Perfectman showed the best protoss strategy for beating Jaedong. Jaedong leans so heavily on his ultralisk + defiler fighting style and since archons dont care about defiler spells and can stand with ultras, his style was nullified. Super good match.

Man I remember playing this game when I was 14 on a 28.8 dial up modem and when brood war came out and was brand new. I already had Starcraft but brood war was such a necessary addition to it. They had to nerf zerg larvae rates because it was op. They had to make spawning pools cost more. They had to make dragoon’s range upgrade take them to 6. They were a meme before that. Scouts were awesome and usually making 36 of them in an FFA was the way to win. Lost Temple and Hunters were the best maps. When they nerfed scouts ground attack cool down I was so pissed. They also had to make carriers not suck but I can’t remember what they did. Such a good time
Maybe he got caught improving the long distance attack and dedicated himself to improving the attacks of Melee and carapace . Anyway perfectman would use the composition Dragoon + Hight Templar + Zealot + Reaver.
@@Snaxophone True for other units, but Ultras are big enough that little splash is dealt, effectively making them a counter to Archons within Dark Swarm. Obviously, this was still not a great strategy though, due to the other aforementioned units - especially Reavers.

Really tough to try and beat an army like perfectman's with just defiler, ultras and lings, I feel like Jaedong got cocky with his economy lead and tried to force a win by zerging down perfectman, later on once perfect man had enough archons it was pretty hard for him to win fights. What could Jaedong do at that point?, would queens help as support units with ensnare or broodling for HT's?, dark swarm was close to useless those last fights.
I've noticed that every game you've casted from a year ago is zoomed in way too much. When did you start to zoom out? It's hard to watch the casts that are too far zoomed in.

Explain something to me. Those topside ramps never existed back in the day, they're a new piece to better balance maps unfairly favoring cliff positions from one side. Probably from remastered? So many archons. So much melee and splash damage. I would love to see more plague on enemy bases in situations like this. Seems like there’s no great answer to fighting the Protoss army. Maybe kill his economy instead?
Jaedong should have gone lurkers especially on his ramps as they have more dps. Maybe he could have had a queen ensnare the archons going up the ramp or mutas after he had destroyed nearly all of the corsairs.
Do Protoss players ever use shield batteries? I’ve never seen them used. I guess it could be good in some kind of strange Archon defense barrier. Also, Reavers are so terrifying to fight against.
