button for 6 minutes, it still wasn't cured. So I'd say it doesn't work, or at least doesn't work well. I think outside, covered with a clear plastic would work better.

    • @alittletlc9139
      @alittletlc9139 6 років тому +1

      Patricia Roberts-Thompson 😭 I figured but was hoping. Lol. A crafter on instagram made her own us led light oven and I’d love to do that considering how much time it would save me, but if the resin won’t cure under LED what’s the point. Guess I’ll have to go find out what she uses now. Lol

    How do you combine baked and unbaked clay and have it so the already baked piece doesn't burned when the whole thing goes into the oven together?

    • @patriciaroberts-thompson
      @patriciaroberts-thompson  6 років тому +1

      Your clay should never burn in the oven if you have the temperature regulated to 275F or what you need for your clay. One thing that really helps is having ceramic tiles and or a fire brick in the oven. That helps to keep the oven from spiking when it heats. A pizza stone works well too. The other thing is you must use a oven thermometer to know what you oven is doing, and always cover your work with an aluminum baking tin. You can re-bake your clay as often as you like!
