I still think it so amazing that a cat gave a human a nickname.
Isn't it?! And also that, ever since naming Kendra's friend "Squirrel", Billi has consistently referred to her by that name, despite the lengthy gaps between visits!

I know! When she hit that I laughed and when she went and sulked I snickered!
I remember my daughter at age 2 being so angry and confused when she didn't get something even after she said please very clearly and more than once. Billie took it like an adult, but I sense some of the same energy here.

In the older vids, Billi asked for Dad. Now she has Dad, but asks for Squirrel. Her greed for specific human's attention cannot be quenched. She will keep pressing "Mad" until every human has a personal teleportation system to get them to her and she has over 8 billion buttons for summoning each individual, thus basically enslaving the whole humanity under her paw.

I feel ya, Billi. As a kid I used to think when we grow up, all my friends, cousins and grandparents were gonna move into the same neighborhood, hang out all day, have breakfast, lunch and dinner together everyday. Yay! I finally got to see the famous Squirrel-Friend video! Missed it at the time and couldn’t find it. I think the most convincing explanation (from a later discussion somewhere, not in the comments on original video) is that Squirrel-Friend has a long brown ponytail!

I wouldn't be shocked if Billi knew Squirrel's name, but she didn't have that in her "vocabulary" so she just arbitrarily decided "this is this human's button now." Everyone knows what she means, so it was a novel solution to a problem that worked, so good on Billi?

Floof and Iggy are about 8/9 and 9/10 years old. I got Floof as a rescue, bottle fed him and he turned out to be a foster fail. Iggy came to me at 6 or 7 weeks old, way too young to leave mom but her family wanted to get rid of the kittens so she came to stay with me, It's amazig to see how many words they have learned. For wet food, for scritches, for snuggles, for outside (secluded yard) for play. And they don't have a "mad" button but oh boy do they let me know when they are mad with something

This reminds me of how my friend's kid would call me "lotion" when he was a baby. We don't know why. We didn't live too far from each other and I her was still a toddler when i moved away. He would say "lotion" whenever they drove past my old apartment complex. That kid is 18 years old now 😅😅😅
