  • In this video, I will demonstrate how I make my cuff bracelets. I'm using Premo clay, a Kor roller and Pan pastels to make the bracelet, which I place on an Easy Cuff Bracelet form ( TinyPandora.com ) : tinypandora.co...
I bought my Kor roller on Etsy at VanIslandJewels www.etsy.com/c...

What a lovely gift you have given! It appears that I have been blessed with weekly master classes by an extremely talented artist who generously shares the entire process of creating her beautifully and well crafted art pieces from polymer clay. She is kind enough to show many examples of her work, as well as the multiple tools and products she employs to lift the quality of her work to excellent. She teaches, she explains, she encourages, she inspires. Thank you, Patricia Roberts-Thompson, for being so generous to those of us who so look forward to see what new special magical work of art you have decided to share with us each week. I am hooked!

Petrina Clay, I couldn't have said it better. I absolutely agree with you 100%!!! Patricia you are wonderful! I thoroughly enjoy watching all your tutorials. Oh my gosh .... Patricia, I could not agree more or expressed my feelings better than the gal below my comment. Your work, time, and dedication to teaching , giving tips, shortcuts, ideas, etc. is so selfless and refreshing. Your work is beautiful , your colors are striking,
and your way of expressing yourself and explaining is worth so much to me as a novice. I love all your tutorials and do hope to see many more. Much thanks from me and those who watch and learn but do not comment on how wonderful it is to get all your information for free. Thank you again!

Thanks so much J.C., very kind of you to say so, it's my pleasure! When I turned my attention to Polymer Clay, I learned so much from the other Artists making UA-cam videos, I just thought I'd give back some of my own way of working with clay.

These are beautiful--what wonderful creations you've made! One suggestion when doing the videos, would be to not continually move everything, but hold a piece of jewelry still for a few seconds just long enough so we can really see it from various angles instead of constantly keeping them moving. Thanks!

Thank you very much for such great free tutorials. I've learned a lot of great tips. There is so many things I want to learn but by the time you afford the class then the supplies it can get expensive for us Canadian folks. Many of the great products have to be purchased from the USA so that adds to the costs. Just wanted you to know how helpful and how much I appreciate you taking the time to create and record these videos. I'm a textile artist who admires and wants

You give so so so many free advance info away free and I know how much it takes to make these videos. Yes it's a passion but when you come up with a unique design like the dragons, well.... those are something special and I believe we can all get behind you and pay for a tutorial for a design like that. Lots of love thanks for all you do.

As always I find your videos are entertaining, informative and relaxing. That is a combo to accomplish but you certainly have mastered it. I also admire how willing you are to share info including potential sources for products. All-too-often people act as if they and only they are privy to such obscure info. Thank you for that. I appreciate that you keep it real. I read that someone asked if you have a store to sell your items. I am not familiar with UA-cam policies but I have watched many videos that include pictures and prices of items they are selling. Some call it a Destash Video or even a Jewelry Sale. With your fan base it might be worthwhile to do research. I know it is time-consuming to create and keeping track of questions and requests to purchase can be daunting. If you opt to use UA-cam in lieu of Facebook as your format the least chaotic situations I have observed included the seller creating an email account (usually Gmail but any would be fine), and all questions were handled there. PayPal was the preferred payment system. I have purchased items via UA-cam sales. If sales were on more than one format (UA-cam and Facebook or any 2 options), things often became chaotic and people ended up disappointed due to not being able to purchase their choices. I am not on Facebook so I do not know how successful that outlet could be. But if you sold some of your lovely creations you could reinvest in more clay products, right?!?

Love all your tutorials. Love your style too. Thanks so much for your generosity. What pack of colors are the pan pastels that you used in this tute.

Thank you, I used the copper and bronze from the metallic set, and a black coarse pearl medium, that I bought separately, and also a black that came from a painting starter set. You could get a similar look with the copper and black

Btw you're a wonderful teacher, I can't wait to make a bracelet, just have to find something's around the house to texture with, do you have a video on that? I had just started a collection of cutters and tools and somehow the whole box disappeared, I'm disabled and waiting for my disability to come through, so I can't afford to buy more. This is heartbreaking as I look forward to making things since I have so much spare time and can't afford ancestry anymore. I have tons of beads but I have RA and my hands won't let me bead work anymore. They say working with polymer clay is good exercise for my hands. I just got a pasta machine for Christmas and I'm so excited to use it. I also got a drama maker for my birthday and I'm so excited to use it also. Thank you for your wonderful videos I so enjoy watching them. Bless you for teaching in a way that it's easy to understand. Kim Jones

Thanks Kim, the wonderful thing about clay is that you can use almost anything to make impressions on it. Soles of shoes, shells, or you can make your own textures on scrap clay and use it after you cure it to texture raw clay. There is a nice video on UA-cam called 50 Textures or 50 Clay textures, not sure, but lots of homemade textures to try. You just have to thing a bit differently

To keep your wrist from touching the clay you can glue a leather or felt backing on the inside of the bracelet

amalia carmona, si usted hornea la arcilla para una hora, resulta mas flexible. Use la marca Premo de Sculpey, y asegure la temperatura de su horno con un termometro.

GREAT TUTORIAL! I really enjoyed this. Do you mind if I try to attempt the dragon bracelet you made? I say attempt cause I'm not sure I can do that yet, but I'd like to try. Thanks again for the great tutorial!

Loved this video! I think the mistake I was making with the Kor rollers is that I didn't apply any release on my surface. So when I tried the stamp trick it just stuck and rippled. I will give this a try!
Can I ask what color clay you started with? Love the verdigris/jade effect!
Also, last question, I've made a couple of cuffs without closures, and it keeps turning around on the wrist. Does that not happen once you add a clasp? I was considering using a an oval form to avoid that.
Oh and I'd love a video on the dragon cuff!

Thanks Krithika, for the Kor roller, have your clay on a tile or glass surface so it doesn't move when you roll over it- I had it on paper the first time I tried it, and that didn't work either. The clay colour was just a mix of blue and green scraps I had, and I added white till I liked the colour. The cuff turning around on your wrist is a matter of gravity, the gap is lighter than the rest of the cuff, so the heavier parts migrate to the bottom. A clasp helps with that if it is tight enough on the wrist The Easy Cuff forms are not perfectly round, and you can make them even more oval, and that will help with that issue too. I probably won't do a tutorial on the Dragon Cuff, as it is pretty much done the same as my Dragon Eye video

I do use a glass surface to work on, but now that I watched that bit of the video again, I think I might be using way too much pressure. So the clay sheet ripples and deforms and goes all over the place. I will go home n give it a try again!!
